Work Text:
Hey there. I’m Lemm. I’m known as the “Relic Seeker” around here, though I like to think of myself really as a researcher. My shop in the city is my home, and my very own little museum, and I get to decipher and translate whatever relics come my way. I prefer not to search for them myself and get my hands dirty, so I let curious wanderers and adventurers plunder the treasures and sell them to me for money. I’ve had many people ask me how I make a living in this place, or manage to keep a shop running at all. With the- rather forced -mutiny of the infection taken over, and most previous citizens now reduced to barbaric husks, I can see how setting up shop couldn’t be the easiest thing. Well, I’m gonna tell you my 3 steps to business success during an apocalypse. Number one— services and location are important. Make sure you’re selling something plausible or useful, a somewhere that someone could find it. Weapons, maps and food are good. Things like jewelry are a terrible idea. Number two, sometimes you have to be a bit of a buccaneer. I’ll admit, I’ve offered some really low blows to a couple clueless wanderers who don’t know what they’re giving. Number three, be patient. You won’t get people right away; give people some time to notice you, and set up signs. Well, that’s it. Good luck and happy selling.
