Work Text:
Donnie approaches April with his homemade gift, feeling uncertain. After several weeks, the gift was ready. It took a lot of effort, time, and resources. He hoped April would like it. Don made a box with a photo of himself inside. It was meant to remind April of him, that he was there for her and always ready to help. The turtle hoped that April would accept his gift and that she would like it. Overcoming his uncertainty and shyness, Master Bo begins the conversation.
— April, I've got a present for you... I made it for you so that it would remind you of me and so that you wouldn't feel lonely. I hope you really like this box. Don began and handed the gift to April. The girl picked it up, opened it, and a picture of Donatello began to spin there. She smiled at the gift, but the girl had no sympathy for Donny. No matter how hard he tried, she had no feelings other than friendship.
— Donnie, that's really sweet of you, and I like your gift. Truth. But I don't have any romantic feelings for you. Yes, it sounds cruel of me, but I'd rather tell you this straight out than you'll suffer. O'Neill said, and smiled faintly. Donny looked at April in frustration. There was pain and resentment in his eyes.
"Do you love someone else?" Tell me honestly. Master Bo asked his friend directly.
- yes.
"Don't tell me it's Casey Jones." That you like him. You know how I feel about him. You're definitely going to break my heart with this.
- No. It's not him. I don't want to say who it is, because my feelings concern only me. This is my personal space and no one can interfere with it. April said a little sharply and ran out of the house. She even forgot the box, which was still on the table. Don followed O'Neill outside. Despite the pain his friend had caused him with her words, the turtle still wanted to know the mysterious other person she had mentioned.
"April, please wait. I know it's not my business, but... I still want to know who it is. Who do you like, and who are you willing to give your love to instead of me? Perhaps I can explain how I feel and..."
"Donnie, you're crossing the line!" I don't have to tell you who I like or who I should love! You're trying to control my life, to decide for me who I should like and what I should feel. I've already told you that nothing will work out between us. Why won't you listen to me? Just forget about your feelings for me and focus on saving New York or something else. It will make things easier for you." With those words, April went for a walk in the woods. Leo, who was sitting on a bench outside the house, was watching the whole scene from afar. He was hurt for his brother, but it was something that was going to happen sooner or later.
A few days later.
Leo and April were walking through the woods to get to the mountain, as the kids were kidnapped by Chimera and taken to her nest. April was blinded by Chimera and Leonardo was helping her walk. O'Neill could feel where Chimera was and was leading Leo in the direction where she had taken his brothers and Casey. Suddenly, the girl started sniffing the turtle with the blue bandage. Leonardo looked at his friend in confusion. He knew that the monster was controlling her, but there was something else going on. The bird wasn't taking over her mind, and the leader could sense that something else was happening.
"April, are you okay?" the leader asked with a hint of concern.
"Yes. It's just... You smell so good..."
Before Leo could say or understand anything, April pushed him against a nearby tree, pressed herself against him, and lightly smelled him. The katana master blushed slightly, grabbed O'Neill by the shoulders, and tried to push his best friend away. However, she only pressed herself against him more tightly and ran her fingers along his cheek and neck. Leonardo didn't understand what was happening to April, but he couldn't deny that he enjoyed it. The way she smelled him, the way she touched him, and the way she held him... He couldn't deny that it felt good. Even though she couldn't see him, she could feel and understand everything. O'Neill ran her hand over his face, neck, and chest again. This time, Leo's blush was even more intense. She gently took his face in her hands and smiled at him. The leader took her hands and returned her smile. He knew who she was talking about when she mentioned Donny. It was him. After all, she had taken care of him when he was in a coma, helping him recover and regain his confidence. Maybe she had felt something for him before, but she didn't show it. Leo found himself thinking that he liked April too. He saw something special in her. Something beautiful... But seeing how she had rejected his brother, the katana master realized that he might face the same fate. After all, he was a mutant, and she was a girl. But how wrong he was...
— Leo, remember when I told Don about the other person I like? I know that you were sitting on that very bench and you saw everything.
— I... Of course I remember. — the leader replied a little in bewilderment.
— So. I was talking about you then, Leo. I have liked you for a long time. As of six months. But I did not dare to tell you this and now this moment has come.
April pressed herself closer to the leader. She freed her hands from Leo's grasp and wrapped them around his neck, pulling Leonardo's face towards hers. After a moment, O'Neill pressed her lips against Leo's. The blue-bandaged turtle was initially taken aback, as this was their first kiss. April took the lead and deepened the kiss as much as possible. The leader wrapped his arms around his girlfriend's back and ran his hands over her. As he became accustomed to the kiss, the katana master began to reciprocate O'Neill's embrace. It was a good thing that Donnie didn't see this. Although April had rejected him, when he found out that the other person was his own brother... It could have put their brotherly relationship in jeopardy. Although Don would have to find out about it anyway and accept that April would never love him and that her heart belonged to someone else. He would have to learn to live with it somehow. Leo pulled away from April's lips, looked at her affectionately, and ran his fingers over her delicate skin, which he longed to touch and caress. And although she did not see the tenderness with which the leader looked at her, she felt his gentle touch and understood that he reciprocated her feelings.
— April, I like you very much too. I didn't expect you to feel the same way about me. But I'm glad it turned out to be mutual. We can be together now, and nothing and no one will stop us. Even Donny's jealousy is not a hindrance. He will have to accept and let go of his feelings for you.
"If we've finally confessed our feelings for each other and no one has stopped us, let's go save your brothers and Casey." — The girl said enthusiastically. Leo hugged April again, only this time more gently. Now he will take much more care of her and will do everything to ensure that nothing happens to her.
