Work Text:

Megan really likes Sophia.

Megan remembered the exact day she saw Sophia, remembered the exact feeling she felt in her stomach.

Was it excitement? Nerves? Megan couldn’t tell, but every time she looked at Sophia, she felt the same feeling over and over again.

It was small at first, Megan would occasionally think of Sophia, smile a little wider when she saw Sophia in the hallway, and looked at her a couple times during class.

But the more times she saw Sophia, the more the girl took over Megan’s body, soul, and mind. It got to the point where Megan couldn’t go a second without thinking of the beautiful girl.

Her focus in class was already a struggle for her, and Sophia seemed to make it even worse.

How was Megan not supposed to think about Sophia? Sophia was gorgeous. Sophia was the girl that Megan had been hoping she would find.

Megan thought of Sophia so much, there was almost no room for anything academically related to stay in her brain.

The crush had gotten so bad, it had started to mess with Megan’s dreams. Megan would come home from a long day at school plus soccer practice, and just want to rest and get rested for the next day.

But of course, her mind had other plans.

Her head would hit the pillow, and her mind filled with thoughts of Sophia, and scenarios of Sophia until Megan fell asleep, just to be met with seeing the girl in her dream.

Megan never liked school, but she liked Sophia, and she only ever saw Sophia at school.

Now, Megan hates Fridays and loves Mondays.

She started to get ready for school, with a smile on her face, excited to see Sophia and hear her voice. Sophia’s voice was addicting.

Sophia is a drug, and Megan wants to overdose.

Megan couldn’t hold a conversation if Sophia was around, Megan always got distracted by the girls long hair, or the way she walks, or by the way she smiles and waves at Megan when she walks by.

“You’re so cooked.” Lara commented, watching Megan get distracted by Sophia for what seemed like the millionth time since they arrived at school.

Lara’s commented faded out as Megan focused on Sophia, who was talking to her closest friend, Yoonchae. Well Megan assumed that Yoonchae was Sophias closest friend since she always saw them together.

Megan wished she could be the closest to Sophia.

“She’s so amazing.” Megan stared at her ceiling, lying on her bed while her phone was next to her.

Lara, who was on the other side of the phone, had heard Megan rant about Sophia a million times before, and Megan’s obsession seemed to get worse every time.

Lara was the first person Megan had called when Megan realized she liked Sophia. It wasn’t super late, it was 9:07 pm, March 15th, spring break.

Of course Megan remembered, it was a day that seriously changed her life in so many ways, some good, some bad.

“Yeah she is, isn’t she?” Lara answered. Lara wasn’t sick of Megan ranting about Megan, she was sick of Megan just admiring Sophia instead of doing anything.

It’s not like Megan and Sophia weren’t friends, they were actually good friends, but Megan’s biggest fear was being rejected and ruining the friendship she cherished so much.

Megan only had 2 classes with Sophia. These were classes that Megan would usually skip, since she had no care for them and would rather do anything else.

But when she walked into class this year, and saw Sophia sitting down at a desk, she vowed to never skip again. She sat right next to Sophia, and Sophia seemed overjoyed to see Megan in the class.

Those two classes brought Megan and Sophia closer together.

Megan sighed and turned onto her side. “shes just so beautiful and genuinely one of the nicest people i’ve ever met.” Megan’s heart leaped in her chest as she talked about Sophia.

“she seriously made me feel happy again.” Megan paused, thinking about how Sophia’s smile and energy made her enjoy life more and appreciate everything, Sophia was just that positive.

Megan traced shapes on her mattress. “she doesnt know any of the impact she has had on my life.” She said sombrely, staring at the phone screen that had turned off, but Lara’s breathing could still be heard on the other side.

Lara agreed with a hum, knowing that she didn’t have to respond to Megan, she knew Megan just wanted her to listen.

“there is so much to like about her. she makes me wanna go to school and i hate it, because i hate going to school. i hate math, i hate socials; she makes it bearable. she makes me want to go.”

Megan rolled back onto her back, her eyes meeting the ceiling again. As she stared at the white ceiling, her mind showed her an image of Sophia, of course.

Megan smiled, thinking of the girl’s beauty.

Megan blinked. “shes literally the kind of girl you meet in your dreams. shes too perfect for this world” Her hand’s rested on her chest, feeling her rapid heartbeat as Sophia infected her mind.

As much as Megan thought of Sophia, it wasn’t always happy. There was always the doubt that Sophia would never like Megan back.

Those thoughts haunted Megan more than she liked. They made her go insane, made her chest hurt, make her heart feel like it was being torn in half.

But when she wasn’t caught up in her fantasy daydream, she knew that it was likely that her feelings weren’t reciprocated.

Megan had tried, REALLY tried to like someone else, but of course, all roads lead back to Sophia.

“dude i tried to convince myself i liked Yoonchae instead of her.” Megan confessed, which totally caught Lara off guard.

Megan had confessed that sometimes she wished she wasn’t so in love with Sophia, and instead was in love with someone who loved her just as much, but this was really the first time Lara was hearing about this.

Megan paused. A beat passed before she continued. “it did work, for little bit. but every time i looked at Yoonchae, I could only think about Sophia.”

“Plus, half the time Yoonchae and Sophia are together, and as much as I wanted my eyes to land on Yoonchae, they always made their way back to Sophia.”

Megan talked about Sophia for hours on the phone, until she ended up falling asleep on call with Lara. Even being on call with another person didn’t distract Megan’s mind from thinking of Sophia.

As Megan drifted to sleep, images and thoughts of Sophia filled her brain, like always.

She fell asleep, just to dream about Sophia.

Her dreams were always so vivid, especially when they were about Sophia. So her dreams were vivid all the time.

In her dream, it was a long field, with tall grass and flowers.

Dream Megan sneezed and rubbed her itchy nose, because apparently in dreams you still aren’t immune to allergies.

She turned around, and suddenly she was at school, and of course, Sophia was there.

The hallways were empty, only Sophia was there standing in the middle of it, looking beautiful as ever in the schools basic uniform she somehow made looked majestic.

Dream Megan wasn’t immune to feeling her cheeks turn red and hot either, but it was the only appropriate reaction on to seeing someone as beautiful as Sophia.

Sophia stepped forward, which caused dream Megan to fall backwards and suddenly end up back in the empty field.

Megan looked around, frantically trying to find Sophia, missing seeing the girl’s face, even if it was just a dream.

“I haven’t gone anywhere, Megan.” Sophia’s sweet voice filled Megan’s ear.

Dream Megan chuckled softly, not knowing how to respond to the soothing voice that could tell her to do anything.

Megan stopped spinning in circles and stayed still. “Oh yeah?” She responded, looking down at her feet, seeing she was wearing her school uniform.

Looking back up, suddenly Sophia was in front of her, and was close…really close.

“You think about me a lot.”

“I know.”

“I can’t help it.”

Was Megan really getting called out by a dream version of Sophia? And why was Megan nervous about it?

Sophia smiled. God. That smile always drove Megan insane. It was perfect.

“You’re really cute, Megan. You know that?”

It might be a dream, but even hearing those words with Sophia’s voice made Megan’s heart do a flip.

Megan let out a stupid, awkward giggle. She always seemed to do that around Sophia. Sophia made her nervous and unable to talk; she was always distracted by her beauty to form real sentences.

Sophia brushed her arm against Megan’s, causing Megan to tense up. Sophia’s touches were gentle, all the more reasons why she loved Sophia.

Sophia tilted her head, her eyes studying Megan’s face, which Megan had noticed and now she was self conscious “Is there something…wrong?”

“Are you okay?” Sophia asked, eyes still focused on Megan’s face.

“Uh…” Megan’s words caught in her throat. She talked to Sophia all the time, why couldn’t she answer a simple question. “Uhm.”

Megan tried to speak, really tried, but no words came out. It was torture watching Sophia’s face turn from concern, to annoyance slowly.

“You never tell me how you are feeling.” Sophia’s voice was quieter. “I always ask, and you never respond.”

Megan’s heart squeezed itself. She knew she had a problem with communicating, but hearing it come from Sophia hurt a little more than she thought.

“I….I just…uhm I just.” Stupid Megan. She thinks she can date the girl of her dreams without being able to express her feelings.

How can Megan expect Sophia to know how she feels without being able to express her feelings.

Stupid.

Megan feels stupid.

This crush

Is stupid

Love is stupid.

Megan’s eyes shot open. Her chest was hurting from the dream. She hated when her brain was self aware.

She turned over to where she left her phone to see if Lara was still on the phone; Lara had hung up four hours ago. The betrayal was real.

Megan sent Lara a quick text about how she must hate her since she hung up, and what if Megan was dying during the night and Lara had hung up so Megan couldn’t get help.

It gave Megan a temporary distraction from her thoughts of Sophia, and the dream that had called her out using Sophia.

As soon as Megan started to think of Sophia, she started to get ready for school, hoping to distract herself again once more.

But of course, Megan couldn’t. She got ready, thinking if Sophia would like the way she did her hair, the way she did hear makeup, the way she styled her uniform.

Every little detail of Megan’s appearance was for Sophia. Everything she did was for Sophia to notice and hopefully make a comment on.

She thought the walk to school would be easier, since she had music to drown out her thoughts.

Except

Everyone love song was about Sophia. Her mind making connections from the lyrics to the filipina. It was torture the way her brain automatically made connections to Sophia.

Megan was unable to do anything but sigh and rub her forehead in defeat, not wanting to make her own day start off horrible with mind games.

Arriving at school at a surprisingly reasonable time instead of an hour late, Megan opened the large doors and enter the school.

The hallways weren’t crowded, but there was a good amount of people there talking loudly that reminded Megan why she’d rather stay at home and do anything else.

Until she saw the reason why she came to school leaning on her locker, books in hand, and talking to Yoonchae.

Megan wanted to say “Hi” but her mind overthought everything that could go wrong.

Megan could embarrass herself but not speaking loud enough, and she just looks like a fan.

Or worse, Sophia hears her and chooses to ignore her.

Maybe Megan says a cringe greeting like “greetings and salutations” and Sophia doesn’t think Megan is joking.

Maybe Megan just falls and eats shit, right in front of Sophia.

Why is saying “Hi” so difficult? It’s such a simple action, yet Megan can’t help but think of everything that could go wrong.

Sophia wasn’t mean, she would never judge Megan. So why was Megan worrying so much about this?

“Megan?”

Oh. This conclusion was worse than any of the ones Megan had thought of.

Sophia says “Hi” and Megan blanks out on her.

“Sorry?” Megan tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, trying to not make it obvious her stomach just dropped with embarrassment.

Megan’s eyes darted to Sophia’s face, only for a spilt second since eye contact with Sophia made her way more nervous than it should. But she stared long enough to admire the girl’s beauty.

She decided to stare at the lockers behind Sophia, so it at least looked like Megan was looking in her general direction.

Sophia chuckled softly; It was like music to Megan’s ears.

“I just said ‘Good morning’ and you stopped and just stared.” Sophia’s lips turned upward to form an amused smirk.

Megan felt her heart squeeze itself before doing a flip.

“Oh…haha…sorry about that. Good morning.” Megan awkwardly gave the greeting, making her immediately want to sink into the ground.

Saying “Good Moring” should never be this hard, unless you’re Megan, then it becomes a ranked sport.

Sophia looked at Yoonchae for a split second, just a second before she looked back at Megan.

But that split second glare made Megan’s mind spiral with thoughts she really didn’t want to have right now.

“Sophia thinks you’re weird.”

“She thinks you’re annoying”

“She doesn’t actually like you.”

Stupid Megan.

“Uhm…Well goodbye forever.” Megan turned and immediately walked away as fast as she could.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Megan made it to her homeroom where Lara was sitting in their usual spot by the window in the corner.

She pulled out her chair and sat down, her bag making a “thump” noise as it hit the ground.

Lara was on her laptop, staring blankly at the screen that wasn’t even on.

“Working hard, or hardly working?” Megan smiled, her voice shaky, trying to not crack into laughter.

Megan had stolen that line from one of their teachers from freshman year, a teacher who Lara didn’t get along with well. The teacher would always catch Lara only when she wasn’t on task, thus the phrase.

Megan had started using it as a joke ever since, and it drove Lara crazy.

“Oh my gosh, Megan, you’re hilarious.” Lara’s voice was laced with sarcasm as she side eyed Megan, but she couldn’t help the small smirk that cracked through her blank expression.

Megan took that as a win.

Lara let out a little giggle to herself before she spoke. “How’d you sleep? You passed out on call I could hear you snoring loudly.” Lara smiled, finally shutting the laptop that wasn’t turning on.

“My mind called me out about my horrible communication skills using the girl of my dreams”

“I know that’s right.”

“Wow.”

Their homeroom teacher finally walked in. It always amazed Megan that no matter how late she was to homeroom, her own homeroom teacher was always later.

“Did you see her this morning?” Lara questioned while grabbing Megan’s hand to look at her nails.

“Who?”

Lara glared at Megan.

“You know who.” Lara exaggerated her tone, making sure Megan got the hint of WHO she was talking about.

Megan was embarrassed to admit how slow it took her to realize who Lara was asking about.

“OH!” Her eyes widened with realization. Megan slammed her hands on the table and stood up, her chair making an annoying screeching sound.

Their homeroom teacher stopped taking attendance to stare at Megan, along with the rest of the students who actually cared enough to go to homeroom.

“Ms.Skiendiel-“

“My bad.” Megan sunk back into her seat and buried her face in her hands.

Lara had her hand clasped over her mouth, trying not to burst out laughing at Megan getting called out.

Megan seemed to have a habit of being louder and more distracting than she thought she was, and it led to some funny moments of teachers lecturing her, but thats usually all the punishment she got.

Lara pat Megan’s shoulder. “It’s okay.” Megan side eyed Lara, causing the girl to stop patting Megan’s shoulder.

“Right I know you’d rather Sophia touch you.”

Lara made these jokes all the time, so you’d think Megan would be used to them by now.

Megan’s face turned red. She had to restrain from jumping over the table to choke Lara.

“Ahaha…” Megan gave a sarcastic laugh, leaning back in her chair and trying to relax. “I saw her before coming here.”

Megan thought back to the interaction, cringing at how dense Megan had been.

“Oh yeah? What’d she say? ‘Oh my gosh Megan I LOVE YOU’ ?” Lara put her elbow on the table, resting her chin on her hand.

Megan couldn’t ignore that. She stomped Lara’s foot, causing Lara to bang her knee against the table while trying to pull her foot away.

“That wasn’t very nice, Megan.”

Megan smiled and blew a kiss to Lara.

Realizing the joke she just set up for Lara, she interrupted before Lara could even speak again.

“Shut up. Anyways I blanked out on her and then told her goodbye forever.”

Megan cringed at herself, again. The retelling was somehow worse than actually living the moment.

“It can’t be goodbye forever, you have math with her first block.”

The reminder made Megan shut her eyes, and remember all the times she wasn’t at school, and instead at home.

She also had math with Lara, but the seating plan that the teacher had made had conveniently made Megan and Sophia sit right next to each other.

“She probably thinks I’m so weird.” Megan groaned into her hands. “Like some days I can talk to her, and some days I try to avoid her and admire from afar.”

“Well, you’ll have to suck it up for now. You have to sit next to her.” Lara poked at Megan, an amused smirk on her face.

Megan peaked through her hands just to side eye Lara. Megan was not in the mood to keep up with Lara.

The loud passing period bell interrupting Megan’s thoughts. Her and Lara both stood up and grabbed their bags.

As students filed into the hallway, Megan walked behind Lara was holding onto the girls bag.

“Don’t embarrass yourself again, Megan.” Lara looked over her shoulder, stupid smug grin on her face. Megan couldn’t catch a break from Lara’s relentless teasing this morning.

It took them about 7 minutes to walk to their math class, since they got cursed with the homeroom furthest away from their math room.

So by the time the two girls arrived, everyone was already at their desk.

That included Sophia.

Megan’s eyes immediately landed on Sophia.

Megan watched as Sophia focused on getting out her textbook, her notebook, her pencil, eraser, and calculator.

Megan admired how prepared the girl always was, even if having all that was the bear minimum; Megan could barely produce a pencil for herself, so of course she found it impressive.

She was so lost in her thoughts, she had forgotten to walk to her desk, instead she was standing in the doorway, like an idiot.

“Skiendiel, sit down.” The teachers voice bringing Megan back to reality.

Megan kept looking at Sophia, who was now looking back at Megan. Sophia smiled and waved, causing Megan to smile a little.

“Sorry.” She apologized and took her seat next to Sophia.

Megan was hyperaware of Sophia’s presence. Sophia perfume was overwhelming her nostrils, not that she was complaining, she loved the scent.

Megan never did anything in math, except for daydreaming about Sophia, looking at Sophia next to her, or talking with Sophia.

The teacher began speaking, and Megan immediately started to daydream about the girl next to her.

She always cringed at herself when she imagined confessing to Sophia, because she had so much to say, but she would probably stutter again and again, so her points would be weakened.

Megan would probably throw up from nerves if she ever found herself in the scenario of having to confess to Sophia. Megan was good at yapping, just not about her feelings.

She vowed that she wouldn’t try anything with Sophia, unless Sophia did first. But Sophia seemed to have a naturally flirty personality, so Megan didn’t know whether she should take Sophia seriously or not.

“Megan?” Sophia’s voice suddenly rang through Megans ear. Again, Megan was pulled out of her daydream.

Megan hummed and looked over at Sophia, who had her hand out.

Furrowing her eyebrows, she stared at Sophia’s hand, confused on what she wanting.

“What?” Megan finally questioned, still staring at the girls hand.

“I’m bored. Let’s do a thumb war.” Sophia finally explained, causing Megan to feel a little slow.

Megan put her hand in Sophia’s, immediately clocking how soft Sophia’s hands felt.

Sophia didn’t say the line when they started, Sophia just began and caught Megan off guard.

Megan’s competitive nature wasn’t gonna let it slide, of course.

Sophia was staring at the teacher writing on the board, not even paying attention to their thumb war, and Megan was still loosing.

This had to be ragebait?

“How are you beating me.” Megan grumbled, sounding a lot more upset than she should have been, it was only a game.

Sophia let out a quiet giggle, which distracted Megan, causing the girl to give up and just let Sophia have the win.

Megan’s annoyance was quickly washed away as she saw the triumphant smile on Sophia’s face.

“Megan, what’s the answer?”The teacher suddenly pointed at Megan with a marker.

Megan tensed up, she of course hadn’t been listening, and now the teacher wanted to make a fool of her.

“Uh…”

“It’s zero.” Sophia whispered, covering her mouth so the teacher couldn’t see her telling the answer.

“Zero…?” Megan’s voice was hesitant, even if she knew Sophia knew the right answer.

“Correct.” The teacher turned around and wrote the answer down, then continued on with the lecture.

Megan turned to Sophia. “Thank you. I totally would’ve embarrassed myself.”

Instead of responding with her words, Sophia smiled and blew a kiss to Megan before returning her gaze back to the board.

Megan’s face heated up, but she had to act nonchalant, so she sunk into her chair and stared straight ahead.

The rest of the class was a blur, all she could really remember was occasionally laughing until her stomach hurt with Sophia when they were supposed to be working.

At the end of class, while Megan was putting her textbook in her bag, Sophia suddenly spoke.

“Do you wanna hangout after school?”

That was a question Megan had been ACHING to hear coming from Sophia’s voice.

But Megan HAD to act nonchalant, she couldn’t act too excited or she might scare Sophia away.

“YES PLEASE.” Her tone betrayed all the thoughts she had just told herself. “I mean…yeah sure.”

That earned a giggle from Sophia. Megan smiled as the infectious giggle infected her.

“You’re so funny, Megan.” Sophia tilted her head to the side and kept the warm, sincere smile on herself. “I’ll meet you out front after school. I know a place we can go.”

Megan nodded, not trusting herself to say anything more.

Sophia gave Megan a little wave before she turned and left the classroom, leaving Megan alone with a shocked expression on her face.

Lara, who had seen the interaction, raced over to Megan as soon as Sophia was gone.

“What happened?”

Megan put her hand over her heart and clutched her sweater. “She asked to hangout after school.”

Lara smacked Megan’s arm and smiled, just as wide as Megan “You’re so in, bro.”

Megan couldn’t focus on anything else that day, which wasn’t good since she had a french test that could’ve been a grade booster.

This wasn’t the first time she had been distracted during a test because her mind couldn’t stop thinking of Sophia.

Chemistry test, she fell asleep during it and dreamt about Sophia, and when she woke up and the time was up, she had only done one pages front and back.

Of course, she couldn’t explain why she hadn’t finished.

Megan had imagined hanging out with Sophia many times, but now that it was actually happening, she didn’t know how she was supposed to act.

She was unable to sit still in her last class, too nervous for what was about to come, but she also couldn’t stop herself from staring at the clock.

The minute Megan saw the clock hit 2:50, she grabbed her bag and sprinted out before the teacher could make any objection.

Was she being too dramatic about this? It wasn’t even that deep, just a hangout.

But it wasn’t just a hangout to Megan, this could make or break her relationship with Sophia.

Megan waited by a bench just outside the schools main doors. She pulled out her phone to try and distract herself, and not look too eager for Sophia to appear.

Her notifications were dry, so she checked the weather app, then the calculator app, just trying to look busy on her phone.
When she looked up, she spotted Sophia immediately in the crowd of students. Should she wave, or wait for Sophia to notice her?

Wave or wait?

If she waved and Sophia didn’t see her, that would be embarrassing.

If she waited and Sophia didn’t see her, then Sophia might think she is standing her up.

Why did Megan make every decision more difficult than it needed to be?

“Hey, Megan.”

Megan was pulled out of her thoughts as Sophia appeared in front of her.

“Oh hey.”

Sophia smiled. That smile that drove Megan insane, as mentioned multiple times.

“Let’s go, I know we will have a great time.”

Sophia interlinked her arm with Megan’s, causing Megan’s cheeks to heat up, but Sophia was too focused on leading Megan to notice.

Megan offered to walk Sophia home after their hangout.

Sophia had shown Megan this hidden cafe that sold really unique drinks, but all Megan wanted from the variety was hot chocolate, which caused Sophia to tease her.

“They have so much to choose from, and you choose the most basic thing?” Sophia laughed while recording Megan drinking her hot chocolate.

“I know what I like.” Megan defended her choice, happily sipping her drink.

After they left the cafe, they just walked around the area for a bit, talking and laughing without worrying a teacher would tell them to be quiet.

“But what if when we kill flies, they have a family waiting at home and the family is waiting for the fly to come back and it just doesn’t because we killed it.”

Sophia was tearing up because of her rant on flies, and Megan had zero clue on how to comfort the girl.

“If it makes you feel better, i’ll stop killing flies.” Megan reassured, not knowing if that would help Sophia’s situation, or make it work.

It seemed to work since Sophia wiped her tears and smiled.

“I know you just admitted to killing flies, but it’s the thought that counts.”

They went from interlocking arms to holding hands, of course it being Sophia to initiate it, since Megan would rather die than risk embarrassing herself.

They walked to Sophia’s house in silence, running out of things to talk about.

This moment felt perfect for Megan to say everything she had been thinking about Sophia for years…

But Megan would never.

Megan was too scared to tell Sophia her feelings.

Even if Megan’s feelings made her want to explode, she could never tell Sophia.

Megan would never tell Sophia about how she thought about her 24/7.

How Megan would stay up to write about Sophia in her notes app.

How Megan would rant to her friends non-stop about how ethereal Sophia was.

How Megan constantly dreamed about Sophia.

Sophia would never know.

Never

Ever.

“Megan?” Sophia squeezed Megan’s hand, which brought the girl back to the present.

“Yeah?” Megan looked at Sophia and raised her eyebrows.

“This is my house.” Sophia pointed with her eyes to the house in front of them.

Megan blinked. “Oh, right.” She reluctantly let go of Sophia’s hand.

Sophia took two steps forward before facing Megan again. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” She smiled and waved.

Megan watched.

Watched as the opportunity to tell Sophia her feelings walked away.

Watched the girl of her dreams walk into her house.

Watched.

All Megan seemed to do was watch.

“Sophia?” Megan called out suddenly.

Oh no.

Megan couldn’t do this.

No.

Yes she could.

It was just three simple words.

“I like you.”

It’s as simple as that. Megan had just spent two hours saying words to Sophia, this would be no different.

Sophia stopped and turned back around, a confused expression on her face.

“Yeah?” Sophia questioned.

Say it, Megan.

You’ve been wanting to say it, Megan.

Say it, Megan.

“I…” Megan’s words caught in her throat. She stared at Sophia who was wanting patiently.

Megan thought about how she cherished her friendship with Sophia.

How much fun she had.

How much happiness it brought her.

She would hate to lose it over three words.

“I enjoyed today. I hope we can do it again soon.” Megan forced a smile.

Sophia’s expression softened into a smile.

“I enjoyed today as well. We should definitely hang out more.”

And just like that, Sophia was gone.

Megan stood outside for a bit, reflecting over the opportunity missed.

I guess Sophia’s love will just be stuck in her head.
