Work Text:
Jiahao stumbled down the street, his cheeks red and his limbs heavy.
Annoyed and tired after he’d gotten dragged to a work dinner where the boss had kept pouring him drink after drink.
He was drunk. Perhaps more drunk than he’d ever been.
His lamp had broken last night after he knocked it off his desk. He tried changing the broken lightbulb but it still wouldn’t turn on.
Now he had no light in his room and he had papers to write.
He’d planned to buy a new one today, after finishing his work.
He crossed the street in a daze. He didn’t know if he still had time before the furniture store closed. In the back of his mind he thought maybe it was a bad idea going into the store drunk.
As he came around the corner and saw the store lights on, he figured he wasn’t too bad at hiding the fact he was intoxicated. He would just get a lamp and go home. Save himself the trouble tomorrow.
“Hi” He greeted the lady behind the desk, wobbling slightly. He was about to ask for help when another customer strolled past him and started asking about a sofa.
The lady smiled at him apologetically. “Just wait a little, I'll help you next” she said, hurrying across the room with the other customer.
Jiahao stood there waiting for a bit, pouting. Annoyed by the other customer cutting in line.
She took a while, and he was getting bored waiting.
He tried to look around for lamps, stumbling around the store.
He was attempting to walk as straight as he could but he was failing horribly. He was searching for the lamp section, but instead strolled into the bed section.
He tripped over a rug and caught himself with his hands on the edge of one of the beds.
He grabbed at the soft duvet. Falling into a trance as he stared at the purple covers and pretty patterns. He ran his hands over them and sat down, the mattress was soft. Much softer than the one he had.
He lied down as he waited. Eyes all of a sudden feeling heavy, he blinked them open then closed them for longer. Longer for each time.
He could just close his eyes for a minute, just until the lady was back to help him. He pulled the covers up to his chin and closed his eyes. Breathing heavy, cheeks turning warmer. He buried under the covers fully, away from the glaring lights.
His mind was spinning like a rollercoaster, suddenly the alcohol hit like never before. He couldn’t move a limb, he was gone.
He heard a voice, he didn’t register where he was or whose voice it was. Everything was a blur. He was dreaming, surely, this was a dream.
There was a really pretty face, a nice voice. He should get closer, even closer.
‘I want him’ was all he could think.
—
Junseo was getting sleepy, even though his evening shift had just started. He worked as security for a few businesses nearby. It wasn’t busy, never much happening until later in the evenings.
He yawned, remembering what the employee had said during the call. She had heard rustling noises in the store as she was closing. She had seemed scared that someone was inside, so Junseo told her to close up and leave.
He drove over there quickly, it was a short drive. He fumbled in his pocket, finding a copy of the keys to the store. When he got in he typed in the code for the security system.
Junseo calmly turned the security systems off, expecting to find nothing and no one as usual. Most calls he got like this the noises were from neighbours or came from the pipes.
He walked through the isles quietly, scanning for anything unusal as he listened for noises. He didn’t hear or see anything at first. That was until he heard a small rustling noise coming from near the corner of the room.
That must have been what the employee had heard. It was an unsettling noise, and there was no doubt it was from inside the room.
He wondered if a cat had gotten in there, which had happened before when he’d gotten similar calls about noises.
His pulse was increasing as he made his way towards the beds. He stopped for a moment to listen, the noise had halted. He walked closer and got near one of the double beds. It was covered in silk sheets, with a bunch of pillows by the headboard.
The covers seemed crumpled, almost as if something was underneath. His eyes turned wide as the duvet suddenly rustled. He noticed a few strands of light brown hair peeking out from under the covers.
There was actually someone there.
Junseo’s heart beat picked up as he readied himself, straightening up his posture and turning his professional voice on.
“Hey. This is security” He said strictly, preparing to either be ambushed or profusely apologized to.
“Come out or I have to call the police”
He didn’t expect… Nothing. Nothing at all. The person stayed still.
Then he heard the soft and even breathing. This person wasn’t hiding at all, they were sleeping.
Junseo stood dumbfounded, blinking at the lump under the covers. He hesitated, hands twitching as he pulled down the covers, slowly revealing who had been hiding underneath.
A man was lying on his side, features soft as he rested peacefully, as if he was at home in his own bed.
“Excuse me sir… Uhm… The store is closed” Junseo tried again, tone less firm this time. Not wanting to startle the boy. Perhaps it was just a customer who’d accidentally fallen asleep, strange, but possible.
He finally stirred, brows furrowing. A hand twitched as it peeked out of the covers.
He opened his eyes, which were completely glazed over. He blinked slowly as he stared up at Junseo, still barely reacting.
His cheeks were pink, lips protruding in a pout.
The scent of liquor and a rosy perfume swirled in the air. He was quite clearly drunk.
“Sir. Do you know where you are?” He tried, still no response, just confused eyes blinking at him.
“You are in a store right now and it’s closed” Junseo said. Worried more than anything.
“Huh?” The boy hummed, blinking faster. “A dream?” His dark eyes widening just a little.
“If you don’t leave I will have to remove you forcefully, do you understand?”
“I don’t want to leave” he slurred his words, a strangely calm voice, silky, like the sheets.
The boy didn’t seem to understand. He pulled the sheets back over his face instead. Junseo huffed and leaned over to grab the covers. He calmly pulled them off the intoxicated man.
“Tis cold” He mumbled with a frown, half sitting up now, wobbling back and forth like a seesaw.
“Sir. You have to come with me” Junseo said, giving him a moment to process before going into action. He was still not moving from the bed, looking just as confused and sleepy as before.
Junseo sighed as the other closed his eyes, as if he was going to fall back to sleep sitting up. The guy was harmless, not a threat, just clearly not in his right mind.
He leaned forward, grabbing the others arm to pull him up from the bed. He didn’t budge.
The boys eyes shot down to the hand holding his arm then up to Junseo’s face. Cat-like eyes met his own, staring for what felt like way too long.
Abruptly, hands rushed towards him. Before he could react he was being grabbed and tugged forward.
“Hey- AGH”Junseo exclaimed, completely in shock as the other suddenly pulled him down onto the bed.
Clearly he had let his guard down, the other was stronger than he looked.
Junseo’s muscles tensed as he pushed back, the others hands still gripping him tightly.
Junseo was ready to fight, ready for a full on wrestling match. He took in a quick and steadying breath.
But just when he was about to curl his hand into a fist and strike, the others hands loosened their grip.
Junseo stilled completely as a pair of arms were snaking around his waist. Forceful, but not threateningly, strangely soft.
Junseo completely froze, heart thundering in his chest. They were on their sides facing each other.
The boy shuffled closer, pulling at Junseo’s waist until their bodies pressed together.
His waist burned where hands tightened around him. Skin littering with goosebumps as the boy's hair tickled his nose.
The brown haired boy snuggled further into the nook of his shoulder and let out a content hum.
Junseo was in complete awe. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. His hands were on the others shoulders, just a moment away from shoving him off.
He didn’t know why he couldn’t do it, why he couldn’t just push him away and drag him out of there. That’s what he always did with drunk guys who refused to leave.
This wasn’t just some drunk guy though. He wasn’t aggressive or arguing, he was calm. Just acting in very strange ways.
Strange ways that made Junseo’s heart skip a beat. It didn’t help that he was pretty. That his hair smelled so good, like roses and sweet wine.
His pulse was rapid, getting louder in his ears. Junseo bit the inside of his cheek. He fought away the thoughts of just letting whatever this was continue.
He pushed the others shoulders until he budged.
The other's fingers grabbed at his shirt, refusing to be pushed away. His head shot up, looking at him through his lashes.
A puzzled expression, his lips turned down. As if he was sad Junseo had tried to push him away, almost offended.
“Don’t leave” He said, commanded almost.
“Hey… You’re drunk” Junseo said, nearly breathless, looking back into the black pools that were eyes.
He swallowed hard as he grabbed the boy's arms and wrangled himself out his grip. He didn’t understand how he’d gotten himself into this situation.
“You have to leave.” He said firmly and stood up, as if it would hide the fact that his face was blooming red.
“Sorry” The boy said after a few seconds of silence. He sat up fully, a frown taking over his face as he blinked fast.
He sat there processing, blinking slowly.
“Is this… A furniture store?” He said, finally looking around the room.
“Yes and it’s closed, so come with me.” Junseo said, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow.
“What…” The boy said, pursing his lips as he stood up on wobbly legs.
Junseo caught him as he stumbled forward.
“Woah” he muttered.
His hands on Junseo’s shoulders to steady himself. Junseo put his hands on his waist holding him in place.
He appeared to realize something, ears turning a dark shade of red, eyes widening.
“How did I get here?” He said, as if Junseo had something to do with it, which he didn’t.
“You were sleeping, I don’t know why you’re here”
“I- I’m sorry… I can’t remember anything”
Junseo’s chest tightened, he held back a smile. There was something awfully endearing about him, he struggled to calm himself.
“Come on. I’ll drive you home”
His tone was softer now. He pulled the other's arm over his shoulder and walked them out of the building. Hand tingling where he was still holding the other's waist.
He turned the security system back on and locked the door before leading the boy to his car that was parked outside.
He was quiet as Junseo put on his seatbelt for him. Eyes still distant, not quite sober still.
He asked where he lived, he told him the address, so he wasn’t as far gone as he was earlier.
“Uhm. You’re security right?”
He looked down at Junseo's uniform.
“I uh… I did something strange, didn't I?” His voice was nearly a whisper, he bit his lip.
Junseo smiled, almost letting out a laugh.
“Yeah. You did”
“I thought I was dreaming… I’m so sorry”
He hid his face in his hands, everything seeming to be coming back to him bit by bit.
Junseo peeked over at him as he drove. Maybe too many times.
“What’s your name?” Junseo eventually asked. His stomach churned at the thought of never knowing the boys name.
“Jiahao” He said.
A pretty name.
“I’m Junseo”
When he parked near the address he gulped. A strange feeling, as if he couldn’t just leave the other alone.
“Can you walk?” Junseo asked, their eyes meeting.
“I’m not sure”
Jiahao bit his lip, eyes fluttering as if sending him a signal.
Junseo got out of the car, opening the door for the other and helping him up to his feet.
His brain turned to mush as their bodies got close again. His hands numb as they gripped Jiahao’s slim waist.
He seemed to have sobered up during the drive, he wasn’t stumbling any more and his eyes weren’t as dazed. Junseo realized, perhaps he was putting on an act. Letting Junseo hold him close and walk him home.
Junseo’s cheeks flushed, hoping it wasn’t just his wishful thinking.
They got to his door and he let go of Jiahao, a bit reluctantly. As if he was a magnet that was stuck to the other.
“I’m sorry again”
He looked down to his feet, voice smooth and warm like honey. Junseo quickly shook his head, as if saying ‘don’t worry’.
“Sorry to ask you this but… Can I have your number?” Junseo blurted out, not thinking. But not being able to let this go. Certain that he would regret it if he didn’t get to see him again.
Jiahao’s eyes widened, searching Junseo’s face. He nodded after a few seconds.
his entire body burned with feverish heat.
Junseo stared blatantly as the other typed his number into his phone. A careful hand reached to give him his phone back.
He swallowed hard as their eyes met.
“Thank you”
His breath caught in his throat. The tension just kept growing between them, a strange unfamiliar tightness in his chest. It was making him feel insane.
He was about to walk away before he did something he shouldn’t.
He took a step back, but as soon as he did Jiahao took a step closer to him, blinking faster. His eyes shot to the ground, avoiding his.
They stood in silence for a moment, until Jiahao took another step closer.
Junseo’s heart leapt. Brown hair rustled in the wind as he came even closer. Hands reached forward, sliding up Junseo's arms.
His entire body burst into tingles, he felt the touch all the way to his core.
A hand reached for his cheek and Junseo stopped breathing, stopped thinking. All he knew was that he wanted whatever Jiahao was going to do, he wanted it badly.
A soft peck was left on his lips. The sweet scent of cherry and roses was turning him dizzy.
“Sorry… Couldn’t hold back” Jiahao whispered, squeezing his eyes shut as if in disbelief.
Junseo’s mind was spinning, eyes wide and unfocused. His breath was picking up. Electricity buzzing between them.
It wasn’t enough.
Junseo reached for the other's waist before he could pull away.
He caught his lips again. A hand traveling up to his neck, feeling the ends of soft hair.
Jiahao kissed him back, moving his lips slowly against his. Noses on cheeks. Lips pressing harder, then faster.
The noises felt obscene.
Jiahao deepened the kiss, turning his head further to the side. Their lips slotted together perfectly, breaths uneven
Junseo hummed into the kiss, stomach leaping as Jiahao closed the distance between their bodies. Chest against chest, back arched into him.
It turned hot and heavy way too fast, he could barely think. All he could do was feel the others lips, his body. His breath. As if he had never truly lived until that moment.
Jiahao pushed his tongue out and licked at his lips. The way he whined into the kiss made him go insane, he wanted more. He wanted everything.
An uneasy feeling snapped him out of his dazed desire. They just met, he didn’t want it to end with just this. Something purely physical.
He wanted more than that, something deeper. He wanted to know who this mysterious and criminally sensual man was, what he liked, what he had been doing shit faced in that furniture store.
He gathered his willpower and pulled away. Breaths heavy as lidded eyes met.
“Shit” Junseo breathed.
“I should go before I…” Junseo trailed off, not wanting to say exactly what he was thinking right now.
He didn’t miss the way Jiahao bit his lip.
The impatient look in his eyes.
«Sorry. I keep being crazy” Jiahao said, squeezing his eyes shut.
“Just… Let me get to know you before you get any more crazy” Junseo smiled, leaning in and pecking his cheek.
Jiahao held his cheek, red all over as he smiled.
Junseo wanted to see more of that smile.
“Okay”
