After sparing the different Darkners from the different dark worlds, Castle town became one of the most beautiful places to visit in all of Hometown, The cafe, the shops, and even the simple streets exuded an air of peace and harmony across the town, And yet, for Noelle, the most beautiful place was still Susie's room.
Her room had several decorations that made it very special, a statue of herself that she "borrowed" from Noelle's room in the cyber world, her spiky bed, her drower with spiky clothes (hell, even some of the furniture had little spikes on the edges; you had to be careful when you wanted to put something down on there)
For her, this was the most beautiful place of all, and she was happy to visit it once again
The reindeer and the dragon entered the room, with the snow girl entering first due to her slight excitement
"Gosh Susie, your room is just as lovely as last time!" She said, with a slight blush on her face
"Yeah, well, maybe it's because it hasn't changed much since last time..." She said with a confidence that quickly turned into a very slight embarrassment
"Well...it still looks fantastic!" she said happily
"Heh, i know" she responded with a confident grin.
Susie sat on the edge of the bed, gesturing for Noelle to sit next to her
"So, uhmm, the little dance thingy"
"Y-yeah?"
"What are we supposed to do?"
That's right, as a celebration of the heroes for saving the worlds from the Roaring, Hometown organized a town dance that would take place at the school, accompanied with games, food and more
"Um, well, I can take care of putting on the music and teaching you the dance steps!" Noelle said with mild enthusiasm
"The steps aren't that difficult, and once you learn them, they come naturally" she added
"Heh, well..." Susie replied with a slight smile
"...Although I'm pretty sure we could've practiced at your home" she added, looking away with a slight blush
Noelle turned to look at her, her face turning red
"I MEAN, BECAUSE IT'S MORE SPACIOUS THERE, ISN'T IT?!" Susie said, correcting herself and showing her teeth
"Oh! I mean... I don't think Mom still..." Noelle answered
"likes the idea of you...at our house" Adding afterwards
"Hmm, fair" Susie answered
"I mean, she likes you more than she did at the beginning!" Noelle quickly added
"But I think it will take time before she fully accepts you..." She replied
Noelle got out of bed "But that doesn't matter! I think this place can be...just as comfortable" Noelle said, a blush slowly creeping across her cheeks.
To practice, Noelle bought a record player and a vinyl record called "My Castle Town" from the Sweet Cap'n Cakes' music shop so they could practice dancing; it was the most elegant song they had for sale
Noelle placed the record player on a piece of furniture, and put on the vinyl record, In a few seconds, the music started playing.
Noelle and Susie stood in the center of the room, getting into position to practice. Noelle placed one arm on Susie's shoulder and the other was raised upwards, holding her hand, Susie's other arm was placed behind the deer's waist, Needless to say, this scenario stirred up some excitement in Noelle's mind.
Once in position, Noelle began to explain the dance steps, And she was right, once they learned the basics (one step to the left, one back, one to the right, one forward and repeat) the rest was a piece of cake, Then they could work on the more interesting steps
Noelle thought it might be a good time to strike up a conversation about a few things, so she took the plunge and asked:
"So, uhmm... I don't know if it's ok to ask, but..." She commented with a little sadness
"...How has Kris been lately?"
The question hit Susie, and she lowered her gaze slightly
"They are trying to live with it, y'know, losing a hand..." Susie answered
It was one of the highest prices that had to be paid during the Roaring, Kris lost a hand, Something that was sadly destined to happen. Even though they recovered Dess after saving the worlds, and that Asriel came back from college on the festival day, it wasn't enough to overcome their pain
Kris refused to leave the house, and sometimes even their own room, But luckily, they couldn't refuse the immense support and love of their family and friends, who would be there for them no matter what
"But I know they don't have to deal with that alone" Slowly smiling
"They've been there for me, it would be stupid to think I'd abandon them."
"Me, Toriel, Asriel...we'll make sure we're there for them, and nothing will change that" She said, smiling hopefully
Noelle was glad to hear those words; She knew her friendship with Kris was flawed, but she wanted to try to be there for them, even if it was just a new beginning...
A few minutes passed, Susie was already mastering the steps (or so she thought), she improvised some steps like an underarm spin to give it more style, But during a step backward, she tripped
Noelle was quick and swiftly grabbed her from behind with one arm to prevent her from falling to the ground, The embarrassment of the mistake plus Noelle's surprising strength left Susie with a very prominent blush (Noticing when Susie is blushing is difficult because of her pink skin tone), Something that Noelle did notice, which made her blush even more. She quickly lifted her up and they returned to their positions without saying a word.
They continued practicing more steps, some spins, Susie even lifted Noelle into the air, until something clicked in Susie's head, A slight feeling of guilt...
"Hey, uh, I wanted to... apologize again, for not telling you about these worlds sooner" Susie said, taking that weight off her shoulders
"At first I didn't think this was so serious, but when everything got complicated, I wanted to protect-" Susie continued, but was interrupted
"Susie, I-i understand why you did it, i really do" Noelle commented
"But you...you lied to me"
"you hid this from many people, and I don't think..." Noelle paused as she lowered her head, saddened
"I can forgive you now" she finished.
Susie lowered her head in regret
"I...i get it" Susie answered
Noelle smiled slightly.
"But I still trust you! I know you wouldn't lie out of resentment or distrust towards me or others" Noelle said as a motivational comment
"And honestly... I hope I can forgive you someday" Noelle said to conclude
Susie's spirits lifted a little.
After practicing for several minutes, the music came to an end.
Noelle and Susie looked at the record player, which was no longer playing
"Hey! We don't suck that bad!" Susie said, Motivating herself after completing the practice
"We totally got this in the bag, The other dudes will look like a mess compared to us!" Susie said, laughing loudly.
"Fahaha Susie! It's not a competition!" Noelle answered with a little laugh
"But yeah...it's been...nice, practicing with y-you" Noelle said, a little nervously
"Well, I guess I don't suck that bad when someone like you is teaching me" Susie replied, looking to the side
Noelle blushed a little
"Y'know? It's...relaxing, being with you" Susie continued
"I feel that with you... I don't have to do much, I could keep my mouth shut and still..."
"Enjoy being with you..."
This whole moment relaxed Noelle; they were still holding hands, and Noelle's other hand still rested on Susie's shoulder, But Susie still had one free hand
When Susie confessed the feelings she had when she was with Noelle, something inside her brain collapsed, something that in the outside could've not be seen; she just stared at Susie, blushing, smiling and with her eyes half-closed
Susie turned to look at her and noticed her expression
"Hey, uh, Noelle, is...everything okay?" Susie said, blushing slightly
"You look a little... funny" she added, looking to the side and scratching the back of her neck
But Noelle could no longer think straight (to be honest, she never could)
Her feelings no longer allowed her to speak; she could only ACT...
Noelle, quick but gentle, approached Susie and gave her a kiss, with a slight fear that their snouts would bump with each other, It was something unexpected (in a good way) for Susie, who was left wide-eyed, with her mouth slightly open, without saying a word
Unfortunately, seeing Susie's reaction, all the confidence she had gained melted like ice, she thought she had invaded her personal space and slowly she began to regret the act
"(Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh...)" She thought to herself
"T-that was an- i mean i didn't mean to do that- i mean I WANTED TO! but i shouldn't- i should not have done that???- y'know, i don't think you wanted to but!!-..." She began to babble rapidly and nervously, interrupting herself between each sentence as her face turned completely red
Still nervous, she sat on the edge of Susie's bed, bringing her hands to her face in regret and embarrassment as she quietly repeated "oh gosh" to herself
"That was..." Susie said, slowly coming out of the trance of the kiss
"Was that inappropriate?! I'm so sorry!!, I-i didn't think it would bothe-" Noelle babbled rapidly
"...peppermint?" Susie interrupted her
Noelle snapped out of her panic attack and looked bewildered. She had expected various responses, especially rejection ones, but she certainly hadn't anticipated an answer like that
"I mean, I dunno if that tasted like peppermint, but it's, uh, close" Susie replied with all the calm in the world, more interested in her own newly generated doubt
Noelle was stunned by the answer; she had calmed down a little, but her face was still completely red. What was she supposed to do with that information? Stay silent? Faint? KISS HER AGAIN!?
Before Noelle could even form a response, they heard a strange noise in the room...
It soon turned out to be a...digging sound?
In the right-hand corner of Susie's room, a hole opened up, roughly the size of a yoga ball, from which Lancer, Susie's first great friend, second prince from the dark and little bouncy pumpkin came out, landing with a splat sound
"How's the party going? Bozos?" Lancer said, sticking his tongue out
"Lancer!" Susie shouted excitedly, approaching Lancer and giving him a high five with a jump.
"Cool to see you again, dude," added Susie, happily.
"(DID SHE FORGET WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?)" Noelle thought, as she stared at Susie and Lancer with wide eyes
Lancer noticed Noelle and turned to Susie
"Ooh! I didn't know ice cream girl was with you" Lancer commented
"Yeah, uh...we were kind of...in the middle of something?" Susie said, blushing
"Don't worry, Susie! I understand," Lancer replied
"Everyone likes a little ice cream" said Lancer, making his handsome face
"DUDE!!" Susie yelled at him, her face turning almost completely red, while Noelle was in the same boat, but worse
"Anyways, I came here to deliver the good news!" Lancer continued
"The blue person whose name I still know has arrived!, they're now at-" Lancer added before being interrupted
"KRIS IS HERE!?" Susie and Noelle shouted in unison
"Exactly! As I was saying! They're at the cafe right now with the toothpaste boy!" Lancer added
"You'd better come quickly! I'm already on my way there" Lancer concluded
"See ya!" After saying that, Lancer jumped back into the hole he had already dug, making a reversed splat sound
"Quick, Noelle! We have to tell Kris everything!" Susie said excitedly
"I-i'll be right there!" Noelle responded, sharing the feeling of excitement
"Oh, and uh... Noelle?" Susie added
"Yeah?" Noelle replied with intrigue
"You'd better tell me what I tasted like to you after this" Susie added, bursting into laughter, and then leaving the room
Noelle's face looked like it was going to explode from how red it looked
Susie's last comment filled Noelle's head with various thoughts, some very sweet, some that only the angel could judge, she even thought that Susie was right, they were definitely going to win that dance even if it wasn't a competition, but the most special one...
She was happy that this time, it wasn't a dream.
