Chapter Text
Gil was captain of a pirate crew, he wasn't friendly nor out going but everyone listens to him and respects him though he never intended to lead a crew of pirates, he went along with it and is now leading the crew to an island said to have treasure worth more than you could ever imagine but he didn't just find treasure
"Halt! Don't take another step" He shouted out to the unknown man who was leisurely walking
his rather high-end clothes that were slightly damned were out of place, he seems like a nobleman but he had no disgust or dislike to his situation and surroundings, suddenly he smiled and took small steps towards Gil
"Don't take another step!" He said as he draws his sword and points it at the nobleman Infront of him, did the man not understand his language?
The nobleman stays calm even with a sword pointing at him but without a hint of fear, he pushed the sword downwards with his index finger, blood seeping out from his finger and Gil pulls his sword back, confused, he couldn't tell if this man is playing tricks or is he oblivious
He pulls the man's hand towards himself and wipes the finger with a piece of cloth he had on him, there was a feeling that made him have trust in the nobleman, it was just a small amount of trust but he had never been like this with someone and suddenly the nobleman spoke
"Ah.. I forgot to introduce myself" the nobleman wipes his hand on himself and introduced himself to Gil, his voice was alluring and soothing like lullabies
Lizel had told Gil his name and that he doesn't know where he, maybe he had washed ashore? His clothes were damned so that's an idea but his hair is dry and sliky, he doesn't look dirty or anything
"You must be a pirate" after confirmation from Gil he asked if he could join his crew and after a couple of round of questions and persuasion, Gil finally agreed
The crew had carried the treasure they found onto the ship and called out to their captain because they couldn't find him, Gil went back to the shore where everyone was obviously warry of the nobleman but after an introduction from him suddenly everyone trusted him and was rather friendly, maybe they were planning on getting something from the him but without them saying it, you can't be sure
In the evening they were having a feast from the things they gathered from the island and some fish they caught, Lizel tried to help with hunting but got denied by Gil who just thought it didn't fit him
"aren't you joining your crew?" A gentle voice call out behind him while he was eating alone, staring into the distant sea, he answered with a small hum
"May I sit with you captain?" He glares at the him, saying he didn't want to be called "captain" by him but he didn't deny for Lizel to sit next to him
"Where are we going to be heading?" He said while enjoying the sea breeze with a smile
"Capital"
"Well that's nice"
"Whatever" he didn't play it much attention that the nobleman was trying to start a conversation
Gil was always distant but when ever he's with Lizel he always seem more talkative then ever and even though it didn't seem like it to anyone but to his long time crew, he was talking more than he ever had
Later that night while almost everyone had gone to sleep and Gil was on the deck, drinking red wine and then he noticed a figure coming up from below the deck
Lizel had came out to enjoy the beautiful night sky for a little, he walked over to Gil and smiled dearly
"Do you ever get lonely out here alone?"
"No"
"Am I interrupting you then?"
"No"
"Alright then" the man lends over the railing while he stares at the night sky, glittering with shining stars but the man shines brighter...
"Are you not going to sleep?"
"I'll sleep when I want to" it came out harsher then intended but it doesn't seem to bother the nobleman, instead he giggled
"What's funny?"
"You amuse me, sir Gil" he glared at the man who was smiling childishly at him
Amuse? What is that supposed to mean when it's said from the nobleman's mouth, if it was anyone else he would just ignore it and forget about it but from him? Forgetting it isn't a choice
"Do you trust me?" He turned to Gil and asked
"What do you get from lying?"
"A lot, you don't suspect me a little?"
"I do"
Yeah he didn't trust Lizel completely but trust was growing fast with each word he spoke to him, like his voice was slowly luring him in closer
"Have a goodnight, I've enjoy our little chat" the man left his side and walked away but his scent lingers, for the first time Gil felt lonely and each sip of wine makes it worse
"Fuck it, i'm going to bed" he drunk the rest of wine in the glass and ended the night
