Finals were coming up. Tsukasa was struggling more than he’d like to admit.
After one of the study sessions he had with Rui, Toya, Mizuki, and the others, he walked home with Rui. He was hoping to ask him something.
“Rui?”
Rui looked at him with his signature cat smile. “Yes, Tsukasa-kun?”
“Would you help me study extra? Physics really doesn’t want this future star to reach his full potential!” Tsukasa admitted. “I need all the help I can get!”
Rui giggled in response. “Of course, that sounds feasible. When are you free?”
“Does after practice tonight work for you? You can come to my house and I’ll walk you home!”
Rui smiled. “Wow, how gentlemanly of you~” He paused and thought for a moment. “That should work. My parents are on a work trip, so they won’t mind.”
“Excellent!”

That evening, the two boys sat at Tsukasa’s desk working on practice questions.
“…so that’s the answer,” Rui finished explaining.
“Can you explain the last step again? I’m not sure I got it down.”
“Of course. In simple terms…”
Why did Tsukasa only realize now how handsome Rui was with his hair pulled back into a ponytail? He tried to focus his attention on Rui’s explanation, but it all went back to how stunning Rui looked.
“Tsukasa-kun?”
“Hm?” Tsukasa finally focused.
“Do I have something on my face?”
Tsukasa’s face turned red. “Oh— no, nothing, I’m sorry!”
Rui leaned in a little closer. “What is it, then? You were staring.”
Tsukasa looked away and sighed. “I’m afraid you’re quite handsome, Rui.”
Now it was Rui’s turn to get flustered. “Eh? Where did this come from?”
There was no turning back at this point. “You look great with a ponytail. You should wear your hair like this more often.”
Rui averted his gaze as if that would hide his very obvious blush. “…I see.”
When he felt a warm pressure against his cheek, he looked up and saw Tsukasa closer than before.
“I love you, Rui.”
Was that a kiss on the cheek??
“Ah…” Rui chuckled. “I love you as well, my star.”
They stared at each other silently before Tsukasa quickly turned back to his work. “We got sidetracked! I’m sorry, Rui, what were you saying?”
“Right. So, after you complete…”
It’s likely they spent more time gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes than studying physics.

Rui ended up staying way later than he thought. Tsukasa told him he can stay the night.
Rui, of course, couldn’t turn down such a tempting offer. He wanted to cuddle with his boyfriend!
Tsukasa gave him an oversized shirt and pajama pants before sending him to the bathroom to shower.
While in the shower, Rui thought about what Tsukasa had said earlier. Tsukasa always compliments him, but he doesn’t hear “handsome” very often.
Rui really only put his hair up to keep it out of the way. He always did while working on robots or machines. Maybe he should have his hair up more if it means he gets to see his lovely boyfriend all flustered.
The downside is, that means Tsukasa would compliment him and he’ll also be flustered in return.
He shut off the water, dried off, got dressed, and left the bathroom.
The pajama pants were a little too short for Rui, but they were comfortable enough. The two boys climbed into Tsukasa’s bed and held each other close.
“I’m still baffled by your bed placement, Tsukasa-kun.” Rui ran his hands through his boyfriend’s hair.
“I don’t see anything wrong with it!”
“The headboard should be against a wall,” Rui stated with a yawn.
Tsukasa shook his head. “Come talk to me about my bed placement when you start sleeping on something other than a couch or your desk.”
“Ouch, Tsukasa-kun… you wound me!”
“Am I wrong?”
“I can’t believe you would say something like this to me! So cruel…”
Tsukasa rolled his eyes, smiling. “Quit being dramatic.”
“So mean, my star! I thought you were better than this—”
Tsukasa cut him off with a kiss. Rui melted into it, completely forgetting the fake argument.
Tsukasa pulled away, then left kisses all over Rui’s face, then down to his neck.
“Am I forgiven?” Tsukasa mumbled into his neck.
Rui’s face felt hot. “Yeah…”
“Good. Now go to sleep.” He left one last gentle kiss on Rui’s neck. “Love you, good night.”
“Love you, too…” Rui smiled. “Good night, my star.”

Saki went to wake her brother up for breakfast, but saw how content the two looked together and decided to let them sleep in a little longer.
How does Rui sleep comfortably with this guy? He was sprawled out on his bed while Rui clung to his side, perfectly happy.
She may have or may have not taken a picture.
And when Rui left, she may have shown Tsukasa.
And Tsukasa may have asked her to send it to him so he could make it his lock screen.
But who’s to say?
