Chapter Text
It was a sunny and calm Wednesday afternoon. Objects were scattered around, doing whatever they pleased, but nothing was really happening. The facts were, nothing really significant had happened since the end of BFDIA. Sure, Pin got her limbs back, and yeah, TB and GB would make new inventions every now and then, but other than that, things had been a bit bland.
Flower fiddled with her petals, bored out of her mind. She would interact with the others, but they were all…irrational, and irritating. None of them seemed to like her, and honestly? She couldn’t tell why. She was pretty, she was merciful, heck! She had even hosted BFDIA for a bit, and even that ended with her falling from grace.
Sometimes she just wished that she was somebody else, Thought that maybe, if she was less perfect, if she was lowered to the same level as the other objects, they might like her a bit more.
Yes. That was it.
They longed so badly to be her.
To lead the life that she did,
They really did love her.
They did.
They just felt too inferior.
Too little in her presence.
And so they pathetically tried to claw her down to their level.
To satiate the burning envy in their hearts.
They loved her.
They needed her.
They needed her.
They NEEDED her!
Flower was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard voices nearby, she listened in, trying to make out what they were saying, and by some strange chance, she just so happened to start listening when ruby spoke.
“I think Flower is beautiful!” The jewel said, as she swung her arms.
Flower whipped around to look at her. Of course she was beautiful, she knew that, but she had yet to hear it be acknowledged by another object. She froze, staring intently, she could feel a sort of warmth overtake her, not from the sun, but from a different source…an emotion she had never felt before. She gazed at the jewel for a minute longer taking in her every feature, and analyzing her actions. She was a pretty thing herself, if only she didn’t hang around those FreeSmart doofuses…
Flower made a move to stand, but was immediately met with an awful surge of pain. As though her insides were simultaneously being burned and shredded apart. She cried out in pain, and before she even knew what had happened, everything went dark.

Four trudged along the floor, staring blankly at the grass.
Did he really want to do this? Was he sure that he could take on this responsibility?
Suddenly X piped up, as if they had read his mind.
“Four, are you sure about this? I…I know you really like the show, but do you think that maybe you should wait until you’re older?”
Four kicked a pebble along the path. X did have a point, he was a bit young to be hosting a show, but the contestants wouldn’t have to know about that, he’d lied about his age before, he could do it again.
“I’ll be fine X. Besides, I have you with me, you’re all the supervision I need!”
X bristled at the comment for a moment before forcing himself to calm down.
“Aha! Yeah…”
He and Four both knew that it was a light hearted joke between best friends, a reference to X being the more mature of the two, but X knew things that four didn’t. Things that had to be locked up tight and concealed from the integer. And it hurt them on the inside.
But it had to be done.
Four came to a halt, holding his hand in front of X to catch his attention. In front of them, was a black hole approaching Earth at rapid speeds, pulling in everything within in its vicinity.
Trees were uprooted,
All around them there were screams of horror and agony,
Everything was dissapearing one by one,
And there was nothing they could do about it.
…
Nothing he could do about it…

Flower cried and screamed, clinging to a bush with all of her strength. all she had wanted was for Black Hole to open the special jar that she had found. Once that was done, he was supposed to have stopped, and moved back into his original position.
But it had all gotten out of hand.
Now everyone was holding on for dear life, begging for mercy, and hollering along with her. They were all going to die because of her. It would be her fault.
And that was something that she simply couldn’t live with.
So then,
Maybe it was a good thing that she was going to die so soon. She spared one last glance towards Ruby, replaying all their interactions together since they had met.
And as she let go of the shrub, she couldn’t help but think,
She should have been nicer.
She was yanked into the air, and she felt…at piece…
Was it over?
She wasn’t dead.
Why wasn’t she dead?
She opened her eyes to a bewildering sight. A sight tha was simultaneously terrifying and wonderful.
She was suspended in the air, gaping at the small bluish creature off in the distance.
She couldn’t make out much from her current position, but from what she could see, it appeared to take the form of a…number? It glowed, and so did its eyes, although they were practically closed. It wore a flowy cape, and maybe boots.
The creature pulled in Black Hole with its telekinetic powers, and began to float around him in a circular motion, shrinking him down to a size that was much less harmful.
Once that was done everything and everyone began sinking back to the ground, including the creature itself. Once everything was back in its respective place, the objects gathered around to stare at the now unconscious creature that had just saved them. There was another one of similar size to its left. This one seemed to be a yellow letter. It stared at the ground nervously as they all murmured.
Eventually the yellow one spoke up,
“Umm…hello everyone. I’m X, and this,” He motioned towards his unconscious friend, “is Four.”
