Chapter Text
He hasn't seen Lewis the rest of the winter break, not since he saw him enter his house. Lewis looked so small while he was walking in, it was so hard waching him go somewhere he clearly didn't fell safe.
He asked his mom if they couldn help Lewis more but they couldn't, not when he was a minor and his mother wanted him home.
Hugo hasn't answered any of his masseges, and he send dozens. In begining Fern was sending mems and joking but the longer silent stretched messeges started to get more franting.
Saying that Fern was worried would have been understatment of the year.
He would have come to Lewis house the first day that he ignored his masseges but before Lewis left he asked him not to do it, and he didn't want to break his promise, no matter how worried he was. However after two weeks he had enough, but before he could go, his mother offered to go with him.
When they knocked, Jillian opened the door after almost 5 minutes. When they asked about Lewis she said he was fine and then closed the door in there faces.
He thought that after learning that their mothers were best friends Lewis would be more willing to talk about what was going on, that after learning that his uncle was always a dick he could finaly tell him what was slowly killing him. But it didn't. It did exacly opposite thing.
After that breakfast that his mother told them everythink Lewis got more distant, and when they drove to his home he was basically an empty shell.
Nothing with that sat right with him, thats why he felt so happy when he saw Hugo at school.
That was until he turned around.
