“You know I like a challenge.” He grabs your hand and lifts it above your head to twirl you. You halfheartedly go along with it, doing a slow spin before facing him again. You give him a pointed look. “You look gorgeous in this dress, baby.”
You sniffle and shake your head. The words and reassurances aren’t piercing the fog clouding your mind.
“You do,” he insists, smoothing his hands over your belly. He ducks down to kiss at your neck, beneath your jaw, and along your shoulder. Anywhere he can access, stubble rasping against your soft skin. You grip his forearms, and feel them flex beneath your hands. “Need me to show you?”
