this is a half a year after Ed got his automail on so he's still healing. Dumbledore sent a letter to Ed for Hogwarts, ed said no cuz magic suks and cuz he's still healing, and Dumbledore came to the house to convince them otherwise. He succeeded, and then Edward got all of his wizard school stuff with Hagrid and met Ron there. Hohemheim is like a cool wizard with Flammel, cuz alchemy, and ed got a wand made of the death horses as a base, the last one made from them because it's illegal now. Harry, ron, and Ed get to the train, make quick friends of each other, and all get sorted into Gryffindor. Ed also has to keep his automail on the down low and is lamenting the fact that he probably is gonna have to take midnight showers.
follows Ed going to Hogwarts and hiding his alchemy, punching Malfoy, hating brooms, hating Snape, hiding his automail, and getting threatened by Lust and Gluttony to go back home cuz he's a sacrifice. then he dives into finding the stone once he finds out for Alphonse, by the end he doesn't even get to use it because he got hit by a torture spell by Voldemort and got put out of commission after having his automail arm broken. Because of all that, Edward decides to not come back next year and go through with his original plan of joining the Austrian Military for their research and knowledge, hoping that they at least have incomplete stones or a way to find/make them. Alphonse is sad he'll have to go alone the next year but relents
