Chapter Text
Running from the crimes he’s committed, the lives he took, William Afton found himself cornered in the Freddy Fazbear’s Backroom not accessible to most employees, except for himself, being that William was a co founder of Freddy’s, with his business partner, Henry Emily.
The spirits of the children William has killed would not let their murderer rest, cowardly running between the room’s corners to get back from the souls of those he took the lives of so ruthlessly.
William spotted his safe haven, a place that the spirits couldn’t reach him. His beloved Springbonnie suit. The animatronic mascot alongside Fredbear, for the now shut down Fredbear’s Family Diner. William put on the Springbonnie suit as swift as he could. While his victims looked on in silence, just observing the Killer who cut their lives short, William began laughing, his breath laboured. He’s won. They can’t do anything to him if he’s in the suit.
Or so he thought. William’s laboured breathing, his manic laughter, and the moisture in the springlock suit all spelled doom for the child serial killer. The springlocks, having been loosened by the moisture in the room and other factors. Snapped into place, piercing William’s body, his vital organs and leaving him to slowly bleed out as he dropped to his knees, now a dying man twitching. William’s body twitched, he writhed in agony, yet barely unable to move. The spirits of his victims had entirely vanished. Nowhere to be seen, like they were never there to begin with.
The backroom, that William was now trapped in. With no entrance or exit in sight, being that it was a room so little Fazbear Entertainment employees even knew about, let alone how to enter. William was doomed to perish in the very Animatronic suit that he took so many innocent lives in.
It was almost poetic, really, absurd even. William would have laughed his head off, if he weren’t in so much pain. And his vocal cords so strangled from the springlocks and the animatronic metal closing in over his entire body. Making his death not only suffocatingly painful but also claustrophobic.
Despite how little the chances of surviving a springlock attack is. The possibility of surviving all of the animatronic metal and springlocks snapping into your skin and severely wounding the wearer, William was still breathing, against all odds, his breath heavy and strained, barely audible.
With but one thought on his mind. His iron steel will to live. William Afton can’t die. He lives to kill. The very man that caused the downfall of his own company, the child serial killer who refused to die. Because if there was one thing not a false facade about William Afton..
”It’s that he always comes back.”
And thirty years or so after the disappearance of Fazbear Entertainment’s Co Founder, William Afton, the company had decided to give a haunted house style attraction a fair shot at ranking in some good cash to keep the franchise from going bankrupt. The company had dug up old relics from previous locations but their biggest finding?
A real animatronic. Found dead still on the floor of the completely boarded up safe room. The rotting and disgusting animatronic rabbit of which, was more than just a worn and dirty animatronic suit that reeked of mold and dust.
It contained a real corpse. The corpse of Fazbear Entertainment’s very own Co Founder, William Afton. A man whose serial killings of innocent children was covered a handful of times in the newspapers. But police were never able to apprehend William, being that the child serial killer hid the evidence of his crimes in the one place that the police would never look.
Because why would they?
William, upon taking the lives of his child victims, stuffed their corpses into the animatronics of his own creation. It wasn't long before guests started complaining of a rotting smell that lingered in the restaurant’s air, leading to Freddy Fazbear’s being shut down almost entirely. The animatronics, abandoned. Freddy’s, for all intents and purposes was forgotten by the public.
Fazbear Frights, the Horror Attraction, located in an old amusement park. Where the company took old relics of the previous locations and used the worn and dusty objects for horror attraction props.
Their biggest stroke of luck was finding a real animatronic in an entirely boarded off room that no one in the company even knew about. The safe room, an old and decrepit location, with arcade machines covered in a layer of grime and dust. The room smelled.. revolting. Like something died in there. There was cobwebs in every corner of the room, yet no spiders in sight. The checked floors were old and cracked.
The company had hired two employees to retrieve the old animatronic sat still on the dusted floor. In a few moments, they were sure the smell was coming from the animatronic.
Managing to lift the rather heavy animatronic rabbit, they stationed the bloodied robot at the end of one of Fazbear Fright’s hallways. A horror attraction prop, that’s what the animatronic was supposed to be.
But what they didn’t know, was that someone was alive, inside of the rotting rabbit suit. What was originally thought to be the eyes of the animatronic, flickered open. The eyes decayed and grey. Yet staring with a purpose.
The rotten corpse encased inside of the animatronic tomb, scanned his environment. How many years has it been? Where was he? Many questions flooded the man’s somehow still functioning brain, that should have withered away long ago.
William Afton, a man who presented himself as a charismatic and intelligent figure, a brilliant co founder of the well beloved Fazbear Entertainment franchise. William was a businessman, a smart and methodical man, who claimed he wished to provide the kind of children’s entertainment he wished he had as a child.
A man who appeared so friendly and liked by all, was deep down an utter monster. A cold and evil child killer. Murdering his own business partner’s only daughter in the back alleyway of a forgotten location.
Charlie Emily, daughter of Henry Emily, murdered by her father’s business partner, a man she called “Uncle Will” whom she trusted, due to the close relationship the Emily family had with the Aftons.
Charlie was familiar with the Afton family, having stayed over at their family home many times, spending time with William’s oldest son Michael, as well as the teenage boy’s two younger siblings, Evan and Elizabeth.
Charlie’s body was discovered late at night by her father Henry, who was worried sick about his daughter, who hadn’t shown her face for hours. Charlie was locked out the day that William had found and killed her. Henry was devastated by Charlie’s murder. Withdrawing from his partnership with William, all while the man who Henry had trusted, played up his tears, his acting in order to not come across as suspicious.
On the outside, William Afton seemed like a perfect idealistic man, a good family, a beloved business. But this was far, from the truth. In reality, William was the definition of evil, a cold and egotistical murderer. Who never killed to live. He lived to kill.
Nothing pleased him more than the screams of terror from his victims, the blood staining the black and white checkered tile floor. The blood slipping off of his kitchen knife and onto the Springbonnie suit’s fingers.
William enjoyed what he did. Committing multiple killing sprees against innocent children that frequented the Freddy Fazbear restaurant locations, luring them in as a friendly and welcoming employee. Only to cut their lives short with his own hands.
William had just enough body strength to lift these dead children into the tall Animatronics, planting their bodies where the police would never look. And with William’s identity hidden by the Springbonnie animatronic head, no one would know it was him. Allowing him to get away with it, and continue killing.
Fazbear Frights, as a Horror Attraction was decrepit and old to match the dirty and moldy look of all of the old relics they found from the old Fazbear locations. William wandered the horror attraction’s walls for hours upon hours, days upon days. With not a single soul but himself around.
William’s movement was stagnant and uncoordinated, he shuffled forward, one foot at a time. His animatronic suit’s fur and material had rotted so much over the last thirty years that the animatronic’s once soft fabric feet were now just exposed metal.
Giving William a clanking metal sound to occupy his presence. Multiple different red and blue wires in the animatronic rabbit suit were now exposed outside of the damaged suit.
Springbonnie’s entire right ear was missing, exposing the endoskeleton and wires once hidden by the structure of the rabbit ear. The suit’s expression was one of a constant smile. A eerie smile, one that was not friendly nor was it pleasant.
In springlock mode, the Springbonnie suit had see through glass casing, with a hole in the middle of the eyeballs so the wearer could see through the suit’s eyes. Springbonnie was known for having green eyes in animatronic mode. But now as a corpse, William’s grey and lifeless eyes were shown instead.
Fazbear Frights as a horror attraction seemed to thrive on the stories of how the original locations were shut down in the first place, seemingly making light of the events that took place at Freddy Fazbear’s. Where multiple children lost their lives.
And a child murderer was let to roam free throughout the franchise restaurants, never without another victim in mind to satisfy his bloodlust. William’s desire to watch those lives slip away by his fingertips.
William Afton was a cruel and heartless murderer. Now reborn in his animatronic grave, a suit once known as Springbonnie, one half of the duo that was Fredbear’s Family Diner back in the 80’s.
Was now a suit known as Springtrap. A springlocks suit was not only became William Afton’s tomb, but a trap to put an end to William’s crimes once and for all. But the child serial killer was born anew. Ready to kill again.
And hearing the faint sound of a male voice on the phone in the horror attraction Fazbear Fright’s distant office. William knew there was a new security guard hire, his latest victim. And he could feel his animatronic hands twitching with anticipation.
