Work Text:
"Look at them," Lisa said, chuckling. "You'd think they were all little kids."
Jean smiled. It was cute; the Grandmaster was running around in the shallows with Klee shrieking maniacally on his shoulders. Amber and Eula were wrestling in the water. Mona was… well, she appeared to be trying to get everyone safe on the sand into the ocean. Her efforts mostly consisted of splashing them with water. Jean wasn't sure if it was working or not from this far away.
"They might as well be," she said, laughing softly. "After all, it's my duty to take care of them."
"Tsk, tsk," Lisa chided. "You don't have to watch them all the time, you know. They can take care of themselves."
"Unfortunately, I'd say Klee is probably the most aware of her surroundings out of the whole group. That is to say, none of them are being responsible."
"Mmm. You're not wrong. But do they need to be? We're on vacation, after all."
"Someone should be," Jean said. "Even if it has to be me."
In the distance, she could see Kaeya chasing Varka and Klee through the knee high water. All three of them harbingers of chaos. It would be a miracle if they somehow got through the day with no fish blasting incidents.
"We're on vacation," Lisa repeated. "They're bound to be a little crazy. Let them get it out before we go back."
"I just—"
"Hmm, maybe I'll do something irresponsible. Then you'll have to keep your eyes on me instead."
Jean turned toward her to ask her what on Teyvat she meant by that, only to find her lips meeting Lisa's. Warm and soft and there were a million things running through her head and nothing all at once, and it was over as soon as it had started.
"Lisa," she started, panicked—
"Oh, hush. Let me take care of you for once."
Jean closed her eyes. Maybe it wasn't the best decision to be making, but it certainly didn't feel like a bad one. The others would just have to fend for themselves for awhile.
