how do i tell this guy at school that I like him??

theres this really annoying guy in my gym class. he’s also probably deranged or insane or something similar to two and i didnt even know who this dude was or that i had a class with him until we got detention together. the story is i got caught trying to sneak out, got sent to detention and he was also there for fighting with his sister who was also in detention but she got a different time because they just kept arguing?? that info might give you an idea as to what kind of person this dude is

he sat next to me even though we were the only two people and there was a ton of seats he could choose from. he immediately started talking about club penguin, gave me his username when i didnt ask for it and kept blabbering about how should i add him and have a party with him. tbh, i dont remember why i even did it but i added him at midnight and he accepted it 10 seconds after i sent it. after that we ended up playing for 5 hours

i overslept because of those 5 hours, walked in 40 minutes late to chemistry and the teacher gave me more detention hours. (same teacher who caught me trying to sneak out. im sure he hates my guts.) fast forward to detention and the guy is also there. this time he talked about five nights at freddys, mind you i already had my headphones on before he started talking to me and he CONTINUED talking to pure air (me) for an hour before the teacher walked out and he whips out a broken ipad. how did he sneak it in? i dont know but he started to taunt me with stuff like “if you give me attention i’ll let you play on my ipad” like im some kid but i was so bored that i ended up playing fnaf with him until we were sent home

we spent a week in detention together and after that he started following me around school and it irritated me because random people started walking up to me acting like my friend to talk to him. he’s annoying but he’s also the star of the volleyball team and popular, which made him a person magnet and i hate being around a lot of people. i was irritated at first, then i got pissed after a while because this of douche from the football team who slammed my locked and yelled “lol what are you doing with this emo shit???” i got so mad that i stormed off, he ran after me and i found out later that day that he punched the douche before following me again. that made me feel a bit better though

stuff went by normally with the exception of a guy following me but we ended up becoming friends, we even hung out during the weekends. i mean no hate by this but our boy’s volleyball team is awful. he’s the only good player on the team. one day he was pestering me to watch a match, i hate being around people so obviously i didnt want to come so i said that if they got into the state championships i would watch. I didnt expect him to ACTUALLY get the team to championships because of bad they were. on the day of the first game of sc he had to drag me while calling me a liar, a traitor, fake, and mean for not keeping my world. in the first place whatever i said shouldnt have been taken seriously because nobody in our highschool can even say that the boy’s volleyball team is good with a straight face. dont blame me

they won the game and he gave me flowers right after, with everyone’s still in the gym. i got embarrassed and ran out, with the flowers still in my hand

i didnt talk to him for 3 days until he went to my house at 6pm sobbing in the rain. my mom was the one who opened the door too. that day i had to eat dinner with him while he was wearing my clothes that almost ripped because they didnt fit him. he also had to stay the night because his stupid gated community had a curfew at 8pm for minors. we talked it out at 3am in the morning, ended up oversleeping and got detention together again

everything went back to normal AGAIN he was still clingy and insane but 2 years went by without anything that crazy happening. we’re seniors now and he became captain and is dragging me to every single game. one of his games fell on valentines day so I got ANOTHER bouquet, this time with chocolates and a “will you be my PALentine?” which is stupid. PALentines isn’t as cool as a GALentines. i didnt run away this time, i sucked it up as he wrapped his sweaty arms around me while a hundred people took pictures. the next day we were on the school blog which annoyed me but at the same time i was happy, i didnt know i liked him THEN okay so i was really confused with my feelings. we spent valentines or as he insisted “PALentines” at his house where i had to stay over because again, curfew and when i woke up we were cuddling. i felt weird, like i didnt want to get up but at the same time i knew if i stayed he would probably say some insane stuff. i got up to make breakfast and went downstairs to his dad who told me that for the past 2 years he would only talk about me. mightve been the reason why the eggs were burnt that day, he ate it anyway without hesitation and said that i could be on hells kitchen

i thought about that sleepover for a whole month before i realized that i like him, and spent another month trying to deny and it convince myself its because i dont have any friends that im mistaking friendship for romantic feelings. i only accepted it when a rumor that he was dating an older girl that i realized that i DID like him

i want to tell him i like him but im embarrassed. i think he likes me too but i might be delusional and coping. im thinking about the possibility that he only thinks of me as a friend and my only friend ends up hating me but theres also a slim chance that he likes me too

Hello everyone. I logged after posting this and completely forgot about it. I never expected people to see it, and I definitely didn’t expect for it to go viral a decade later.

Since everyone is asking for an update, here I am. I had to recover this email and reset my redirect password to make this update. So everyone better me greatful. (Also, thank you M. I probably wouldn’t have found out about this if it weren’t for you.)

My confession ended up being a drunken slip up. After they won the state championship, he dragged me to his place to celebrate with his dad. We were seniors, about to go to college and it was his very last year of high school volleyball. So, the whole thing was kind of emotional for him. His dad offered us a bottle (Underage drinking, I know. It was like 10 years ago we can’t do anything about it now.) and we spent the whole evening drinking. When I woke up the first thing I heard was “Babe! I made you hangover soup!!!” Which was weird. Nicknames were normal for him but it was the first he ever called me ‘Babe’.

I asked him about it, and he said that probably didn’t remember but apparently I confessed my feelings the night before and we ended up kissing. After that I asked him to be my boyfriend mid kiss and he said yes. When I woke up, we were already dating.

Thank you Sir for the alcohol. Thank you self for being a stupid drunk.
