Conan tried to convince himself that it was just a moment of weakness, a mere momentary imbalance in his otherwise steady state of mind. There’s no real danger, nothing to fear now. Just a moment of weakness in front of the fear of losing her. After all, she is safe now.
Or is he lying even in his mind? Deceiving himself about the magnitude of what he truly feels?
Maybe it is time to address the unspoken. Perhaps it was finally time to recognize and accept that the relationship he shared with her was far more complex than he had ever admitted to himself.
