Work Text:

Guns were Willow's speciality. Always had been, always will be. The adrenaline from shooting a bullet at anything never failed to get a rise out of her. Which is why it doesn't seem unlikely for her to get upset when someone tells her she's using her revolver incorrectly.

"You're holding that wrong." Player stated, eyeing Willow up and down from her position near her. "You should use both hands, to avoid someone getting hurt."

"You think I'm dumb enough to let that happen?" she snapped, shooting Player an annoyed glare. "Besides, why should I care whether or not one of you fuckers gets hurt?"

"What if it's one of the kids?" Willow went silent at that, and a triumphant smirk plastered across Player's face, her hand moving to put a loose lock of hair behind her ear. "Let me help you."

"I don't need your help."

"Alright then, if you don't want to make sure your aim is on point, then be my guest." shrugged Player, turning on her heel to go in the opposite direction.

"Wait!" Willow cried, before she could even register what she was saying. A hesitant look spread across her face for a few moments, her cheeks puffing. It was obvious she was debating in her head whether or not she actually wanted to admit that she didn't know how to hold, or shoot, a gun properly. With a roll of her eyes, and a heavy sigh, she continued. "Can...can you show me?"

"How could I possibly say no when you asked so nicely?" teased Player, but she turned back around and approached Willow again anyhow.

She came up behind the shorter woman. "First," she began, her hands moving to hover - but not touch - over Willow's hips. "Uhhh...can I?"

"Don't make this more awkward than it needs to be."

"Is that a yes?"

"Yes, for God's sake!"

"Okay! Okay!" she responded, now carefully settling her hands on Willow's sides, correcting her posture with ease. Willow felt her face heat up, and she thanked her lucky stars that her fur kept the redness of her cheeks at that moment hidden. It wasn't like Willow was enjoying this - no way - she was just embarrassed that Player, of all people, was teaching her how to shoot a gun properly. That is all it was. Right?

It would be a lie for Player to say that the position they were currently in didn't make her heart beat a little faster, but she tried her hardest to ignore the feeling, focusing on improving Willow's stance. "And now- lift your arms." she instructed, straightening the wolf's elbows once she did so. "Shoot at your target." The sound of a gunshot ripping through the sky could be heard, as it landed bullseye on the target. Willow lowered the gun, a proud look behind her eyes. "You're welcome."

"Yeah, yeah." mumbled Willow, shrugging off Player's touch and tutting. The detective snorted, shaking her head in amusement, before turning around once again and wandering away.
