Work Text:
It was supposed to be a day like any other – exactly how she preferred it.
Predictability and preparation were key. Too much excitement simply wasn’t her thing. Turbulence generally had her coming up with an annoying rash which, if she was really unlucky, would last for days.
She was simply allergic to any kind of instability.
Unfortunately – and not to mention shockingly – Takeba had ensured this day turned out to be anything but predictable.
The day had started out normally.
Excellent even! Mitsuru had enjoyed a perfectly brewed cup of tea before school. Well, naturally it had been perfect – it had been produced by her capable hands after all.
Also, the traditional before-summer-break speech she gave later that day had gone beyond her wildest expectations.
There was no mistaking the commitment that shone brightly in every student’s eyes as she stressed the importance of attending summer school.
The room had been vibrant with engagement, and it filled her with so much pride she almost couldn’t contain herself. It was in their best interests, and Mitsuru really felt she had managed to hammer that point home.
As if that killer of a speech wasn’t enough, her motion – a proposal to enforce a stricter dress code across the school – had been referred for further review.
They wouldn’t start properly investigating the proposal until after the holidays, but this was nonetheless an important step forward. For Mitsuru – but more importantly, for the school and its students.
Mitsuru shivered at the thought of how short some of the girls at school were wearing their skirts – it was disorderly, and it just had to stop. And naturally, Takeba was amongst that group of scantily clad females. Mitsuru had lost count of the number of times she’d advised her to put on a more modest attire.
~
“No! Senpai, I can’t possibly wear this!” Takeba cried out as Mitsuru handed over a couple of tailor made skirts the other week.
“This is respectable clothing, Takeba. Surely you realize how inappropriate it is for you to run around at a school showing that much thigh.”
Takeba’s brown eyes had widened, and she gaped at her while shaking her head.
“This… this almost reaches all the way to my ankles!” She exclaimed as she was holding the publicly appropriate skirt up to measure it against her body. “You don’t even wear skirts this short!”
“I wear what’s compliant with our existing clothing policy,” Mitsuru said flatly. “However,” a little louder before Takeba could get a chance to object, “this style will soon be incorporated across the school.”
“You,” Mitsuru pointed at her, “will just be a little ahead of your time. I suggest you think of this as trend-setting. That sounds like something that would appeal to you. Besides, would it feel good if you were to set a standard for once?”
She had found the fury burning in Takeba’s eyes as she stormed out of her room rather amusing.
Never mind. She would get Takeba in that skirt one way or another – even if that meant attending to her morning dressing personally.
Besides, this new motion she was working would soon make sure both Takeba and the other promiscuous girls would get their wardrobes changed.
~
Later that night – and after such a successful school day – Mitsuru was more than ready to take on some Shadows in Tartarus.
That would be a golden opportunity to get rid of some of the excess energy she felt pumping around in her system – no doubt a byproduct of all the enthusiasm she’d experienced throughout the day.
The team’s Tartarus visit had also started out on a somewhat normal basis.
Unfortunately – that didn’t last very long.
Two hours into their attempt to climb higher up that never-ending tower, things had gone terribly wrong.
The team had been on a roll, and since wins seemed to come easy that night they all agreed it was better to leave while things were still on top.
Mitsuru had been walking right next to Takeba who – at Fuuka’s sudden command, letting the team know they had to make a sharp left to reach the teleporter – turned so quickly she blasted right into her. And Mitsuru, who had been busy trying to overhear what other instructions Fuuka was giving, lost her balance and started tumbling to the floor.
Desperately trying to alleviate the fall she had somehow grabbed onto whatever was within reach.
Unfortunately, that happened to be a piece of fabric.
Or rather, a thread. From Takeba’s vastly inappropriate battle outfit.
And as one can easily understand, this only made matters worse as it brought both the battle panties and Takeba down with her.
Things could have ended up extremely badly there, on her part.
But to make matters worse – Takeba had somehow managed to wrap her hands around the back of Mitsuru’s head. And well, Mitsuru had to admit she was a little grateful for that, because… admittedly… without that the collision against the stone floor would most certainly have cracked her skull.
So – her head got saved but the cost for that was high.
At the expense of her head getting saved, Mitsuru’s mouth got completely crushed by nothing other than Takeba’s lips.
And yes – it was still hard for Mitsuru not to consider the otherwise head-damage the preferable option.
The impact from when she inevitably slammed onto the floor almost knocked the air out of her lungs. For a long stretch of time, all she could do was lay there trying to figure out whether or not she was still alive.
Mitsuru worried something must have gone terribly wrong, as she felt a heavy pressure over her chest.
Breathing was also difficult, almost as if something was blocking her airways.
That’s when she realized… someone was on top of her!
And a short moment later, Mitsuru could clearly make out the unmistakable presence of someone’s lips against hers.
Unable to stop herself from gasping, said lips suddenly got even closer and it felt as if they were closing around hers.
The panic that started building inside Mitsuru as it dawned on her that that mouth glued to hers belonged to none other than Takeba was out of this world.
Unable to pull back, she tried shaking her head while hoping her protesting noises would make Takeba realize she had to get off her. This instant.
Takeba, despite getting most of the blow cushioned by Mitsuru’s body, seemed a little out of it too. It took another long – too long! – moment before the situation seemed to dawn on her as well.
Once realization finally seemed to hit her, Mitsuru saw her eyes widen in alarm.
Excellent – now move.
However, instead of immediately becoming helpful and try to get them untangled – Takeba’s eyes met hers and seemed to… lock on to her gaze.
It must have only lasted for a handful of seconds, but Mitsuru found it deeply unsettling.
Though, soon after, Takeba’s lips had finally – and thankfully – left hers.
Mitsuru usually didn’t think much of Iori, but as he’d seen Takeba struggle to get up he had instantly offered his support. He was then just as quick to reach out and help Mitsuru to get up as well.
“A-are you…okay?” Takeba had the audacity to ask.
Mitsuru ignored that.
The whole team had been bathing in a long moment of pressing silence while the two had examined their bodies for potential injuries and, when none were found, brushed dust off from their clothes.
For Takeba’s part that mainly meant removing dirt from her body thanks to her battle outfit being so tastelessly revealing.
“Are you okay” Mitsuru’s thoughts echoed bitterly.
What kind of question was that?
Well, of course, she wasn’t even remotely close to being okay.
“We should get going.”
Mitsuru couldn’t wait to leave this place.
On the walk back to the dorm, she felt herself seething with anger.
Fuuka wouldn’t stop asking what on earth had happened, and though Mitsuru had left it for the others to explain, she couldn’t stand hearing another word about it.
“Senpai, please…just wait a second,” Takeba interrupted just as she was about to open the door to her room.
“What is it, Takeba?”
“I-I just wanted to say I’m sorry for running into you. It…it wasn’t-”
“As I’m sure you can understand, since I just hit my head against a stone floor, I have a headache,” she pointed at herself, “and I need a shower.”
The door was now wide open.
Mitsuru took a step in.
“Hey, wait! M-maybe you should see a doc-“
The door closed with a soft click. The last thing she needed right now was to see or hear any more of Takeba.
Ugh!
Yesterday had been ruined, and apparently today intended to follow suit.
While in school, seated by her desk, Mitsuru couldn’t stop herself from repeating Takeba’s profoundly inept actions in her head.
Takeba hadn’t merely collided – she had descended upon her like a catastrophe. And she hadn’t stopped there either. No, as if that hadn’t been enough damage done, she had even forced her mouth onto hers.
The pencil snapped, and Mitsuru jolted upright.
Perfect. Now my schedule for the day will be even further compromised.
It appeared she now wouldn’t even be able to take notes.
Oh, but she was, because she always carried at least two spare pens in her bag. Preparation was, after all, key.
Sometime later that day, when Mitsuru as per usual was stationed in the kitchen for her mandatory evening brew, she stiffened as she heard someone clear their throat next to her.
She didn’t need to look. Of course it was Takeba.
“Good evening, Takeba. How may I be of assistance?”
“Oh, hi, Senpai.”
Mitsuru waited – she had been taught patience from a young age.
“Um…” Takeba continued, “I was just… how’s your day been?”
My day?!
“My day has been unnecessarily complicated.”
“Oh, okay. I… I hope it doesn’t have anything to do with, you know, yesterday…”
“I can see why you would hope for something like that.”
The half-empty plastic bottle Takeba had been nervously tossing between her hands suddenly slipped out of her grip and fell to the floor – she did not pick it back up.
“Why are you so upset, it wasn’t like I meant to-“
“I’m hardly upset Takeba, I just find what you did yesterday very inappropriate.”
“What? I-“
“You practically threw yourself at me.”
“What? I… Come on, Senpai, I didn’t throw myself at you.”
“Oh? Then, what did you do?”
“What kind of question is that?! You saw it! I ran into you by accident and then we…fell.”
“Well, just as I said then.”
“I didn’t throw myself at you!!”
Yes, you did Takeba, and then you…and then you kissed me!
That was right, Mitsuru thought as she and her cup of tea were back in the safety of her room – Takeba had kissed her.
Not only had she launched herself onto her like an aimless missile, and used her body as some kind of cushion to soften the blow – she had also kissed her.
For a long time, nonetheless.
Mitsuru shivered as she replayed the unfortunate events in her head.
The panic she’d felt as Takeba eyes fixated on hers while their mouths were glued together… it had been unreal.
Why on earth did she have to kiss her?
She kissed me… she kissed…
Slamming a hand over her mouth, Mitsuru inhaled sharply.
She even spilled some of her tea in the process.
Takeba kissed me!
Mitsuru blinked.
For some reason… she hadn’t viewed it like this until tonight.
But now… it was crystal clear.
But…
Mitsuru’s eyes narrowed.
…no one’s ever kissed me before… does that mean?
This was starting to become too much.
She had to set her cup back down on the table so she could focus properly.
She was… She was my first…
Her eyes widened in alarm.
Takeba was my first kiss!
Mitsuru could only blink as the shocking reality started to sink in.
Her first kiss had been with Takeba.
With a team member – a person who lived in the same dorm.
Someone who wore their skirts way too short. In public.
…….
To understand that was the type of person she had given her…
No. To find out that was the type of person who had stolen her first kiss…
Mitsuru couldn’t even begin to think about ways to best describe such a crime.
She buried her head in her hands, resisting the urge to groan out loud.
A first kiss was meant to be special!
Not that she had given the subject any serious thought, but…everyone knew that.
It was almost like a law.
And Mitsuru being Mitsuru, which came with an inherent preference for sticking to protocol, wanted her first kiss to be memorable. Perhaps even something she could look back on with fondness.
Or rather, that’s what she had wanted.
Memorable would still probably be a good term for it, but she most certainly wouldn’t remember this in a fond way.
First kisses had rules. Takeba had broken all of them.
The phrase “Don’t get mad, get even” flashed through her mind.
No, that was too mild for such a serious offence. Mitsuru wanted revenge!
Takeba had stolen something from her, and she would steal something back – something even more precious.
“Senpai, can we please talk?” Takeba, accompanied by her ideal sense of timing, were yet again back to interrupt her most precision-demanding tea brewing process.
“Good evening, Takeba,” Mitsuru said flatly, keeping her eyes on the tea.
“What is it you so wish to talk about? Or perhaps you’ve come here to steal yet another thing from me?” This time she actually turned to look at her, and she could see Takeba’s expression slowly go from uncertainty to confusion.
“Steal? Wha… What are you talking about?”
“Well, I’m simply asking if that’s what you came here to do.”
“But why would you ask…that? I’ve not stolen anything!” The confusion in Takeba’s expression sharpened.
“I take it you’re unaware that you’ve stolen something from me?”
“Yes! Because – I haven’t!”
“Hm. Seems that is a matter of opinion then.”
Takeba ran a hand through her hair, and let it rest on the top of the head she was now shaking.
“What have I stolen?” She eventually said with a sigh.
“A kiss.”
“A kiss?”
“Yes, Takeba, a kiss. Do I need to explain to you what that is?”
Takeba kept shaking her head, which was now hidden behind her palms. “Senpai, what… I didn’t kiss you. I…landed badly and…our lips may have touched a little, but-“
“So you admit then?”
Takeba inhaled sharply and opened her mouth to speak, but Mitsuru cut her off.
“Don’t worry. I will simply steal something back, and once I’ve done that, this little mishap of yours will be forgotten about and we can go back to living our lives like normal.”
Mitsuru and her perfectly engineered cup of tea were quick to leave before Takeba could respond.
Some moments later, Mitsuru was done pondering her next steps.
Thankfully, she possessed a copy of the main key, which worked on all doors in the dorm, including the bedrooms.
Deciding it was better to just get this retribution sorted as soon as possible, she marched over to Takeba’s room.
“Senpai!”
The bathrobe clad Takeba jumped high as she exited the bathroom and found Mitsuru sitting calmly on her bed.
“Good evening, Takeba.”
“How…”
“I have the main key. Naturally someone needs to have it in case of…emergencies.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Oh, I’m simply here to bring justice.”
“Right.” Takeba was tapping two fingers at her pouting mouth as if she was considering something.
“Yeah, I remember. You will steal something back. Fine. Just…go ahead and take what you want, I guess.” She indicated with her hand that Mitsuru could pick whatever she wanted from the room, and then leave.
“Good. I’m glad to see you are cooperating. Come here.”
“Wha…come where?”
Mitsuru patted the empty space beside her.
Takeba’s eyes flickered between Mitsuru and the indicated seat for some moments, before taking the few steps needed, getting herself settled onto the bed.
She looked a little uncomfortable, and Mitsuru assumed that was because she was only in her bathrobe. Thankfully it was a little longer than her usual skirts, but only slightly so.
Takeba gasped as Mitsuru placed a hand on the inside of her thigh. Mitsuru could feel her tense at the touch.
“What are you doing?” It came out as a whisper.
“You stole my first kiss, Takeba.”
“I…”
“And I believe someone else has already taken yours, which leaves me with no other option… than to steal something else.”
A pair of surprised eyes met hers. “Are you… you’re not going to…”
“I’m not going to what exactly?”
Takeba’s gaze wandered down to the hand still resting just above the inside of her knee.
Her mouth opened, but no words came.
“May I remind you I do not read minds?” Takeba could be so indirect sometimes; it was frustrating.
Mitsuru watched her swallow a couple of times.
“Are you going to take my…” She bit down on her lip.
It was hard to understand what could be so difficult to say that Takeba just couldn’t spit it out.
“Takeba, I still do not follow. Please – try to be more specific.”
She averted her eyes and rubbed the back of her neck, still chewing her lower lip.
Mitsuru had enough of the probing and decided to simply wait her out.
After a long stretch of time, Takeba whispered, “My virginity. A-are you going to take…my virginity?”
For a long moment, Mitsuru could only blink at her.
After another stretch of time, she realized she was grabbing her thigh a bit too firmly; she loosened her grip slightly, but let the hand remain.
Take your…virginity?
It never stopped to amaze her how completely outrageous Takeba could be at times.
Mitsuru could only shake her head at the levels of unrealism some people showed.
“You think… You can’t possibly mean you think I am here to steal your virginity?” Mitsuru murmured as the initial wave of shock had settled.
What did Takeba think, that she was some kind of sexual offender? Mind you she was the one who had assaulted her.
“I… But then… You’re not?”
“Of course I’m not! What could possibly make you think something like that – let alone say it?”
Takeba gasped and her focus once again shifted to the hand.
“You think me touching your knee means I would deflower you?”
“W-well…”
“I hope you realize that this” she cocked her head to indicate the hand, “is nothing compared to the full body contact you put me through. In front of people, no less.”
“Then… what are you going to do?” Takeba looked bewildered now.
“Well, naturally I am going to give you a French kiss.”
“With…”
“Yes, Takeba! No need for you to point out the obvious.”
Mitsuru was conceptually familiar with the parts involved in a Frech kiss.
…As in what she’d come across in books.
Occasionally, she’d seen it in movies too.
Now, however, as she was holding Takeba firmly by the cheeks – about to deliver one herself – it wasn’t completely apparent how or where to start.
What if there was a difference between theory and practice?
She could sense Takeba watching her closely, but Mitsuru took her time.
Finally, deciding that a reasonable first step would be to bring their lips together, she leaned forward until they connected.
But…what about the tongue? It wasn’t possible to get that in there if Takeba kept her mouth closed.
“It would make it easier if you could open up a little.”
As Takeba nodded, she made another attempt.
The next step would be to stick her tongue in. What method would be best suited for that? Should she use force? Or go for a slow and measured approach?
As Mitsuru opted for the latter, she scolded herself for not having prepared properly.
It was a strange feeling having her tongue inside of another person’s mouth.
It felt hot and somewhat wet. Mitsuru jolted back as she suddenly felt Takeba’s tongue meet hers. What was she doing?
Mitsuru realized she must have been staring, because she could see Takeba nod repeatedly.
What did the nods mean?
Also, was this enough – had justice been served now?
Takeba was now leaning forward, pulling at the back of Mitsuru arm as to draw her nearer. Perhaps she hadn’t chastised her enough yet – she had to give Takeba some credit for recognizing that on her own accord.
Leaning in for some more stealing, she let one of her hands travel from Takeba’s cheeks to the back of her neck. It allowed Mitsuru to pull her closer, an action that made Takeba produce a small groan right into her mouth.
Every time their tongues met, and every noise Takeba made, got the unknown sensation within Mitsuru to grow.
By the way, didn’t Takeba seem to enjoy this punishment a little too much?
She pulled away.
“I believe justice has been served now.”
Blinking a couple of times as if trying to make sense of what Mitsuru had just said, Takeba then narrowed her eyes at her.
“Are you sure about that?”
“Y-yes, I believe I’ve managed to get what I came here for.”
Takeba’s eyes were shiny, she noticed, and her face was a little flushed.
Suddenly, she looked a little sad. “I… I need to tell you something, Senpai.”
“What now?”
“You won’t like it. Can you promise not to get upset if I tell you?”
“Of course I can’t promise something like that! What is it you need to say?” Mitsuru was already starting to get annoyed – Takeba’s hesitation drove her crazy.
She looked down at her hands. “This wasn’t my first French kiss,” she whispered in such a low voice Mitsuru needed some seconds to fully make sure she had heard it right.
“You… you’ve already-“
“It was many years ago,” Takeba interrupted.
“Clearly, you must have been very young since you forgot to mention anything about it until now.”
Takeba had fooled her.
All this time Mitsuru thought she was stealing something precious from her, and now it turned out someone else had beaten her to it.
What options did that leave for her?
She’s stolen from me. Again!
Mitsuru worried she would soon start breathing fire when realization hit her.
Takeba really had tricked her. She had known about this at-a-questionably-young-age make out session, and yet hadn’t lifted as much as a finger to stop Mitsuru from pushing her tongue into her mouth.
Rather than Mitsuru herself taking something, it was Takeba who ended up stealing her first French kiss.
Takeba had robbed her of yet another supposed-to-be-special moment.
“You know, it probably doesn’t even count now that I think about it…it was more like a friendly kiss.”
“A friendly kiss includes no tongue, Takeba.”
The thought of Takeba thoroughly kissing someone was…repulsive.
An image of Takeba in one of those short skirts she so loved wearing flashed through her mind.
She shook her head.
This trend was alarming: tongue-kisses at a young age, short skirts in public… what was next? Carrying such a loose lifestyle already – it could only go one way.
“I… I can even begin to understand what type of punishment would be required to justify this.”
Mitsuru felt something soar within her. She couldn’t name the feeling, but it wasn’t a good one.
“I believe I need to…consider this and…”
Something was clawing at her insides – she needed to leave.
“I should go.”
Before she had the chance to get up from the bed, hands grabbed her face and she felt something soft and warm land on her mouth.
“Don’t go,” Takeba whispered against her lips.
An instant later, she was being pulled by the wrist, just to have her hand firmly guided to eventually land high up on Takeba’s thigh.
She looked down, it was about an inch from where the short bathing robe ended.
She focused upward again.
Takeba was nodding, and Mitsuru understood that she meant for her to proceed.
I’m not prepared for this!
This had not been part of her plan. Mitsuru had no idea how this would work, or if it would even work at all.
Slowly, she moved her hand further up until it was completely hidden under the soft fabric.
She was close now – if she so much as moved her hand another inch, she would reach Takeba’s… privates.
Surely this couldn’t be the right thing to do.
Did she want to? Did Takeba want her to?
Perhaps… she could go a little further – she could always pull back if it didn’t seem right.
Mitsuru looked up.
She needed to make sure this was what was asked for.
The last thing she wanted was to make a Takeba and start to uncontrollably break rules.
The series of nods told her no rules would be compromised by proceeding.
Mitsuru bit her lip, was this really a good idea?
A hot, slick tightness close around the two fingers she carefully slid into Takeba, who let out a sound so surprisingly appealing it made Mitsuru gasp.
Takeba’s legs spread wider, supposedly to allow for better access, and small whimpers kept escaping her mouth as Mitsuru moved her fingers in and out.
She couldn’t explain the feeling that had started to build inside her as anything other than pure accomplishment. The kind of completionism Mitsuru was sure only came from bringing true justice to the table.
Takeba dragged her further up the bed so they could both lie down.
Again, firm fingers closed around Mitsuru’s wrist and guided her right back between her thighs. Mitsuru let her fingertips explore the wet area and listened closely for Takeba’s reactions to the touches.
She looked up, wanting to see if she could make anything out from her expression, and the sight that met her eyes sent pulses of electricity through her whole body. Something Mitsuru could best describe as pain was plastered across Takeba’s face, but the half closed eyes and the way her chest was heaving up and down told her she wasn’t exactly hurting.
As Mitsuru’s finger grazed over a seemingly sensitive spot, a low groan escaped Takeba’s throat. Letting her fingertip make light circles over it she watched, captivated, as Takeba squirmed under her touches.
The series of moans she let out came more frequently now and Mitsuru worried those noises would set her on fire. This hadn’t at all been her plan, but right this instance all she cared about was to fulfill this mission, whatever that meant.
Pressing her full palm between Takeba’s legs, she started rubbing her hand faster against the slick wetness.
“You are so very beautiful,” she whispered into her ear. She didn’t recognize her own voice; it sounded different somehow.
Takeba was now grinding hard into her. “Mitsuru,” she breathed.
She hesitated, lips still brushing against her ear.
“Yukari,” she whispered back.
The level of success Mitsuru felt as Yukari slammed both hands over her mouth before crying out reached heights she never before could have imagined.
And when Yukari’s heavy breathing had gone down to normal and she climbed on top of Mitsuru, pressing her naked thigh between her legs, Mitsuru couldn’t believe the explosion inside her to be real. Mouth captured by Yukari’s, she heard herself moan and shout right into it.
As Mitsuru left that night, she most certainly felt that justice had been served and somehow, she hoped Takeba would soon disappoint her again.
