Summary:

On the year that you turn 20, you will receive a pendant that is half your soulmate's. The closer you get to your soulmate, the brighter your pendant will glow.

Will finally got his soulmate pendant. It matched with Mike, his best friend but there are two big problems.

1. Mike is straight
2. Mike is in a relationship with Jane

Hello fellow readers, it is my first time posting on AO3 :) This is a storyline I have been working on since 2022 but with Byler’s wasted potential in S5, I decided to dedicate this book to them because urghrgr I love them

I know canonically, Mike is a writer but just stay with me, trust the process. I will try my best to capture the personality they portray on their show and with that being said I really hope you enjoy the story :))

When you turn 20, you will receive a pendant that is half your soulmate's.

The closer you get to your soulmate, the brighter your pendant will glow

However, this is not always the case. Sometimes your pendant may flicker despite being in the same room as your soulmate.

When this happens, there are only two possible reasons;

1.That your soulmate loves somebody else or,

2. That your soulmate is slowly dying

1. Some individuals may receive a full pendant. These individuals do not have soulmates

2. Soulmates are just a guide. There are a handful of individuals who may choose to not get together with their soulmates
