Chapter Text
There she is, in his arms. His firstborn child. Jeffrey smiles. His wife Leila is still in the hospital bed, her eyes closed. She knows something he doesn’t ,and she isn’t going to tell him. Because Jeffrey has a simple mind. They had met when she had visited England, and they had fallen in love. So she stayed with him. Although she was from the US, she decided to settle down in England, with her partner, Lord Roland. After all, he is a Lord. He wouldn't abandon that title and his hometown. And now, they have a child, an angel, just like she is herself and her mother was before her. It isn’t like she is a powerful, holy being. She can just do some things that are a little magical. Like healing people. And feeling another one's emotions.
She knows Jeffrey isn’t perfect. She knows he is selfish and competitive, but she loves him and hopes he will be able to change. For her,for himself, and for their child.
"What do you want to call her?" Jeffrey asks. She looks at him, then at her daughter. What does she want to call her? She is her little angel, and what better name then…
"Angelina."
"Really?"
"Yes. It's a beautiful name,isn't it?"
"Well… it sounds like angel."
"You got a problem with that?"
"No. Not at all."
"Perfect."
Angelina opens her eyes. Although she isn’t able to smile, her eyes do. She’d chosen her name, and the name had chosen her.
As they get home, someone is already waiting for them.
"Hello, Mrs.Daltrey," Jeffrey greets the woman letting them inside.
"Oh, you're back already. And what do we have here? Aw,aren't you just a cutie pie?" She pinches Angelina’s cheek.
"We named her Angelina",Leila smiles.
"What a lovely name!"
"Yes,Mrs. Daltrey. Yes,indeed. Darling, why don't you lie down? You must be exhausted."
Leila smiles again. Jeffrey is a caring man. But something is off,she just can’t put a finger on it.
"Alright,Darling. See you later."
As she walks out of the room, Jeffrey turns to Mrs. Daltrey.
"Now, you know what to do?"
"Take care of her?"
"Yes, Mrs. Daltrey, take care of her. But you must watch her. I don't want her going a way she isn't supposed to go,and keep her away from things she shouldn't know. That's why I hired you, right?"
"Yes,Lord Roland. But, I do have to say, she's just a baby now. What could she possibly do or see?"
"Well, she's a baby now,but not for long. She'll want to explore. That's when you'll have an eye on her. You understand?"
"Of course, Lord Roland."
