Bow's eyes flickered open as he felt a warm feeling on his chest. He looked down, seeing the still sleeping form of Glimmer resting on him, the pink-haired queen having curled up her entire body around his much larger form. He just smiled and looked at her fondly, glad that she was able to rest after putting herself through so much leading the rebuilding effort now that the war was over.
To be honest, Bow had much to be thankful for in his life. His dads, his friends... but nothing compared to how important Glimmer had become to him since they'd gotten together. He hadn't even been sure if this was something that would happen. He had felt strongly about Glimmer for some years now and realised he had always loved her, and yet, so many other things had gotten in the way and to be honest, he had just been content to be Glimmer's friend.
But then Glimmer had told him that she loved him and it had all come full circle. And now, four months after the war, Bow was glad that waking up to Glimmer in his arms every morning was a wonderful new normal. He hoped that every day from now on could start just like this.
At that moment, Glimmer was still snoring softly and peacefully. Bow didn't want to disturb her but... well he couldn't help it. He'd missed her. He hadn't even remembered when she'd gotten into bed the night before. Then again, he didn't even remember when HE had fallen asleep. He gently pulled the covers together over both of them, making sure that Glimmer was going to stay warm.
Then, leaning in, Bow gently planted a kiss on Glimmer's forehead. Glimmer murmured and wiggled a little, gently kicking Bow in the side.
"Good morning, sleepy queen," Bow whispered lovingly, giving glimmer another forehead kiss.
Glimmer did respond... but it sure as heck wasn't in a language Bow understood. She mumbled tiredly, barely sounding coherent. Stars, Glimmer was so adorable when she was sleepy, not that she would admit it. Glimmer snuggled him closer, her head resting on Bow's exposed abs. Finally, Bow had a good reason to have those out all the time. Glimmer found them a very comfortable pillow.
"Is there... alliance meeting...?" Glimmer asked, her first actual words that day.
Bow shook his head. "No, that's the day after tomorrow. You can stay sleeping with me as much as you want, Glim."
"Mmm... good... that's nice... don't really wanna stand up and talk to people today..."Glimmer trailed off, before letting out a little humming that almost sounded like one of Catra's purrs.
"Awwww," Bow fawned over his precious sleepy girlfriend. "You are so cute when you're waking up."
"Mmmmm!" Glimmer grumbled, blushing and hiding face in her boyfriend's abs. After a few moments, she went still again, having fallen back to sleep.
Knowing he wasn't exactly going to be going anywhere soon, Bow then grabbed the book he'd been reading the night before from his bedside table, knowing he had a good opportunity to finally finish it. After all, Glimmer wasn't going to be getting up soon either. He sighed and turned the page, his free hand stroking Glimmer's hair as she was sound asleep.
It was another hour or so before Glimmer finally awoke again. As she looked up from his abs to her boyfriend's head, it was clear he was still reading. A little annoyed that the attention wasn't on her anymore, she sleepily reached up and pushed his hand away from the book. Bow let out a little laugh as he saw Glimmer's beautiful dusty-pink eyes staring at him, his hand ruffling her still very messy pink-purple bedhead.
"Good morning again!" Bow greeted her, the smile having never left his face.
"Good morning," Glimmer rubbed the sleep from her eyes. She then smiled and looked at Bow with utter devotion in her eyes, her boyfriend knowing exactly what she wanted now. Words didn’t need to be said.
As Bow put his book down, Glimmer crawled up her boyfriend's torso so she was now plopped right on his chest. With her hands, she gently cupped Bow's cheeks... before kissing him passionately. Bow let her kiss him, wrapping his arms around her. He knew how badly Glimmer needed her morning kisses from someone she loved to help start her day. Glimmer kept caressing Bow's face, kissing him lovingly and softly. Bow reached his hand out and threaded his fingers through Glimmer's hair before she eventually broke the kiss.
But that was before she suddenly started to pepper Bow's face with soft little pecks. Bow giggled and brought Glimmer's face to his own again, letting her kiss him on the lips again. Glimmer's arms surrounded Bow's neck as she poured all of her love into the act. Stars, was there a boy as beautiful as Bow? Glimmer certainly hadn't found one. Bow whimpered femininely as Glimmer kept kissing him, knowing he was all hers.
Eventually though, Glimmer broke the kiss, pressing her forehead to Bow. "I love you so much."
"I love you too... my wonderful Queen," Bow said besottedly.
"My dashing prince~" Glimmer flirted, before she captured his lips in a kiss again.
Bow blushed from the kiss and pulled back, his cheeks turning a dark shade of red, knowing exactly what Glimmer meant whenever she called him that. "Well um... I don't know if I'm Prince material... Knight in shining armour maybe?”
Glimmer giggled delightedly and kissed Bow more, grabbing his cheeks again. The Queen of Brightmoon felt truly blessed to have such loving and wonderful people in her life. Adora’s brave heart and radiant beauty, Catra’s snark and dashing feline looks, Bow’s loyal and never-ending positivity. She felt she was the luckiest Queen to have ever been on Brightmoon’s throne.
“You know the role of my knight is currently taken by Adora,” Glimmer pointed out, smirking at her boyfriend.
“That’s true, she is very good at that,” Bow agreed.
"Adora is my brave knight and Catra is my dashing rogue... but you're my prince, my sweet, beautiful gorgeous prince.” Glimmer grinned. “And soon to be my King.”
Bow realised he wasn't getting out of this one easily and just surrendered to Glimmer's kissing again, pulling the covers around both of them. He closed his eyes and let himself give in to what Glimmer wanted. He was all hers and would be fore the rest of time. Glimmer's loving kisses continued, her hands still firmly keeping Bow in her grasp. She had spent years wanting to finally kiss him.
Just then however, Bow and Glimmer's moment was interrupted by the sound of something crashing outside, and the sound of feet scampering across the hall, especially the sound of someone clearly sprinting on all fours. It was Catra and the footsteps behind her were clearly Adora chasing her.
"Get back here, Catra!" Adora called out. "You can't run forever!"
"Oh come on, Adora, just admit you look better with your hair down!"
"That doesn't give you the excuse to steal my hair tie!"
"Well then come and take it from me, slowpoke! At least try to keep up!"
Bow sighed, rolling his eyes. "Looks like Adora and Catra are up to their usual shenanigans again."
Glimmer let out another giggle. "I should probably take care of those two before they completely trash the castle again."
"What happened to you wanting to stay in bed?" Bow wondered with a little smirk.
"Well, once we've dealt with Adora and Catra, we can snuggle for the rest of the morning," Glimmer pointed out.
Bow hummed in content as he felt Glimmer touch his face. "That sounds good to me," he agreed, before Glimmer held his hand and they teleported to where Adora and Catra were, instantly disappearing from their bed in a flash of sparkling light.
