“Sevs, he’ll do fine, you worry too much,” Noli hummed whilst crouching down to their son, fixing his collar and straightening out his sleeves a bit. He sighed when standing back up and groaned quietly at the pop of their back.
They caught their husband by the arm and held him back from continuing his pacing, pulling him in for a quick peck, stabilising him by the shoulders afterwards.
“He’ll be alright, he’s ours—he isn’t fragile.”
C00lkidd tugged at their sleeve, tilting his head as he did so—It appeared he wasn’t in a mood for talking.
“No need to worry, ‘kidd, papa just wants you to have fun.” He ruffled his hair lovingly before moving over to their table with one last knowing glance to their husband as they collected the bowls used for breakfast only a couple of minutes ago.
Seven inhaled deeply, exhaling only after turning to their child and offering him a wary smile.
He gently grabbed C00lkidds hand and brought him over to where his Fortnite themed backpack sat.
“Alrighty, do you want to check your stuff yourself?” He hugged his burger plushie closer to his chest and shook his head, his dad responded with a nod and made sure his crayons and meal pack were secured properly.
“Nols, are you sure they understand C00lkidds…thing?”
“Yes, dear, we’ve checked in with them three times by now,” They responded in an affectionate yet exasperated tone.
Their kid hummed softly—the sound roughly resembling a growl, though it wasn’t aggressive in any way—before plopping himself down on the carpeted floor, one hand holding the stuffie and the other messing with his spiky tail.
7n7 still wonders who thought it was a good idea to leave a half-dracobloxxer at his doorstep, then again, he can’t complain—it might be one of the best things that’s ever happened to him.
“Nothing bad, kiddo, some people just…ah..don’t understand why you don’t talk that much. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, though, and if anyone gives you trouble; you’ll tell us, yea?”
Noli snickered into his hand at the underlying threat before clearing their throat whilst
their toddler nodded.
“As your dad said, you get to hit whoever is mean to you with your tail.” They grinned.
“I did not say-”
“Oh please, you implied it.”
007n7 scoffed but couldn’t help the way his playful glare softened into a smile when seeing the two standing together—the spouse of his dreams and his kid; the scene was so domestic he was reminded of the few times he’d ached for a quieter life whilst he was still a hacker. Guess he ended up getting what he wanted.
“Getting sentimental, Sev?” His partner's voice brought him back and he was quick to shake off the sudden wave of nostalgia—he could relish in the past later, right now he needed to finish things up and get C00lkidd to his first day in his new school.
“Yea, sorry, I’m back.” He chuckled, waving off any concern with a loose hand, grabbing the bag and swinging it over his shoulder before pausing and turning to their child.
“You don’t mind me carrying your bag, yea? Or would you rather do it yourself?”
It took him a moment but eventually the half-drakobloxxer did a grabbing motion towards the bag, keeping one hand clutching his plushie at all times.
The man nodded and lowered it down to his hand, carefully handing it over and helping him get it over both of his shoulders.
Just as the alarm Seven had set to ensure they’d leave in time went off Noli leaned in for a quick kiss before shooting their kid a soft smile.
“You got this, yea? It’ll be like any other day—just with a couple more potential friends.” He grinned, causing C00lkidd to mimic the gesture—A habit, the two figured he found comfort in it—whilst he nodded frantically.
“We’d better be off, then. Be back soon, Null.” He hummed, turning towards his lover shortly for the last time. After taking ahold of their toddler’s hand he led him out door as the other moved to finally turn the damned alarm off.
“Be safe, you two!” They shouted after them before finally closing the door.
