It has pockets!

Summary:

Frank is a good dad who is practicing what he preaches to Tanner with some interesting results for the rest of the Pitt.

Notes:

I fully blame Patrick Ball for wearing a skirt for this. Also, thank you too LtIceAS for the suggestion.

Robby blew out a breath of irritation, wanting to claw away the black tie that, despite Jack's protest, he was convinced was going to strangle him. The night air was warm and muggy, and polite conversation floated through the museum, heavy and suffocating despite the soaring ceilings.

"If I say kill me now-"

"Too soon," Jack muttered, where he looked just as miserable at being confined to a suit despite knowing the moment the pair left the wedding, Robby would be stripping his husband of said suit as soon as they closed the door. Robby chuckled, and Jack winced at one of the guests high pitched laugh one table over. "Although we could take each other out..."

"No one is taking anyone out." Dana shot down the idea with a dry voice, dressed to the nines in a lavender dress, looking worlds away from the Pitt. "Where's your boy?"

"Dennis?" Robby asked, automatically looking around for his resident absently. "Last time I saw him was with Cassie and Mel, why?"

Jack snorted at the expression on Dana's face, the Charge Nurse not outright calling Robby an idiot, but her face screamed it. "No, Frank."

"Frank is not my boy."

"No, he's your collective boy."

"Not our boy."

"A little out boy," Jack admitted unrepentant, ignoring Robby's huff of disbelieving surprise, a laugh from Cassie, and Dana's clear look of victory. She gave Robby, who rolled his eyes. "Not here yet, why?"

"Huh." Dana hummed. "Got a text he was pulling up, I wonder-there he is. Frank!"

Jack and Robby turned, looking behind them to see Frank walking towards their table with an easy smile.

"Oh fuck." Robby breathed out. Next to him, Jack froze, only able to watch Frank nod to them before taking a detour to give a quick hello to Collins and her new husband with warm congratulations.

"Is that a...?"

"Uh huh." Jack's mouth was dry.

Robby couldn't tear his eyes away from Frank, taking in the carefully styled hair, the perfectly tailored blazer, the crisp white shirt, unbuttoned at the collar. Robby's eyes moved lower to Frank's legs, exposed to the world by the black pleated skirt Frank was wearing. The fabric of the skirt stops at the knees, his muscular calves encased in black socks, do nothing to hide their shape. "Fuuuuuuuck."

Cassie let out a low whistle. "Well, this will be interesting. Good thing he's not your boy," she snarked, earning twin glares from Jack and Robby. "Here he comes, play nice."

Frank sauntered up to the table where most of the Pitt crew had been seated, still smiling. "Hey, sorry I'm late."

"Frank, what are you wearing?" Dana demanded, raising an eyebrow, not even giving the man a chance to sit down, earning a little frown from the man.

"What? I thought I looked good. "Mel and Dennis said I looked hot..."

"Dennis said what?" Jack asked, his voice tight and controlled.

"You do." Cassie nodded, meaning it. "Just why a skirt?"

"Why not a warning?" Robby muttered quietly.

Frank went to sit in the empty chair next to Dana, moving past Jack and Robby, whose hand shot out before Robby had time to think, clasping around Frank's warm wrist, stopping Frank mid step and pulling him back while silently pointing to the empty chair next to him. Frank sat down automatically.

"The name card says, Mohan." Frank pointed out dryly. With a huff, Jack leaned past his husband, grabbing the name card in front of Frank with a glare at the handsome man and tossed it to Cassie, who tossed him Frank's card, the whole silent exchange quick and efficient.

"There, now it doesn't". Jack grunted and sat down again.

"Uuuhhh..thanks? I would have been fine between Dana and...?"

"Dennis." Dana offered with a mischievous gleam. "He looks quite handsome tonight in that suit..."

"I'm sure he does," Jack muttered, cutting Dana off. "Robby."

"One step ahead, Jack." Robby rumbled, switching his own name card with Frank's. The small white embossed card bearing Frank's name was now in between Jack and Robby's. Robby looked over at him, ignoring how blue Frank's eyes looked. "You're in my spot."

Frank opened his mouth to protest. "Move, Langdon," Jack commanded. Cassie and Dana shared a look while Frank did what he was told. He was just about down again when Samira, Dennis, and Mel joined the table. "Wow," Samira observed, moving her eyes over Frank, stopping at the skirt before continuing with open appreciation.

"You have great legs." Was all she said, blinking when Robby did't move from her seat.

"Right here." Dana gestured to the spot between Dennis and Dana. Earning a knowing scoff from Samira. "Of course."

Jack and Robby watched as Dennis' gaze lingered on Frank. "You actually did it." He observed. Robby's expression hardened at the blush forming on Dennis' cheeks and Jack watched unimpressed.

"Yeah, of course. I wasn't going to tell Tanner that boys can wear dresses and paint their nails, and girls can wear suits and blazers if they want, and not go through with it. He was very excited to pick it out."

Everyone at the table would deny that they softened at the information given to them about Frank's life.

"Well you look very handsome." Mel nodded like it was a fact.

"Uh huh." Dennis nodded.

"Wait, I have to tell you the best part." Frank smiled brightly.

"Are you going to do the thing?" Cassie inquired with glee.

"He's going to do the thing." Samira nodded.

Robby and Jack shared looks of confusion before Frank gave a twirl, the skirt flaring out, exposing his knees and the pale, hairy skin of his calves just for a moment before he came to a stop. "And it has pockets."

"Fuck our lives." Jack kicked out the chair next to him with a glare.

"Frank," Robby's voice was deep and bordering on rough. "Sit your ass down."

Frank did.
