"Well, the road is snowed in," Bruno said disappointedly, leaning back in his seat. "We won't be able to leave or return. We stand in traffic and wait for a miracle I guess."
"I told you so. We should to take the train," Leone grumbled. "And we'd be home tomorrow."
Bruno glanced at him and turned away. Leone cursed himself for his tongue.
He'd seen what Bruno was like after visiting his mother. Each such visit ended with Bruno withdrawing into himself and being too quiet. He had no place in his mother's family.
But he couldn't not go – she was his mother. Even though Bruno and his stepfather couldn't stomach each other, and his twin stepsisters didn't take him seriously. A brother comes once a year with gifts, the rest is not important.
How else can you think about bad weather, tickets, and all that nonsense? Leone should have thought about it himself.
"Well, we have two ways. We'll keep warm in the car until morning, and then the storm will settle down and we'll be able to leave somehow... or we'll go outside now and walk to the train station."
Bruno looked thoughtfully out the window, where a blizzard was raging and grimaced. This is not uncommon for Milan, but usually they managed to get back before such bad weather.
"I choose the first option,"he smiled. "And I know how we will keep warm. By the way, we even have food, wine and coffee in a thermos."
Leone smiled, reached out and kissed Bruno.
"I don't think we'll get to the point of eating in this case."
Fuck Bruno's family. Leone will do everything to make sure that Bruno remembers only the good things about this trip.
