Notes:

I swear I cannot write but here we are. I hope I can write it as detailed as I imagined !!! My first language isn't English, lets be clear about that. Hope everyone enjoys !!

Chapter 1: recruiting

Chapter Text

It has been around two hours since I received the email from the University officials about my expelling. I must say- no, in better words, I have been running around all that while. What the hell am I supposed to do now?? Forget applying to other universities, the enormous  "expelled from ____" mark on my CV with the red lettering is severe enough to make me jobless for the rest of my already miserable life. What did I do to deserve any of this? Do the experiment that my foolish past self thought would get me some sort of award? No, they are going to shoot me in the middle of nowhere for discovering this. I'm FUCKED. Sorry, I swore. But what else can I do in this situation? Swear and stare at my life choices! Yup! The experiment is still sitting on my desk, staring at me. Ugh...

knock knock-

Now they are here to get me out of my apartment too, right?! Everything RIGHT at the same fucking time. Of course. I was going to be petty to whoever that was too- but the politeness in me choked me up so I stayed silent like a shy high schooler and opened the door. I must say I expected my tenant that barked at the top of my face every single time for listening to music, but no, there was two official looking men, standing before me. I thought, yup, this is it, two spy looking men came from the government and poof I have never ever existed before. I almost didn't want to look at them at my last alive seconds, but the intricate edge to their suits were quite eye catching. Almost as if they were made by those... uhm.. "world's blackest black" paints. How unusual. All of these thoughts were created in two seconds, by the way. They spoke before I could even scoff from the uniqueness of their clothing choices.

"Hello Miss Miller, we have been informed of a experimentation that you have successfully initiated on creating a new organism. Would you be interested in a Job offer?"

"I just got expelled from University, why would you wish to hire me?"

"The amount of information you already know is quiet enough to understand the basic work, and the rest will be taught to you freshly at the work site, if you do accept. It is completely different from your University studies, that I can say. Please see the contract for yourself."

The man who hadn't spoken gave me a thick folder. There wasn't any information that any of the usual organizations would offer. Some basic workload routines, "experimentation rights", necessities that would be handled by this... uhm anonymous organization and some other stupid stuff I didn't see the need to read. I have a feeling that this might be the only good job offer I will receive other than working at Mc Donald's so... Best I can do is accept and hope for the best.

"I think I will accept."

the two man hummed in approval which was strangely in sync and they walked to the inside of my apartment. I didn't have any time to react because I completely blacked out by the second step they took inside my apartment. whoosh....

When I woke up, I was laying on a flat mattress, in a room full of other mattresses. Very detailed explanation, I know. I was quiet groggy though, and my vision was blurry so it took me time to adjust to this new environment. Thankfully, after finding my broken glasses -which didn't change what I saw, as I said, its broken- I cold make out some other details of the room. I'm assuming this is some sort of place for workers to stay at? Okay... but I had to address the elephant in the room- I just got kidnapped for god's sake!! I guess I'm doing those secretive work for the government because they decided I was too special to kill... yeah haha don't fool yourself Constance. Whatever... I'm here for some reason, so that's what matters.

I found a folder left by the small night stand next to my -assuming its mine- bed. It was definitely thicker than the one before. hmmm, it went in summary like this.

"Hello Miss Miller, we apologize for the strange way we have transported you to the base, but it was out of necessity, you will understand once you read the folder."

-Welcome to the SCP organization, by the opening of Secure, Contain and Protect. The SCP organization is in control of understanding some certain enigmatic lifeforms that the normal civilian eye shall not see for safety reasons. Anomalies are contained, secured and protected from the outside world whilst you and many other scientist personnel experiment on them to understand their main focus.

As you have accepted the job, now you will start your work as a trainee scientist.-

The rest of the folder had routine hours, salary pays, lunch stuff, etc. I didn't read it all. It did instruct me to follow a certain direction to go to the "Medical Sector" to meet my tour guide. Oh well!!! I should get dressed...

After dressing up with the given white scientist coat, I made my way out of the room. The outside was... a corridor, not as if I hadn't expected that. Gray, lifeless walls with yellow thin stripes, wooden crafts all over the sides along with numerous trash bins. Weird, I suppose its a need for this place. Well, I didn't have to follow a lot of signs to reach my destination. The "Medical Sector" was far more lush than the rest of the place that I have witnessed. Lush, as in more bright, but not colorful. Its best to not expect a place that is supposed to be like a hospital to be near anything colorful. So I stepped inside by the automatic glass doors to where the reception was. There was a women sat by there, busy reading something instead of working. Nothing new, whew!

"Excuse me. I was directed to here to uhm.. meet my tour guide."

The women looked up and put the object she was occupied with down.

"Ah, yes, she is by the left side, at the patient room."

"thank you."

As directed again, I went to the left side by the reception where a small corridor for "small treatments, injuries" rooms were at. The first room was full, with a woman, that I assumed was my tour guide, so I got myself in. Its unusual that almost all the doors either have a card requirement or automatic door sensor. By the movement and sound, the women inside turned to me. She also had a similar coat to me, but it was obviously different. By her left side of the coats upper body, she had  aid card giving information. "Marienne Winslow", "Medical Department", "Medical Director" . I believe she is someone important.

She had a big dark sun hat that had few flowers sitting on top, dressed with a laced ribbon. Long luscious black curls fell from her hair till the middle of her back like bouncy stripes. Dark sharp almond eyes, adorned with few moles that somehow made a difference. She seemed to have a soft yet gothic makeup on. With light eyeshadow that matched with dark eyeliner...Along with a natural pale skin and beautiful cupids bow lips that were painted in dark red. Yikes! I got distracted. I like to examine people in detail before meeting them... some people don't like that though.

"Hello, you must be the newbie scientist."

"Yes, that's me."

"Constance Miller. Beautiful name. Though many won't use it here towards you. Formalities are taken seriously."

"Thank you.. uhm...Miss Winslow."

"Of course, Future-Doctor-To-Be Miller."

"f-fiddlesticks! Yeah... that sounds horrendous."

"Your quiet humorous! I don't think anybody would care if you swore anywhere that didn't have officials like the administrative department or the O5 council. Spine chilling people, I know. The childish swearing can stay though. I'm sure other personnel would find you hilarious."

"If you say so.."

"Well! we can go along with our tour. Though, just one minute, I need my third cup of coffee for the day. Cant make it without it."

I watched her disappear into this, personnel rest area looking like room with glass walls by one half where she impatiently made this small coffee machine start working and fill her white cup. Another sign of humans, coffee addiction. I thought I was talking to a alien for a second... Seeing by how much she has been waiting, I will wait too. Sigh.. might as well daydream.
