-ThriceYears after escaping Hawkins, El is still trying to figure out how normal life works. Billy is living a perfectly miserable one, until she shows up at his doorstep and suddenly he’s forced to share his apartment with her. What could possibly go wrong? Between sarcastic banter, unresolved trauma, crisis aplenty, and an alarming number of broken household items, the two stumble into feelings neither of them planned on having. Unfortunately for Billy, El is very patient. And unfortunately for El, Billy is very stubborn.

Post-canon slow burn set between 1990-1991 that sticks mostly to canon history with only a few minor changes. El lives. Billy also lived which slightly changed some of the outward ripple effects.
Everybody keeps recoiling at this ship so I’ve challenged myself to redeem him and make this relationship develop in a way that works naturally without being weird. You'll see. Tons of cute moments. Tons of funny moments. Give it a shot.
