Your body was melted into the bed, every muscle still very much asleep.
Diana was lying beside you, her warm body keeping you from freezing in the cold winter nights. She had opened her eyes quite a bit ago, and the city waited for nobody, but she was willing to wait for you. It's not like she isn't in a league meant to protect the city. She has multiple people to cover for her.
"Good morning, dear..." Diana ran the back of her hand against your cheek, seeing as you had finally stirred a little.
"How are you feeling?"
Your eyes flutter open, and she curved her lips to a smile, genuine and bright. The morning sun peaked through the cracks in your blackout curtains to illuminate her hair. Gods, she was beautiful. How did you ever manage to bag her?
You blink slowly and stretch your arms out above your head, letting out a small squeak and groan.
"Awh, big morning stretch..." Diana gently took your cheek in a hand, pressing a warm kiss to your forehead.
She lingered for a moment, pulling back to look at your pretty eyes again, "I'll go make breakfast..."
You let out a small whine, inching closer to her, and rolling over. Why does she want to leave already? It wasn't her turn to go on morning duty...
"Okay, okay, I'll stay..." She quickly agreed with you, wrapping an arm around your torso, and leaning against your back.
"I won't leave until both of us are too hungry to function." She joked, though there was truth to it. You couldn't go long without having issues, and nor could she.
But for now, you think that's a risk you're willing to take...
