Author's note : In this story, Lorelai has opened the Dragonfly Inn with Sookie and Rory is 10 years old . Luke and Lorelai are married . Enjoy reading and let me know what u think of the story .

It was Lorelai Gilmore's favorite day . It was snowing and she had a nice hot cup of coffee from Luke's Diner next to her while she worked .
Suddenly , she heard Michel screaming and another softer voice begging him for something.
Curious at what was happening outside , she opened her office door and saw Michel screaming at a girl who looked like she was 16 with blond hair and sea green eyes . Next to her was a pram and inside was a baby girl .
" Michel what is going on? Why are you screaming at this girl ? "
" I can't deal with this anymore . I am not paid enough to do this . " he said angrily as he stomped out of the inn .
" Hi . May I help you ? " asked Lorelai as she took Michel place at the desk.
" My name is Anastasia . This is my daughter Aurora . I was asking your concierge if I could have a room here and if there are any jobs available . " Anastasia said scared of her reply for she had nowhere else to go .
" My name is Lorelai. I am the owner of this inn . We do have some jobs here but the inn is full . May I ask what kind of job you are hoping to get ? " said Lorelai .
" I am willing to do anything to earn money so I can look after my daughter " said Anastasia .
Lorelai looked at her and gave a small smile her mind flashing back to 9 years ago where she had said those words to Mia at the Independence Inn while she clutched 1 year old baby Rory , afraid that someone might try to take Rory away from her . She took a closer look at Anastasia and saw that Anastasia was wearing a dirty jacket filled with holes that was unsuitable for today's cold weather . Her shoes were filled with dirt and leaves .She is obviously at her wits end, thought Lorelai .
Lorelai took a deep breath and said " Ok .. as I said just now the inn is full , that part's true but I can handle the job part . We always need some extra hands for housekeeping. Is that alright with you ? "
" That is more than alright as long as I can watch Aurora while I work . " said Anastasia her eyes brimming with hope at the offer of a job .
" Great . I will draw up the contract later . Also , do you have another place to stay since the inn is full ? " asked Lorelai worried because the temperature was going to drop tonight .
" No . I will just sleep on a bench outside the inn . I have no place to stay in ." said Anastasia .
" Look , I need to pick up my daughter now so how about you stay here in the meantime and I will think of someplace where you can stay ok ? If you are hungry , go to the kitchen and ask for Sookie.Tell her Lorelai sent you and she will give you some food . I would be back in an hour ."
" Ok . Thank you so much for all your help ." said Anastasia gratefully .
Lorelai left the inn and drove to Star Hallow Elementary School to pick up Rory .
" Mum . You are here ! " shouted Rory flying into Lorelai's open arms , a big smile on her face .
" Hi baby . I am sorry . I said we were going to the park but I have to work at the inn today .However if Lane's mom is okay , you and Lane can watch a movie and have some snacks while I work . " said Lorelai .
" Ok . " said Rory as she rushed over to Ms. Kim and talked to her for 5 minutes before she allowed Lane to come with her .
" Alright you two . Get into the jeep .We are going to the inn ." said Lorelai .
At the inn , Lorelai got Lane and Rory settled and watching a movie on her laptop while she went to the kitchen to check on Sookie and Anastasia .
When she opened the kitchen's door , she was shocked . Anastasia was chopping vegetables while being directed and encouraged by Sookie .
" Wow Sookie . She must be really good if you have her working in the kitchen ." commented Lorelai glad that Sookie liked her .
" She is really great . With some training she can be my assistant ."said Sookie excited .
" I see . How do you feel working under Sookie in the kitchen ? If not you can do housekeeping with some of the other staff ." asked Lorelai .
" I am happy to do anything . You have already helped me so much ." said Anastasia .
" What do you think Sookie ? Should I start drafting up the contract for us to sign?" asked Lorelai .
" Of course .Start drafting it immediately so I can start giving her proper training ." said Sookie .
" Great . Sookie , Lane and Rory are in my office watching a movie and they would like some snacks . Anastasia please follow me .I have thought of somewhere you can stay for the night . "
Lorelai walked out into the kitchen and climbed the stairs and opened a door and switched on the lights revealing a small room with a heater ,bed , wardrobe and toilet .
" This used to be the room where we would have meetings but now we have them in the lobby so I was thinking you could use it until we can find you some alternative accommodations . If there is anything you need , just ask me and Sookie. "
" Ok . I am going to feed Aurora then take a nap even though it is only 4. I am so tired. Also do you know where I can get more diapers , lotion , baby bottles blankets and pacifiers? I didn't really plan when I left," said Anastasia doubting her decision to leave .
" Sweetheart go and have a nap . I will help you get all those stuff . I love shopping . Just let me know what size diapers to get .' said Lorelai confidently .
" Ok . She is a size 4 . Thank you for helping me get all these stuff . I will pay you back soon," said Anastasia relieved as Aurora started to cry .
" Don't cry . Please go back to sleep ." said Anastasia, desperate as she was tired and embarrassed at the amount of noise she was making .
" Sweetheart , why don't you take Aurora while you give me the formula and baby bottle and I will go and make her some milk . Is that ok ? " said Lorelai gently .
" Ok . Thank you for your help ." said Anastasia as she rocked Aurora on the bed ,trying to get her to stop crying while giving Lorelai the small can of formula and a baby bottle from her bag under the pram .
Lorelai went downstairs and with some help from Sookie made warm milk for Aurora and gave it to Anastasia who gave it to Aurora who latched on immediately , drinking from the bottle in soft and eager gulps .
" Anastasia , we are going to have dinner at the inn at 7.30 . Will you like to join us ? "
" Yes . Thank you for asking me ." said Anastasia .
Lorelai nodded in reply and left the room to call Luke . She explained to him about Anastasia and Aurora and that they were going to join them for dinner tonight at the inn . She also said that she was going to the baby store in Hartford now with Lane and Rory to buy baby supplies for Aurora . Luke wanted to go to the mall in Hartford with them so they waited at the inn until he walked in the lobby where he was greeted by Rory and Lane's laughter .
