Staring into the mirror in her bathroom, carefully applying mascara and lipstick on her face, Claire the balloon girl was hastily preparing for her first date with a kind toon she had met.
This toon was one of the Main Characters of the Dandy’s World show, teaching kids to spread love and kindness to people. Her name was Nicole Bloomcap.
When they first met each other, their eyes were drawn to each other as if it was fate that brought them together in their own tale of Romeo and Juliet.
“Yo Claire, you busy in there?” Looey, her brother, replied from outside the bathroom door.
“S-sorry! I-I-I’ll be out i-in a s-sec!” She replied.
“Is this for your lil date?” He teased her.
Looey didn’t always have a sister. Infact, Claire used to be her brother, Charlie. Charlie always felt different from the rest of the other male toons. It was only during one night as Charlie was staring into the stars that Looey came in and asked him if anything was up. Charlie told him that he felt a bit more feminine like some of the female toons and Looey was very supportive of his (newly transitioned) sister’s decisions.
As Claire fixed her dazzling and glamorous violet dress, she was now finally ready for her first date.
She left the bathroom and grabbed her handbag before saying goodbye to her brother.
“You look absolutely stunning in that dress sis, heck I’d bet that Glisten would be jealous” Looey said to her.
“Y-yeah…I-I mean I don’t s-see him g-going on a date w-with a g-girlfriend h-heh” she replied.
She then left the room in her magenta high heels

Soon, Claire arrived to the diner she and Nicole agreed to meet for their date beforehand.
And there she was, the love of her life.
She wore a scarlet dress that’ll make heads turn, her eyes sparkled in the light, her lips red with the lipstick of love, her cap glistened in the warm light of the diner.
Nicole wore her best pearl necklaces for this special occasion with her girlfriend.
“Hey Claire! You look SO pretty in that dress!” The mushroom lady told her.
“T-t-t-thanks…..” The balloon girl hesitantly replied
“Don’t be nervous girl! You’re only making me feel more attracted to you!” She giggled
Claire covered herself with her ears in embarrassment as she felt her face become warmer and more red.
“Awwww cmon! Don’t you want me to see your pretty face?”
“S-s-sorry…..I-it’s j-just that-“
“It’s our first date together! So tell me…..How’s your brother?”
“L-looey? O-oh….W-well…..h-he’s in a c-circus troupe w-with…….Y-yatta and B-blot if i-i r-remember?”
“Hmmm mmm” Nicole traced the glass’ rim with her finger, staring blankly at her lover’s face “Aaand what about you? You draw stuff right?”
“W-well y-yeah b-but…….B-brusha t-thinks that-“
“Who cares what that brush thinks! I think you draw very cute just like you”
Claire swallowed her throat nervously.
“S-so…..w-what’s it like b-being a m-main character” She asked the mushroom
Nicole held her head in her hand
“Oh well….It’s kinda boring. I mean the attention’s great and all. And plus you get like a handler who you can talk to about things. But overall, nothing exciting happens”
“W-well……..t-this is e-exciting?” Claire nervously asked
“yeah…..Yeah you’re right! This IS interesting! Gosh, you’re so smart. No wonder I love you”
“Y-yeah……..”
“Hey can I ask you a question real quick Claire?” Nicole enquired
“S-sure g-go ahead…”
“Do you think……we could start a family? I-I mean once we get to know each other more! Like adopt a child, or we could do surrogacy”
“S-sorry w-what’s that?”
“I just heard Nancy, my handler, mention that. Apparently like human women have like a baby inside them for a…..ummm……”
“A l-lesbian c-couple?”
“Yeah that….”
“W-well……I-I should t-tell you s-something”
“Mmm?”
Nicole was not made aware of Claire’s transition
“I’m…….not a-actually a f-full g-girl”
Claire struggled to get the words out
“What do you mean?”
“I-I mean t-that…..I o-only got t-top surgery”
“Wait…….that means…..”
As the mushroom lady came to the realisation, her face filled with glee.
“We can have a natural child together!!! O-once we get m-married I mean”
“I d-don’t mind t-that” The balloon replied
The date continued for a while until one moment as the pair were laughing about a joke they once heard, Claire and Nicole’s eyes locked with one another.
They both knew what was going to happen
“Do you mind if I?” Nicole asked Claire as she held her head in her hand
“N-no……not at a-all” She replied
Her hands felt warm against her face. Her embrace was caring.
As they drew closer to each other, they shared a passionate kiss with each other.
Soon they broke from each other’s grasp.
“This was the BEST first date ever!” Nicole excitedly shouted.
“S-same here…” Claire quietly replied
Soon after, the pair walked home with Claire having Nicole’s red kiss on her cheek and Nicole having Claire’s pink on hers.
