Summary
It makes her laugh when she spots him across the bar.
His hair is cropped short, bleached. Entirely out of place for where they are. There’s an edge to him, something that intrigues her about the way he taps his index finger against his glass, keeping time with the music droning from the speakers.
She watches for a minute, waits to see if he’s meeting someone, looking for someone. The silver band on his ring finger shimmers under the lights.
But no one comes.
