Work Text:

The greenhouse of Alfea was one of the best places Bloom knew. It was a place where so many memories had been made. Good memories, bad memories (though she did try not to think of them too often) and, most importantly of all, a place where she and Flora spent so many quiet hours together. Just the two of them, lost, even for mere moments, in their own perfect world.
The air all around Bloom smelled of honeysuckle and rain that had fallen not to long ago. Bloom loved nights like this; nights where their hard-won peace seemed to last forever. Nights where she and Flora could just relax. Just be together.

The quiet tap-tap of Floras cane made Bloom look up from where she knelt on the floor, slowly stroking over the leaves of a plant. She brushed the dirt from her hands and smiled; seeing her girlfriend always seemed to have that effect of instant happiness on her.

"Hey", she greeted Flora, rising to peck her quickly on the lips. "How was your day?" From behind a large pot, she dragged a chair towards Flora. With a grateful nod, Flora sat and squeezed Bloom's hand.
"Eventful, to say the least. I can't really sleep right now, my head's kind of thinking a million thoughts at once." With a small sigh, Flora broke off, gazing somewhere into the distance.
Bloom studied her for a few seconds, letting her eyes roam over every (beautiful) detail in Flora’s face. The look in her eyes made worry come alive in her chest, no matter that Flora had tried to reassure her. "Oh, I can imagine. There's always something happening... Are you okay though?" Flora looked... not sad, exactly, Bloom thought. More... thoughtful. She carefully brushed a fingertip over the back of Flora's hand.

For a while, her girlfriend stayed quiet, seemingly just breathing in the cool air. Then she let her head fall slightly to the side so it came to rest on Bloom's shoulder.
"Yeah, don't worry, love. I'm okay. I’m always okay when I am with you…” She closed her eyes.
Bloom let her gaze wander to Flora’s cane resting on the ground beside her. An idea, quick as lightning, flashed into her brain. “Hey, Flora? Your cane looks a bit plain, don’t you think? Want to give it a makeover?”

At that, Flora’s eyes opened, a sparkle having entered them. “Really?”, she gasped, and did not even bother to try hiding her smile. “You’d do that with me? For me? Oh, I love you!” Bloom’s happy giggle was swallowed by Flora’s lips on hers.

Bloom grinned. She had to admit, her suggestion was also a bit for herself – she loved watching Flora use her magic. This was no exception. Bloom became transfixed as Flora began decorating her cane with flowers with her magic – the simple black material was soon adorned by vibrant flowers in all colours. If Bloom were perfectly honest, she loved the orange one that Flora added last the best.
“A finishing touch – it reminded me of you”, she grinned and kissed Bloom on the forehead. Bloom couldn’t help but smile. With quick fingers, she pressed a leaf – sparkling blue in the night – to Flora’s cane.

“No, this here – this is the real finishing touch. A gift, from me to you, because I love you this much” Was she imagining things or did Flora’s eyes shine with happy tears?
Flora sighed, burying her face in Blooms shoulder. “I love you more. Thank you so much for this idea”, she mumbled, and the words got half swallowed.
Bloom did not mind. Softly, carefully, she traced patterns over Flora’s leg. For some reason, that always helped with her pain.

“I love you, Flora. I’ll always help you bloom. And if this makes you happy? Well, it is all I’ve ever wanted.”
