Akutagawa and Chuuya went on a well needed date, due to mafia orders by Mori constantly due to the aftermath of the decay of angels they got barely any time just to themselves. They missed each others presence in this long period of constant chaos. but this day they both finally are off of work and have the time to relax just the two of them. Chuuya saw this new movie showing on theaters that he so desperately wanted to see, it was a horror film about a shadow with red eyes that chases people around. The monster secretly reminded him of Akutagawa but he wouldn’t dare tell him that fact.
They walk into the cinema holding hands and they walk up to the cashier to buy the tickets.
“Hello what will you be seeing today?” The cashier said with a radiant smile.
Chuuya leans his arm on the table and points at the movie poster behind the cashier.
“We will be seeing that movie.”
“Okay, what type of refreshments would you like?”
Chuuya taps Akutagawa’s shoulder and he turns to face him, Chuuya tilts his head to the menu on the screen.
“Pick something.”
Akutagawa sighs.
“I would prefer not…”
“God you can be so stubborn, he would like a bottle of water and some popcorn without butter, I would like the nachos.”
The cashier rings everything up and hands them their tickets, they make their way to the pickup area and grab their snacks. They make their walk towards the door to the theater room and the theater is huge, each chair is plush with an adjustable back and footrest. They can spot some couples sitting beside each other with blankets and friend groups.
“Where do you want to sit?”
Akutagawa looks down to Chuuya and then around the cinema.
“Any spot away from others where we will be undetected.”
“Ryuunosuke… we are off the clock stop acting like we are on a mission.”
“I still want to be extra cautious.”
“Fine…”
They sit in the far back corner towards the exit door because via Akutagawa’s words ‘what if an enemy finds us here and we need a clean escape’ they should be right next to the damn door in a spot that is so awkward to see the screen. Chuuya was getting slightly irritated but he lets it all go as they ease down into the chairs and Akutagawa swiftly grabs Chuuya’s hand looking into his eyes with a slow nod and hum.
That slow nod with a hum accompanying it is a way Akutagawa shows that he is content and happy. Chuuya cherishes that little hum like it’s a lifeline. He smiles and stares at the screen as the movie begins.
Thirty minutes pass and the screen shows two men hiding underneath a cabinet, the dark kitchen only allowing a shadow of their figures visible to the eye. The camera pans towards one of the man’s faces and the music playing adds an eerie feeling through the viewers.
Akutagawa knows what’s about to occur he has experienced something similar in a past mission so his face is deadpanned and his body is stiff in his chair. Chuuya on the other hand is slightly more affected by the visual, Chuuya has endured more than a handful stressful moments in his life so he’s not particularly scared by the display but more or less concerned for the people.
The screen goes still and all of a sudden the two men get taken by the monster and disappear with no trace left behind, just the faint echo of a scream.
Chuuya jerks back over the scene and Akutagawa looks over at him with an expressionless face.
“Mmm is Chuuya scared?”
“I’m not shut up!”
“Shh don’t want to worry the other people here with your yelling, would it be better if I sat beside you?”
Chuuya rolls his eyes and taps right next to him.
“God you can be such an asshole at times.”
Akutagawa grabs Chuuya’s waist and scoots him closer giving him a side hug while resting his head on Chuuya’s head.
“I may be a bit, but you love when I tease you.”
“How can you be so smooth? I remember when we first started dating you were all flustered any time I gave you affection now look at ya- all cocky and forward.”
Akutagawa hums and grabs Chuuya’s hand.
“Because you are the first person I have ever cherished that’s not my sister.”
No more words were spoken during the rest of the duration of the film, only tiny hums here and there from Akutagawa and soft smiles from chuuya.
