Chapter 1: the poem

Chapter Text

there's a woman sitting at the window

a comely but lonely widow

she locks the doors and shuts off the light

“will you be my star tonight?”

lovely red roses, pockets of posies

stained wedding gown, we all fall down

the woman by the window

tall, shy widow

cleans the beer puddles staining the floor

and sits back at the window

waiting once more.

The woman at the window

waiting for her intro

but instead greets nothing

and goes back to rotting

in the deep corner

she writes a note

and turns out the light.
