Chapter 1: Liquid Luck's Influence

Chapter Text

Harry felt like he was getting desperate to collect Professor Slughorn's unaltered memory that the Headmaster wanted him to see for his private lessons. He had asked the man for them since Slughorn seemed to really like him. When that failed, Harry had thought about getting the man drunk after Ron had taken the Love Potion, only to get distracted by Ron getting poisoned. Professor Dumbledore had shown his displeasure at Harry's lack of progress during their last lesson, as well as informing him that until Harry got the memory, there was nothing else they had to meet for.

It was then that Harry recalled the small bottle of Felix Felicis that he had won in his first Potions Class of the term, thanks to the Half-Blood Prince's copy of his Potions Book. Harry felt that if anything could help him get the memory, it would be the Liquid Luck that Slughorn had given him, which Harry thought would be rather ironic, being the tool to finally help him get the man's memory. Harry pulled the small bottle of potion out of his trunk as well as his father's trusty Invisibility Cloak before taking a swing of it. "How's it feel?" Hermione asked as she and Ron watched him.

"Interesting," Harry admitted as a wash of magic seemed to surround him. Though he did notice that while most of the surrounding magic felt nice and warm, the parts of his body closest to his two best friends felt like they were being jabbed with needles.

"Interesting? How will that help you get Professor Slughorn's memory?" Hermione asked.

"Don't know," Harry admitted as he put the stopper back into the bottle and placed it back in his trunk. Before he stood back up, he felt an urging from Felix as he stealthily took out his wand and activated the Wards that were part of the trunk's features. Something he had never known about before, but knew the potion was not lying to him. Straightening up, Harry turned back to his friends as he caught the end of a look the pair shared, which seemed to increase the feeling of needles jabbing into his flesh.

"So what's the plan?" Ron asked as the magic surrounding Harry's body wavered as if Ron's words had caused an unpleasant ripple in them.

"I am going to see Hagrid," Harry said as Felix directed him to lie to his friends.

"Hagrid? How does going to celebrate the death of a bloody spider help you get old Slug's memory?" Ron asked, sounding utterly confused.

"I don't know, I just have a feeling it is the place to be tonight," Harry said under Felix's direction.

"That was Felix Felicis, right? You didn't have another random potion in your trunk like Liquid Insanity?" Ron teased, as the ripple in the Magic surrounding Harry almost sent his teeth on edge.

"I think that the potion is just showing me what to do a step at a time, rather than the full picture," Harry said as he slipped on the Cloak. As the door to the room had been left open and they had used the fact they were at the top of the tower for privacy, Harry quickly left the room without a word. Reaching the back of the Fat Lady's portrait, Harry did not have to wait long before it opened as Ginny and Dean Thomas entered. While Harry was used to getting around even in crowds without being touched, as he passed the pair, Harry found Felix made him shift his foot a little as he walked past Ginny. Being unable to see his foot, Ginny tripped over it and went sprawling on the floor, and some laughter was heard, and Dean asked if she was alright. Harry did not stay to see what happened, though he was sure that he had also heard the sound of a glass bottle hitting the floor and rolling a little as the Fat Lady's Portrait swung closed.

While Felix had guided Harry to lie to his two friends to say he was heading down to Hagrid's Hut, Harry saw the path before him leading him somewhere else altogether. Harry was a little surprised to find the path led him down the familiar route to the tapestry of Barnabus the Barmy, teaching a Murder of Trolls to Dance. 'Now, why did you have me come here?' Harry thought in question to Felix, not that he expected any reply from the potion. Not getting any indication to head anywhere else, Harry leaned against the tapestry for a moment before Draco Malfoy showed up, followed by some random first-year girl who had to be either Crabbe or Goyle, not that Harry could tell which at the moment.

"I should not take too long," Draco told the girl as he walked back and forth to summon the door to the Room of Requirement.

'So you want me to find out what Malfoy's doing rather than help me get the memory?' Harry thought to Felix as he felt the urge to follow his rival into the room before the door closed. Barely getting into the room without his cloak getting stuck in the closing door, Harry looked around in awe at the place. Gone was the austere training room that he had taught the D.A. in last year, as in its place was a massive room overflowing with junk, trash, and debris from who knew how many years. Thankfully, there appeared to be pathways through the junk piles so Harry could easily follow the blonde. Draco traveled for a bit before coming to a clearing where a familiar-looking cabinet stood in the middle of all the trash and junk.

As Draco started to wave his wand at the cabinet, Harry racked his memory for why it looked so familiar. It took him a moment to recall the disastrous first use of Floo Powder and having to hide in a cabinet that looked exactly like this one in Borgan and Burks when Draco and his dad showed up. 'This had to be what Draco ordered the shopkeeper not to sell when we tailed him in Diagon Alley,' Harry thought to himself as he barely paid attention to Draco casting spells on the thing. Once more, Felix had him just stand around waiting for something to happen, and he had to admit finding out what Malfoy was doing was nice, though it would be better if his rival were not using non-verbal spells to work on the cabinet so he could get a better idea of what the blonde was up to.

After about fifteen minutes of just standing there watching Malfoy silently casting spells on the cabinet, Harry received a prompt from Felix. As Malfoy lowered his wand and turned away from the strange cabinet to grab something, Harry found himself pulling out his wand again and casting his own non-verbal spell at the thing. Felix then directed Harry to follow Malfoy to the cabinet as the blonde put the item inside. It was a little tough as the Luck Potion directed Harry to climb into the cabinet as well before Malfoy shut the doors. As his rival shut the doors, Harry was a little confused as to what Felix was doing. There was a tap on the door as Malfoy pressed his wand to it right before Harry felt a strange sensation of being in multiple places at once, before the doors to the cabinet were pulled open.

Yet it was not Draco who had opened the doors, but his rival's mother. Seeing her reach into the small space for the item Draco had placed inside, Harry shifted his body so she would not find him, yet Felix got involved as he found himself falling out of the cabinet and his cloak falling off him. 'SHIT, SHIT, SHIT,' Harry swore to himself as Draco's mom turned to look at him, arching an eyebrow at his sudden appearance. Harry wondered if Ron was right and that Felix had gone bad as the woman pulled out her wand and aimed it at him.

Yet rather than curse him or anything, Mrs. Malfoy said, "Fitite Incantatem." Harry expected the wave of magic that had surrounded his body after he drank the Liquid Luck to disappear as she cast the Magic Canceling Charm on him, but it remained in place. Wondering what sort of Luck Felix Felicis gave the user, Harry pulled himself to his feet, only to almost trip again as his shirt caught the edge of something and exposed his lower back.

'FUCK!' Harry swore to himself again, for while Felix was still around, he had a feeling that the Glamor he had placed on himself before coming to Hogwarts was gone, letting Mrs. Malfoy see the scars on his back.

Yet once again, the woman did not act like Harry would have expected her to as a member of Voldemort's Death Eaters. "Heir Potter, I would ask you how you got here, but I think seeing those, I have to ask how you got them?" the woman asked, lowering her wand.

Wondering why she cared about the scars on his back, Harry felt Felix's urging for him to tell her the truth. "My family," Harry said simply.

"Your family did that to you?" she asked, shocking him a little by the tone of her voice, which seemed to have hints of actual concern in it.

"Yeah," Harry said, following Felix's prompting to elaborate a little. "I was brought up by my mom's older sister and her family. They are Muggles and hate Magic with a passion. Hell, my Uncle Vernon hates even Muggle Card tricks and the fake magic they use. So anything 'freaky' that happened when I was growing up, they punished me for it."

"How has no one seen these scars before?" Mrs. Malfoy asked, knowing that her fellow Healers at St. Mungos would have checked when Harry came to get his health check-up before each year at Hogwarts. Not to mention Madam Pomfrey should have done it, especially since, unlike her son, Potter was in Gryffindor, so the Medi-Magical would not have shown any discrimination towards him or given him the wrong treatment. Like the bitch had done to her son after the attack from that Hippogriff a few years ago.

"After my first trip to Diagon Alley, I found the Glamour spell and cast it on myself to hide my scars. It just did not work on this one for some reason," Harry said, tapping his famous lightning bolt scar, and as always, wishing the Glamour had worked on it since he hated all the attention he got from the blasted thing.

"But surely when you go into your yearly health scans at St. Mungos before school starts, the Healer who saw you noticed them?" she asked, wondering how her co-workers could have missed the Glamour on the boy. After all, she had been easily able to detect it when he fell out of the Vanishing Cabinet.

"I have only gone to St. Mungos twice, after Mr. Weasley ended up there during Christmas last year," Harry said, seeing a look of shock flash across the woman's face.

"But... but.... what about Madam Pomfrey, surely she saw them and reported them when she ran her check-ups?" Narcissa asked, growing increasingly concerned for the young teen before her.

"What check-ups? I only ever went there to get some Pepper-up Potions to get rid of a cold, anytime I got hurt while playing Quidditch or something else," Harry said, thinking it would not be a good idea to bring up the yearly adventures he seemed to have that all involved Voldemort. Lest Draco's mom recall they were on opposing sides and start to curse him.

"This is rather troubling information, Heir Potter. But putting it aside, how or why were you in the Vanishing Cabinet?" she asked.

Just like when Felix had him lie to his two friends back in his dorm room, Harry found Felix guiding his words as he answered the woman. "I took some Felix Felicis in hopes that it would help me get a memory from Professor Slughorn since the memory I had seen from him had been altered. I was tasked with doing so by the Headmaster, as he is giving me special lessons that show the history of Tom Riddle. Yet for some reason, the potion led me to your son as he worked in the Room of Requirement on the cabinet which led me here," Harry explained.

"I will say that is very interesting," the woman said as she lifted her wand again and cast another spell on him. "Not saying I don't believe you, but since my son has not been able to get a live object to survive the passage through the cabinet, only for you to come out, I want to confirm your story." Felix directed Harry to wait as some parchment printed out of the white and black haired woman's wand. After a moment, she ripped it away and began to look over it. "Well, you were not lying about having taken some Felix Felicis Potion, but my spell has detected several other potions that are currently in your system. You are listed as being under several loyalty potions, but due to the number of them, the spell I used is not letting me know who they are geared towards. You are under some love potions and even some hatred potions. Thankfully, my spell is letting me know that the Liquid Luck in your system is suppressing the others for the moment," she said as a strange look came to her face.

With a wave of her wand, she summoned some parchment and a quill before writing a quick note that Harry could not see before placing it in the cabinet and sending it to her son. "Heir Potter, put your cloak back on and follow me," she said.

Despite being under Felix and the potion letting him know this was a good idea, Harry still found himself asking, "Why?"

"As I said, the Liquid Luck in your system is suppressing the other potions that you have been doused with. Now, if we had time, I could take you to St. Mungos to get rid of them, but not knowing how long the Felix Felicis will be in your system, I think it would be a better idea to get you to Gringotts so they can take care of it. Also, in case someone you have been dosed to be loyal to had you give them access to your accounts, the Goblins could take care of it," she explained.

"Okay," Harry said as he put the Invisibility Cloak back on before going over to her and grabbing the back of her robes to let her know he was there. Mrs. Malfoy let out a nod of approval as she led him out of the shop, saying farewell to the shopkeeper and that she had to quickly run an errand before she returned. Mrs. Malfoy had Harry stay under the cloak until they got to Gringotts, and she took him to a side room.

"We need a teller to see you for this," she explained as she led him out of the room, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder as they joined the queue.

After about ten minutes, they reached the front and went to an open teller. "What do you want?" the Goblin growled in the normal greeting.

"May your coffers never run dry," Mrs. Malfoy said, making the Goblin's demeanor change right away.

"May the blood of your enemies never fully wash off, or since you are a Healer, may your Clan stay strong and healthy for as long as they can," The Goblin said with an actual 'pleasant' smile. "Now, how may I help you both today?

"I would like, Heir Potter, to visit his Account Manager so they can arrange a Cleansing for him," Mrs. Malfoy said.

"While it is nice you want to get him to see his Manager, why bring him here rather than take him to your work?" the teller asked.

"After randomly meeting Heir Potter a short time ago, I ended up scanning him to confirm why he was here rather than Hogwarts. My scan revealed that he is under several potions, which at the moment are being suppressed by some Felix Felicis he has taken. Not knowing when the luck potion will leave his system, and since I was here, I thought your kind could see to the procedure. Especially as this is what my scan showed," she said, passing over the parchment that had been printed from her wand.

The teller quickly read it before he gave a sharp nod. "I can not fault your reasoning. Please follow me," the teller said as he got off his stool and led them to a side door Harry had never even noticed before. Once they were out of the lobby, the teller began to run, making them jog to keep up. "Sorry about this, but since you are worried about the Luck Potion running out and how far down the corridor Heir Potter's Account Manager's office is, it is best if we run," the Goblin said, looking over his shoulder at them as the trio ran down the white and black checkerboard corridor.

After a fifteen-minute sprint, which had the Goblin, Harry, and Mrs. Malfoy leaning against the wall outside the Potter Family Account Manager's office to catch their breath, the group arrived. As he caught his breath, Harry took a look at the door to his Account Manager's, whatever that was, office. The thing appeared to be a solid piece of shining white crystal and made him, for some reason, think of the fantasy novel The Hobbit and the Arkenstone. Once they had all caught their breath, the teller knocked on the door to be let into the office. The Goblin inside gave Harry and Mrs. Malfoy a strange look as they took seats across from his massive red beryl crystal desk. "Heir Potter, what a surprise to find you visiting and in such company," the Goblin said, leaning forward and glowering at him.

"I am sorry for the unscheduled visit," Mrs. Malfoy said, but the Goblin waved her silent, still angrily staring at Harry.

"As this has been attempted several times, I, of course, am going to confirm your identity," the Goblin said with a dangerous growl as he slowly began to pull things from his desk. He was doing it so slowly that Harry thought that the Goblin expected him and Mrs. Malfoy to flee his office or something.

"Can you hurry this up? We might be on a deadline here," Harry said, prompted by Felix making the Goblin give him a strange look as, with one motion, he put the rest of the objects he seemed to need onto the surface of his desk.

"I will not fault your bravery, but if this is a ruse, you will still face Goblin Justice," the Account Manager said as he harshly grabbed Harry's arm and pulled it towards him before using a jagged blade made of some strange blue crystal to cut Harry's palm. The Goblin then picked up what looked like a turkey baster, though made of some silvery metal that Harry did not recognize, to suck up some of Harry's blood. As the turkey baster was pulled away, Mrs. Malfoy used her wand to heal his palm while the Goblin released the collected blood into a goblet which was made from equal parts black, white, and gray crystal before the Goblin put a topper on it. With the topper in place, the Goblin swirled Harry's blood around, speaking in some strange language, which Harry assumed was Gobbledygook, as the wave of Magic surrounding Harry began to ripple again. Though unlike the unpleasant feeling he got when Ron had been speaking up in the dorms, this ripple felt rather nice.

After the Goblin had finished whatever he was doing with Harry's blood, he changed toppers to make it look a little like a sippy cup before upending the tri-crystal goblet over some parchment. Harry watched in amazement as his blood came out in a small stream that formed itself into words on the parchment. Yet for some reason, watching it happen made Harry feel weird, as, unknown to him, the Inheritance Test that his account Manager was giving him read his magic, putting him into a short trance until the document was finished.

When Harry was able to focus again, he was allowed to look over the test, seeing that his birthname was not Harry but Harrison. Sirius and Neville's mom had not only been his Godparents but had also Blood Adopted him. He was listed as the Lord of his family lines, which did not just include the Potter Family but the Gryffindor Line, the Ravenclaw family, a family called the Peverells, and, due to a Rite of Conquest, he also controlled the Gaunt and Slytherin families. Harry/Harrison also saw that he was listed as the Lord of Sirius's family due to his Godfather making him his Heir and having no other children.

Unlike the test Mrs. Malfoy had performed on him back in Burgan and Borks, the Goblin's test revealed that Harry/Harrison had been under loyalty potions geared towards his two friends, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, Albus, the Order of the Phoenix, Professor McGonagall, and the Dursleys. The Love Potions were geared towards Ginny, for whom he was also under loyalty potions. While the Hatred Potions he was under were geared for anyone in Slytherin, anyone with a Dark Magical Core, Tom Riddle, as well as the idea of being attracted to other men.

It seemed that Mrs. Malfoy's earlier spell had been unable to detect all the types of Potions he was under since he was listed as being under Neutrality Potions geared towards his Magical Guardian, who was not the Headmaster but Remus Lupin, Professor Snape, who was also listed as a secondary Godfather choice but had not come forward to claim the position. He had also been under the Neutrality Potion, with it geared to Sirius, but the potion had been listed as mostly blocked due to the bonds between them with the Godfather and Blood Adopted connection they had.

Harry/Harrison let Mrs. Malfoy take a look at the page of the test dealing with his health issues as he looked through other things. Such as the fact that Dumbles, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley had set up an illegal Marriage Contract between him and Ginny. And while the test did state that he did not have any official Marriage Contracts, it had read something from his magic that stated Harry was interested in someone. Though Harry had no idea who that was, he guessed it was someone who was in Slytherin or had a Dark Core, whatever that was.

Besides the Potions he was under, Harry saw he had also been enchanted with several spells, such as one that interfered with his vision no matter where he sat in a classroom, but was reversed whenever he was riding on a broom. Some spells had blocks on how fast he could learn the various types of magic, with Potions being blocked by almost ninety-three percent. There was a Mail-Ward around him to prevent anyone that Dumbles did not approve of from reaching him via the Owl Post. He had long-lasting memory charms in place that prevented him from recalling words and phrases such as Inheritence Test, Goblin Account Managers, Magical Child Services, Marriage Contracts, Magical Soul Mates, Cleansing Rituals, Loyalty Potions, Hatred Potions, Neutrality Potions, and Wizengamot Family Seats. Harry also noticed that he had a Horcrux bound to his Soul, which he had only heard of during the private lessons on Voldemort. Harry also noticed that he had memory-altering and mind control magic being cast on him that corresponded with the days that he had his lessons with Dumbles.

As Harry put down the test, the Goblin on the other side of the desk was giving him an apologetic look. "I apologized for my brusque demeanor, Lord Potter, but for over a year now, I have been visited by people trying to appear as you while under various methods like Glamours and Polyjuice Potion to gain control of your vaults. And while I was unable to figure out who they were, since it started at the age you could fully claim your family vaults rather than just your Heir Vaults, I was always on my guard. The fakers always seem to leave when I pull out the items to perform an Inheritance Test. I just thought you and Lady Malfoy were a new couple trying to get control of your holdings. But as you are really my client, I do agree with Lady Malfoy. We need to get you cleansed and fast," The Goblin said as a hidden door opened and a Goblin in bright lime green robes came in. "Ah, Silverwing, what luck," the Goblin said, shooting a look at Harry. "I can't go home right now, but I need your help to take my client to undergo a Cleansing Ritual."

"You want me to have overtime just cause you are working late, think again, my dear husband," Silverwing sneered, only for Harry's Account Manager to pass over the pages dealing with Harry's health issues as well as the potion and enchantments the Hume was under. Taking a glance at the forms, Silverwing's eyes bulged a moment before saying, "Okay, so there is an actual reason for this. Very well, young Lord Potter, follow me and quickly."

"It might be a good idea to use a Time Turner with this, so his absence will not be missed at the school," Narcissa called after the Goblin Healer and the teen's retreating backs. She got a wave of confirmation that her message was heard, not that it would be followed, just heard from Silverwing as the hidden door shut behind the pair. Narcissa was allowed to stay in the office as Harry's Account Manager summoned some assistance to collect Harry's family rings as well as to arrest Cart Driver Griphook for allowing others to access Harry's accounts. Narcissa wondered what was on the test regarding Harry's holdings, but she did not even think the teen himself had looked at it, being more interested in the spells and potions he had been under rather than his vault status or his health issues, which, for some reason, he had allowed her to see. This showed a remarkable level of trust shown towards her despite his history with her husband and son.

Bonecrusher, Harry's Account Manager, was furious, though a little thankful at the state of his Client's accounts. He was glad that the test revealed which Goblin had allowed access to his client's vaults, something he had been looking for, since the Humes' parents had died and the boy had gone missing. He was thankful that, despite his client being seen as having come of age after his name had come out of the whole Goblet of Fire fiasco, no one had been allowed to step in and take control of his vaults even after the normal year to do so had passed, and his client had not come forward to do so himself. Though it now made sense why the fakers had started to appear around last year's Samhain to try to gain access to his client's vaults, since even Bonecrusher had not been aware that the Goblet making his client into a Champion had legally made him Lord of his Houses. He was so grateful for not knowing this fact, as well as his father making him fully follow protocol and test his client when he finally showed up after all this time. If he had been lax, someone might have succeeded in taking control of his clients' vaults, not just embezzling from them, stealing all but the Hume's Family Grimoirs of all magic tomes belonging to Lord Potter, or taking control of more of the Potter Family's properties just as they had done with the one known as Shell Cottage.

Barely ten minutes had passed since Bonecrusher had sent some assistance to collect his Client's Family Rings and arrest Griphook before Silverwing and Lord Potter returned. It seemed Bonecrusher's husband had followed Lady Malofy's suggestion since it was clear the Hume had been cleansed. Not only did he look a little healthier, but he seemed less sure of himself as a sign that the Felix Felicis was out of his system, and he had no idea what he should do. Bonecrusher let Lady Malfoy see to his client as he waited for the young man's rings to be brought in. Barely five minutes after Lord Potter had returned, his head assistant, Marrowtooth, brought a collected Family Ring Box. With some trepidation in case the rings did not accept his Client due to what had been done to him, Bonecrusher presented each ring to the boy, though only realizing that one ring, that of the Gaunt family, was missing. Bonecrusher breathed a sigh of relief to see all the Family Rings present had accepted his client's position in their family as the rings combined into a single black ring, which was not marked to better hide which families the Hume controlled.
