Again in another world (but permanently now)

Summary:

Choi Sung-Woon was transported to a different world to be a God, but he wasn't alone as an old friend was brought with him, their connection too strong to be able to separate them, though they still needed to find each other.
Well, neither of them are strangers to be thrown in the middle of nowhere with no support, so it can't be that hard.

Chapter Text

When Sung-Woon found himself in a completely different place after falling asleep in front of his computer, he did not panic.

It wasn't his first being hijacked by technology, and certainly wouldn't be the last as he was a digidestined.

He just wondered what had happened this time for him to be taken so abruptly.

Fortunately, Wiz, his partner, was with him.

Wiz was a Wizardmon, a digimon that looked like a child, though his true age was unknown, as the digimon himself refused to say it.

Wiz was standing under Sung-Woon’s newly discovered cloak, looking disoriented.

“Wiz, are you ok?”

“I’ll live”

The knot that was forming in his chest eased a little.

“Do you recognize this place?”

“Sorry Bossman, doesn't ring any bells”

He frowned.

That wasn't good.

Wiz had come from Witchelny, a realm of magic and learning, and he was once a professor there or so he says.

There were hardly any places that he didn't know or haven't personally visited.

“Can you find our way out of here?” He asked “If it's a place you don't recognize, it can't be-”

“So you're all here”

Sung-Woon stopped mid sentence, surprised by the sudden presence that looked too human to not be suspicious.

The one who spoke, Aldin, gave them an explanation of what was happening.

So they were given the chance to become Gods.

That was… crazy.

And ironic.

Sung-Woon and Wiz had defeated God-like creatures before.

But he was getting the offer to be turned into one?

Honestly, if it was just that, he would have declined.

He saw what Gods are like, they are not invincible, they are not immortal.

They are just strong enough to not be pushed away from their thrones.

But the possibility of leaving everything behind, of being part of a game he knew he could and would win…

That was what made him be one of the 27 that chose to stay.

Wiz wasn't mad that he chose to abandon everything they knew, as he himself had grown tired of their worlds, both real and digital.

The digimon held his hand and smiled to indicate he was ok with Sung-Woon choice, which made Sung-Woon be more at ease.

Soon they were given the chance to get their Small Areas.

Sung-Woon was the first and he was about to pick a card when Aldin spoke again.

“And about your little… companions” They said “Although they are linked to you in a soul level, they can’t stand by your side, they'll stay in the mortal plane, but you can always find them is you want them with you, they'll live forever like you and will be reborn if killed, just like their species already does”

That made him pause for a moment, but a pull on his hand caught his attention.

Wiz nodded with a smile.

Right, they had been in worse situations than death games before.

This time couldn't be different.

Sung-Woon picked a card, only to curse aloud.

He had gotten Insects.

How lucky.

***

Wiz woke up on the ground.

Not the first time it happened, but it wasn't the comfiest napping spot.

He sat down and looked around.

He was in the middle of nowhere and deep inside, so deep he was surprised he could even feel it, he felt that his connection to the digiworld had been cut.

Also not the first time that it happened, but it still left him feeling a bit uneasy.

He got up and dusted off his clothes before closing his eyes.

He tried sensing his partner but stopped as soon as he started.

The readings were all over the place, it was like he was everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

Yeah, that would be a problem.

Well, he could always do a little magic and locate the general direction of his presence, though even that might be difficult.

Yet that was a start.

He just hoped it didn't take long, he hated being away from his partner for too long.

Woonie always forgot to take care of himself whenever Wiz left the kid alone.

Well, how hard could finding a God be?
