“Hey, man, thanks for babysitting!” Robby greeted Jack Abbot with a hug.
Abbot clapped the other man on the back. “Of course, brother. I love spending time with my little buddy!” He looked over to Dennis who was on the floor playing with his blocks and sucking on a pacifier. “And your other kids need time with you where you don’t have to accommodate for a toddler.”
Robby sighed inwardly. “I know.” Trinity and Frank adored their baby brother, but with their age differences while regressed, they didn’t always get to do the things they wanted without the baby tagging along. Today, Robby was taking them to the Dragon’s Den, a place with rope courses and climbing walls, while Abbot stayed home with Dennis. Trinity was especially excited for the zipline.
“Come on, Dad, we’re gonna be late!” Frank complained. The boy was already in his shoes and coat.
“Alright, alright,” Robby chuckled. “But go potty first before we leave.” Frank started to groan, but was cut off. “Trin isn’t ready yet, anyway. Just go try. Just in case there’s traffic or something.” Frank blushed at Robby’s tone and the subtle reminder of the last time he didn’t listen to Robby about going to the bathroom before leaving for somewhere. Trinity teased him enough as it was without seeing him have an accident!
“Fine!” He finally said and ran to the bathroom.
A few minutes later, they were finally ready to go.
“Bye, Den!” Frank ruffled the toddler’s hair as he ran out the door.
“See you later, Hucklebaby.” Trinity poked the shield of Dennis’s pacifier and hurried after Frank.
Robby stopped to kneel down and give Dennis a hug. “See you later, buddy. Be good for Uncle Jack.”
Dennis smiled and nuzzled his face against his caregiver’s chest.
With that, Abbot was left alone with the toddler while Robby juggled taking his older two kids to the Dragon’s Den.
Abbot crouched down next to Dennis. “Hey, buddy, guess what I brought you!”
Dennis gasped, losing his pacifier in the process. It was saved from hitting the floor by the clip attached to his shirt. “Stickers?!”
He’d seen Abbot giving out stickers to kids in the hospital once and gotten jealous. (Though he tried to hide it. Seriously, a grown man and doctor should not be getting jealous of a sick kid getting a sticker!) Of course, Abbot had noticed, so here he was, holding out a booklet of farm themed stickers.
“Thank you, Uncle Jack!”

When Robby walked back into the house that evening, his eyes immediately widened. Stickers were across every surface! On the couch was Dennis, barely an inch of skin visible between all the farm stickers, and Jack Abbot, similarly covered in stickers.
Fighting back a laugh, Robby took out his phone and snapped a quick picture. This would definitely be going to Dana.
“Bold move to give the baby stickers,” he said.
Abbot rolled his eyes. At least the baby had a good time. And so did Trinity and Frank if their sleepy smiles and yawns were any indication.
