Chapter Text
The first time this world offered anything familiar to Midoriya Izuku was when he decided to rest his feet. He had spent the whole morning asking anyone who was willing to listen if they had seen the person he dubbed as the ‘Masked Villain.’ While the search up to this point yielded no results, Izuku did come across several odd vending machines which peaked his curiosity. Despite the initial attempt to ignore them and focus on the task at hand, his mind increasingly craved some sort of distraction with each “no” he received. Therefore he soon gave in and began to examine each one he came across.
Aside from surface level similarities they didn’t look like typical ones at all. These vending machines had two large wheels with one on each side at the bottom and a coin slot he would be hesitant to put any yen coin, banknote, or payment card in. Because one Izuku doubted anything he had on him was valid currency, and two, without any additional information, like prices, he figured it would probably go into the void even if the former weren’t the case. The display window for the products was on the smaller side too as the vending machines only had a drink tray that was two rows of four. Speaking of which, the products were perhaps the oddest out of everything. Cans in an assortment of colors all had the same simple black silhouette logo of a respective animal with their Japanese names written in English. But what truly made the cans stand out was that they looked more like toy products than anything else.
Even for a past in an alternate reality, Izuku had trouble believing these were actual drinks people were buying. So he then started to ask about the vending machines as a follow-up question. The answers were largely the same as the ones he got for the Masked Villain, except this time people actually knew what Izuku was talking about. One would think someone walking around in a tri-colored suit wouldn’t be able to escape notice so easily, but even he had fallen victim to it upon arrival. Nonetheless Izuku did eventually get a somewhat solid answer about the vending machines from a man who had been riding a bicycle. He appeared to be in his late 20s and wore a black jacket with two white stripes going down each sleeve.
“Those vending machines?” the man asked and pointed at one to confirm. Izuku nodded. “Well, I’m not sure I’m allowed to get into specifics… But they’re from the company I work for.”
“…I see.”
After proceeding to look him up and down, the man stared at Izuku with what seemed to be uncertainty. “Is there anything else you need?”
As much as he wanted to ask for more details, Izuku didn’t want to risk the man getting into any trouble at work and so watched as he rode off.
The strange vending machines continued to linger in the back of Izuku’s mind. So, when he decided to sit down on one of the square benches spread throughout the plaza, he figured it wouldn’t hurt to pass the time by writing about them in a page of his notebook. Not like it’s going to be needed for hero analysis anymore anyway.
A man who sat across on a neighboring bench paid his presence no mind and simply kept munching away on a bucket of dagashi. No visible reaction. Tension left his body. Since this world lacked Quirks, a fact Izuku tried not to think about too much, genetics were not as diverse when compared to home. Combined with the fact he was stuck in his middle school uniform, it’s no wonder there were people who gave him odd looks when registering the green hair. Luckily it looked like that wouldn’t be a problem here, making it appear to be a peaceful spot to rest.
…Still made note to go find a hat to wear later though.
Unfortunately, this peace did not last long as a scream echoed through the air.
“Hey, move! Move it! Move!” A man wearing turquoise pants ran past like his life depended on it. After taking a glance back, his shoulder collided with another. He fell to the ground and his back hit against a tree. “Ow…”
The man in turquoise pants sat up, only to scream again when catching sight of who was now in front of him. There was a woman in a red plaid shirt with a furious expression. She kicked up her right foot and sent her shoe flying. It struck him on the forehead and bounced off to be caught by the man sitting across from Izuku.
“He got hit,” the man said point blank. He examined the shoe for a moment then dropped it to continue eating.
Meanwhile, Izuku could not help but be impressed. “What incredible aim.”
“Ow…” the man in turquoise pants said again as he rubbed his forehead.
“You useless man! You took money out of my purse again didn’t you?!” the woman yelled.
“Listen, devil-wife! What’s wrong with letting me have a little?!” he yelled back as he stood up and then made a break for it.
“How dare you–!? Don’t run!” After taking off her other shoe, she threw it as hard as she could. This time it bonked off the back of the man’s head and sent him back down to the ground. The woman wasted no time running over to him. “Takeshi!”
Izuku and the man sitting across from him continued to stare at the scene.
“He got hit again.”
“Yes, he did,” Izuku agreed quietly.
“Fun. Really fun!”
He looked over at the man. Fun?
Before Izuku could question that reaction any further, something happened that shocked him to his very core. A slot appeared on the man’s forehead. One that looked exactly like the ones he saw on the vending machines. Seemingly out of thin air, the man pulled out a strange silver coin with an X-like designed engraved on the side. He inserted it into the slot which disappeared straight after. Then multiple of those same coins engulfed the man’s body and when they receded, it was transformed into something that wouldn’t be out of place for someone with a mutant-type Quirk. The man now appeared to have a head based on a rhinoceros and legs based on an elephant. However, the arms and upper body reminded Izuku of a mummy rather than any animal. It was covered with black and brown wrappings and there was a black belt around the waist.
‘No way! Don’t tell me Quirks exist here after all!?’ thought Izuku. That’s when something began to emerge from the man’s back. It crawled out on all fours as it exited the body and climbed over the bench. Once it was able to stand on its own two feet, the silver coins returned, morphing the man back to his original form. He then continued to eat as if nothing happened. The thing stood up tall and stretched out its arms, revealing itself as something Izuku would have assumed to be a person with a bison mutant Quirk had it not been for the circumstances. “But that’s impossible! The emergence of Quirks would have been all over the internet! So, what on Earth is this power?!”
The bison mutant slammed its fists onto the ground and a wave of energy spread throughout the plaza. Chaos unfolded. Izuku could only watch as shoes flew off peoples’ feet to hit them in the head, not at all dissimilar to the situation with that apparent wife and husband. But it wasn’t until his own red shoe flew off and hit him that Izuku’s attention snapped back to the man who caused all this.
“Got ‘em!” the man, or rather the villain, cheered and started clapping his hands together.
‘He’s acting rather childishly,’ Izuku thought as he rubbed at his injury.
While taking another bite out of his collection of dagashi, the bison mutant slammed down its fists again. This time instead of just shoes, a whole array of objects began to hurl themselves at people. Metal and plastic buckets, cans, purses, even someone’s underwear was amongst the chaos. Izuku considered himself lucky that it was only his shoe that decided to come for a round two.
Without wasting anymore time he grabbed his red shoe off the ground and ran straight passed the villainous duo until he was able to hide himself around a corner.
“It hit! Again!” Izuku heard the villain say.
“Go get ‘em!” said a new garbled voice which he assumed belonged to the bison mutant.
The sound of another slam and more screams caused Izuku to feel a tingling sensation underneath his skin. He waited… Nothing. His body sagged against the wall, and a shaky breath was let out. Hastily the pen and notebook were returned to their rightful place in the yellow backpack.
Appearing to now be unaffected by whatever power that bison mutant had, Izuku began to assess the situation properly.
Clearly, despite what initial research showed, this world had people with at least the equivalent of a ‘Quirk’ even if they were not widely known. From what Izuku saw this equivalent seemed to act like a magnet, but since not all of the objects were made of metal it’s more likely that it had some sort of control over gravity.
“Making everyone sort of a mini planet with a gravitational pull, perhaps? That could explain how it can manipulate all those objects to go toward people. And whoever that villain was, he definitely has control over the bison mutant as it seems to only do as he desires,” Izuku muttered. “But why use it to hit people with things?”
Taking a risk, he peaked around the corner to observe the two. Luckily they were too preoccupied to look behind just as Izuku had hoped.
“Hit them!” the villain commanded with childlike glee as he bounced in his seat.
“Witnessing that woman hit her husband with a shoe like she did, no doubt started this fascination. And just like a child, the villain wanted to try it for himself.” Compared to other stuff he’d seen villains do before, this was quite tame. However, considering the size of some of the objects being thrown, someone could easily get a concussion. He knew from experience.
The plaza became practically devoid of life in no time at all. With no more targets in sight, the villain and the bison mutant started to head toward where the majority of people had fled.
His stomach dropped.
Even if this situation proved to Izuku that people here could have the equivalent of a Quirk, that doesn’t guarantee the equivalent of a ‘Pro-Hero’ would show up to stop them. The likelihood seemed slim to none and who knew how many people would get hurt if something wasn’t done soon?! But what could Izuku do about it? He was just Deku. He knew that now. Even when he tried to do something, it just made things worse. Just like ‘yesterday,’ when he ran out without thinking to help Kacchan and deservedly got chewed out by the Pro-Heroes afterward. But he didn’t learn his lesson, did he? No, instead he ran after the Masked Villain and got himself isekai’d here.
The reality was nobody wanted his help, and nobody needed his help.
But… but…
As the two continued to walk away, the heaviness that plagued his heart faded and was replaced by something he’d felt countless times before.
He ran out of his hiding place into plain view and picked up the first thing his hand touched off the ground. With all of his might he hurled what turned out to be a shoe at them. It ended up hitting the villain in the back of the head, causing the two to stop in their tracks.
“Hey! Want something more fun?” he shouted at the top of his lungs. “How about a challenge? I bet you can’t hit me!”
The two turned around and he gulped as the villain smiled. He could only watch in dismay as the ‘mastermind’ villain pointed at him and told the bison mutant, “Hit him!”
Midoriya Izuku’s legs had moved on their own for a third time.

Episode 1: "Happy Birthday!"
⨷ ⨷ ⨷
At the head office of the Kougami Foundation, three people were watching footage taken of the fight that had occurred the other day on a tv monitor with varying degrees of interest and emotion. The president of the foundation itself, Kougami Kousei, was elated at the developments it showed, while his secretary, Satonaka Erika, couldn’t care less and opted to focus on what was on her computer screen. Then last but not least was the foundation’s brigade captain, Goto Shintaro.
“The green Core Medal combo. Reviewing this footage makes it obvious how potent Core Medals are. And OOO used that power with ease!” Goto’s fist clenched at Kougami’s praises. OOO, the armored man on screen, finally put an end to his enemy with one big barrage. “It’s splendid… Magnificently splendid! Therefore, I’ve decided to give him a present,” Kougami told the two as he put the finishing touches on the cake he had made at his desk. Once done, he gestured for Satonaka, who was sitting on the couch nearby, to come over. “Satonaka.” She smiled and got off the couch to hand him the item he requested. “Don’t you think this cake is perfect for the occasion?”
“I object!” Goto said and walked over to Kougami’s desk. The final piece of the present was put in order. “OOO is working with one of the Greeed, we can’t let him–”
“Goto,” Kougami interrupted. “Your job is simply to continue observation.”
“But… President!” Goto began as Kougami turned away to face the windows. “The reason I left the police force was to help save the world.”
“Precisely! You’re doing this to help save the world.”
While the two were talking, Satonaka had packed the cake in a white box decorated with a red bow. She then promptly presented it to Goto. “Here you go. Make sure it doesn’t slide around in the box.”
He reluctantly took the box from her hands and, after taking one final look at Kougami, left the office.
Legs didn’t stop moving until he made it down to the parking garage and stood in front of the Ridevendor parked near a pillar. Currently in its default state, the Ridevendor had the appearance of a primarily black vending machine with a display window showcasing a two row and four column drink tray. He took out a Cell Medal and put it into the coin slot. Payment fulfilled, he pushed a button to select one of the red cans. After grabbing it he inserted one more, but instead of hitting one of the small buttons, Goto pressed the big black button located right above the coin slot. In an instant the vending machine transformed itself into a motorcycle. Helmet included. Goto wasted no time putting it on and sitting in the driver’s seat to race out of the garage.
He drove for about a minute or two before parking at the corner of a vacant intersection. The helmet was removed and hung back on one of the handles. Gaze went to the blue sky. A breath was let out. He needed to prepare himself for the upcoming interaction with OOO. Goto didn’t hate the vagabond who held the mantle per say. He hadn’t done anything wrong to him personally. It’s just the way he carried himself got under Goto’s skin. Too friendly, too carefree, too green. Sure, the current OOO was a competent fighter and had great determination when it came down to it. However, the vagabond’s lack of experience was evident when one looked closely. Not to mention it was clear that he had no clue about the true scale of the situation he stumbled into if his alliance with the bird Greeed was anything to go by.
Someone like him was unfit to save the world.
‘If only… If only I could get the chance to prove I can do it myself,’ Goto thought. He sat there. Letting all these feelings wash away. Lest they compromise a simple delivery run.
Once satisfied, he took out the red can to help locate the vagabond. The tab was about to be pulled up when a terrified scream paused the action.
Looking down the street in its direction, Goto saw a teenager was running toward him. He was wearing a gakuran and had… green hair!? Just when Goto was about to get hung up on why a boy that age would dye his hair, he registered that the teenager was running toward him in a panicked state. Both hands waving high in the air to grab his attention.
“Keep driving! Get out of here!” the teenager yelled and Goto’s eyes widened when he caught sight of what the teenager was running from.
“A Yummy?” Quick into action, the red can’s tab was pulled. It switched into Animal Mode and took the form of a hawk. “Find OOO and bring him here.” After it left Goto pulled out the Remington 870 he had and yelled out to the teenager, “Get behind me!”
Immediately he did as he was told and retreated behind the Ridevendor.
“Be careful, that bison villain seems to have some sort of gravity manipulation Quirk! If you’re within range, it can cause objects to fly at you like a magnet!” the teenager rambled in between catching his breath.
The use of the term ‘Quirk’ struck Goto as odd, but it wasn’t the time to question things as the Yummy took priority. He at least understood the gist of what this one could reportedly do.
With the way ahead now clear, a couple of shots were fired at the Bison Yummy. It stumbled back in its tracks. Goto went to tell the teenager to take this opportunity to flee, but a man holding a bucket came around a corner.
Upon seeing them, he smiled and loudly proclaimed, “Hit them!”
The Bison Yummy leapt forward and slammed its fists down on the road. A wave of purple energy sprung out forward from the point of impact, well within range of its two targets. All the litter and loose objects nearby rose up and got hurled in Goto’s direction.
“Watch out!” the teenager exclaimed. Running out from behind the Ridevendor, he used his body to shield Goto from the onslaught of objects. However, he only managed to do so temporarily. Something big knocked him to the side and onto the ground, leaving Goto to be struck by his own bike helmet and follow suit.
“I got them! I got you!” the man cheered.
The two victims groaned and sat themselves up.
“There was no need to put yourself in danger like that!” Goto scolded.
“But you could have gotten more hurt,” the teenager stuttered. “What if you got a concussion?”
Goto shook his head. “You need to get out of here. You’ll just be in the way if you stay.”
A flinch. “I know that…” Eyes looked over to the duo who were still celebrating their success. “But…”
Goto sighed, sensing a familiar sentiment. “Don’t worry. Backup is on its way.”
At this point he just hoped the vagabond would get here soon. This simple delivery run was getting troublesome real fast.
When Hino Eiji was sent to chase after Momoko by Chiyoko, his temporary employer, he genuinely didn’t think he’d have to run as much as he did. After all, the woman had shown up looking for her husband without any footwear, and judging by her actions, she had been chasing him for a good while. With only socks on, one would believe feeling all those loose rocks and such, combined with all that previous running, would slow someone down a bit. Nope. It was only when Momoko found her husband at a kiosk that the chase finally ceased for her and Eiji.
At the sight, he let his posture slump and took the chance to catch his breath before delivering the sandals he had been carrying to Momoko. However, his time to relax quickly faded as he witnessed her sock her husband, Takeshi, in the face.
“Would you get a freaking clue already?” she said to Takeshi, who was now sprawled on the ground. Momoko positioned herself over him and bent down. With both hands, she grabbed onto his vest and shook him vigorously. “How much more do you need to screw around before you’re satisfied!?”
“Let go of me, devil-wife!” he exclaimed, desperately trying to break free.
Feeling a rush of adrenaline, Eiji hurriedly ran over and pulled Momoko off Takeshi. “He-Hey! Hang on, no fighting!”
“Who’re you?” Takeshi asked, revealing his newly acquired black eye.
Eiji looked over at him and awkwardly began to explain himself. “Uh, Chiyoko asked me to–”
“Look, I appreciate it,” interrupted Momoko. “But this is about our marriage, so could you mind your own business?”
“But…” His gaze went down to what he’d been holding in his right hand and then presented it to her. “For now, take these sandals.”
“Eh?” Momoko looked down at her feet. Judging by her expression, Eiji guessed that she had only now realized what he had when she had shown up at the Cous Coussier. But, Momoko had left as quickly as she came, forcing Chiyoko to send Eiji after her with a pair of sandals. He could only assume that Momoko either forgot to put on shoes when she rushed out of her home, or she ended up taking them off to throw at her husband. Based on everything he’s seen now, Eiji is convinced that it was the latter. Either way, now seemingly embarrassed, Momoko took the shoes from his hands. “Thank you…”
While the sandals were being put on, Takeshi took the opportunity to pull himself off the ground and rest against the counter of the kiosk. “Again. Who are you?”
“Oh! I’m Hino Eiji,” he said. “Nice to meet you.”
“Do you always butt in like this?”
“Sometimes.” He felt his cheeks heat up. Not knowing what else to do, he dismissed himself and told the couple, “Well, for now, just try and talk about this calmly. I’ll be going now.”
He turned around and began to walk back to the Cous Coussier when the undeniable sound of them continuing to aggressively argue with each other caused him to stop.
“Listen, you!”
“What is your problem?! Didn’t you hear him! Stop it!”
With a groan, Eiji rushed back and pulled Momoko off Takeshi once again. This time he was forced to actively hold her back as she kept attempting to attack her husband.
“Hang on, hang on! No fighting!” exclaimed Eiji.
“You don’t know how bad he is!” Momoko argued as she tried to get out of Eiji’s grip. “He just wanders around without getting a real job!”
At that Eiji let go of her and bowed. “I’m sorry.”
She faced him. “Why are you apologizing?!”
Lifting his head, Eiji began to answer when Takeshi cut him off.
“Enough! I’m fed up with you! I just have to pay you back, right?!” He waved a lottery ticket, which he apparently had been carrying this whole time, at Momoko. Two of the coated circles had already been scratched off. Each showed a ‘7.’ This is when Eiji had only now realized something himself. The kiosk they were standing in front of was one for the lottery. A sinking feeling made its way into his gut. “I’m gonna hit it big with this one, you’ll see!”
“What’re you babbling about?!” Momoko exclaimed and went to attack Takeshi once more, causing Eiji to grab onto her arms. “You bought that with my money anyway! And there’s no way you’re going to win!”
“You just stand there and watch! Big money! Big money! Big money! I’m gonna hit it big!” With the coin he had picked up off the counter, Takeshi placed down the lottery ticket and scratched off the last coat to reveal the number underneath… a 7. The ticket was held up high. “I did it! I got it! One million yen!”
Eiji and Momoko gasped at the announcement. However, before Eiji could properly comment, he felt a tug on his shirt. Turning around to see that the culprit was a Taka Candroid in its Animal mode, his eyebrows furrowed. Then a split second later, they raised.
“Is there a Yummy?” he asked.
The hawk screeched as if to say “yes.”
Eiji looked over his shoulder at the couple, who were still at their antics, and then back at the Candroid. A part of him wondered if those two would be okay if left alone. However, he didn’t really have a choice in the matter.
“Just give me a second.” Eiji went over to Momoko and Takeshi. Interrupting, he said, “An emergency has come up so I have to go. Please try to keep the fighting to a minimum. I’m sure you can work this out. Okay?”
Then he ran off following after the Taka Candroid. Simply leaving the couple behind.
Goto Shintaro was holding the line to the best of his abilities. At the moment, it was simply making sure the Yummy and its master stayed goaded into trying to hit him. But it was becoming increasingly annoying to commit to. The only good development was that the teenager had listened to his instructions and ran somewhere far from here. Goto didn’t know why the Yummy seemed to have been exclusively targeting the teenager in the first place. After all, the desire appeared to be just wanting to see people get hit with stuff. Though he supposed that didn’t matter anymore. All that mattered was holding the line until OOO showed up.
Meanwhile, Midoriya Izuku, the said teenager, had actually only ran as far as he needed to. That being to a hiding place which gave a good view of the fight, while still being safe and out of the way. The biker who saved him had mentioned backup coming, and he had hope this meant that there was a nonzero chance that this world’s equivalent of a Pro-Hero would come. Even if the bar might be low, this may be Izuku’s only chance at finding someone who can help him. He had been hesitant to tell anyone what was truly going on for fear of people thinking he was crazy. It could lead him to a place he couldn’t escape out of. Then there would be no chance of finding a way home or figuring out what the Masked Villain’s goals were.
Observing the biker’s actions, it appeared he had dealt with situations like this before. If there are people here who were used to dealing with villains like back at home, then maybe Izuku’s story would not sound so far-fetched. Maybe he could finally get help.
“Can you stop wasting my time, Midoriya?”
He shook his head. There was no time to dwell.
Luckily for both Goto and Izuku, backup didn’t need to run far to find them. In total only being a few blocks away, Hino Eiji came around the corner and immediately locked onto the man who appeared to be playing the world’s worst game of dodgeball.
“Goto!” he called out. The man turned to look at him only to get hit in the back. Eiji ran over to help. “Are you okay?” Goto just glared and used his head to point in the direction of his troubles. There Eiji saw a Yummy that had the appearance of a bison. “Right.”
Taking out the OOO driver, he put it to his waist. A belt appeared and wrapped around it, firmly securing the device to his body. Three Core Medals were grabbed from the nest and each inserted into a slot that was located in the front compartment, the O Slater. His hand then grabbed the scanner located at his right hip, while he tilted the slater with his left. The scanner was swiped over the Core Medals which activated their power.
Eiji held the scanner to his chest and shouted, “Henshin!”
“Taka! Tora! Batta! Ta-To-Ba, TaToBa, Ta-To-Ba~!” the belt sang as projections of various Core Medals circled around Eiji, before coming together as the combo he had chosen. It changed out his attire with OOO’s TaToBa armor.
Without wasting anytime, he attacked the Yummy head on, unaware of the two different reactions his transformation had caused from two very different people.
“Ehhh?! What kind of support gear is that?” Midoriya Izuku’s brain ran full speed ahead. He rambled aloud every thought that came to mind before finally asking, “Is this the world’s version of a Pro-Hero?!”
Meanwhile, the man holding a bucket shifted back into the form Izuku had witnessed earlier. “Oh… it’s OOO. What now…?”
Sensing its master’s feelings, the Bison Yummy shoved OOO aside. It then slammed its fists on the ground, causing all sorts of objects collected from Goto’s escapade to go toward OOO.
“Hang on a second! What’s this got to do with desire?” he questioned as he began his own game of dodgeball.
“Hit him!” a voice yelled out. Quickly looking over, OOO saw what appeared to be one of the Greeed. Compared to the others he met, this one’s whole demeanor threw him off.
“I guess there’s no point in asking…”
As the fight continued, it began to move further and further away from Midoriya Izuku’s vantage point. Feeling there was little choice, he began to discreetly follow it. Making sure to stay safely away and out of sight, while still being able to take in the details of the potential Pro-Hero. However, his initial rush of fascination quickly grew into concern as he took in the details of the armor worn.
It was primarily black, with the only color being where ornaments adorned it. Going from the bottom to the top, the legs had green decals that resembled a grasshopper’s legs. The green continued to the chest area, to the bottom of a big medal symbol, where it appeared to create the face of a grasshopper. The center color of the medal symbol was yellow with the face of some sort of cat. Given that Izuku overheard that weird support belt say “tora,” it most likely was a tiger. Yellow decals adorned the arms of the armor. The main eye-catching thing was the retracted yellow claws located at the wrist area. Continuing to go off the jingle, this meant the top of the medal was a red hawk. The red extended to the helmet and replicated the wing design around the eye lenses.
Speaking of the eyes, they were what started Izuku’s concern in the first place. The green colored lenses were all too familiar to him.
He had seen them before on the Masked Villain.
While all that was happening, Goto Shintaro had driven off on the Ridevendor. It was then parked a little ways away from the action to prevent his stuff from being affected by the Yummy again. After grabbing his gun and the cake, which had miraculously survived, Goto ran toward the sound of OOO’s battle. It appeared to be moving in the direction the vagabond had come from. However, when he got to the place he believed they moved to, Goto didn’t see OOO or the Yummy anywhere in sight.
“OOO,” he called out.
On cue, OOO fell from a ledge located above Goto and landed flat on the ground with a thud. Two figures appeared above, the Yummy and one Goto recognized as the silver Greeed.
“He fell down!” The Greeed started clapping. Still thoroughly annoyed at the events from earlier, Goto used his gun to shoot the two figures square in the chest area. The Greeed ceased his clapping and groaned. “That hurt…”
The gun was fired off again and successfully knocked them backward.
Creating the opening he needed, Goto walked to where OOO was currently sitting himself up. He looked at the box in Goto’s hand and pointed at it, asking, “Is this another present?”
“What do you mean ‘another?’ I’m not your delivery boy,” Goto retorted. He took off the top to reveal a cake with white frosting and strawberry toppings. OOO went to take it, but Goto turned away, preventing him from doing so. “I don’t know if I should even give this to you…”
Just then the Bison Yummy jumped down, prompting Hino Eiji to shove Goto out of the way.
“Look out!” He and the Yummy exchanged blows until it decided to charge him at full speed. Eiji dodged at the last second, sending the Yummy tumbling down. Eiji took this chance to check on Goto. “You okay, Goto?”
Because of the suddenness of the shove, Goto had landed face first into the cake. At being addressed, he lifted up his head to reveal his face to be absolutely covered in frosting and… there was something round?
“Listen you…” Goto started as Eiji got on the ground and crawled over close to him. The frosting was about to be wiped off with his hand when Eiji grabbed onto it.
“Hang on! Pardon me…” With his free hand Eiji carefully picked the round object off Goto’s cheek. “Is this the present?” Letting go of the hand, he wiped off the frosting to reveal… “It’s a Core Medal! Why?”
“I’d like to know that myself,” Goto said when Eiji looked at him for an answer. He cleaned off his face a little. “Why would he give you such a valuable resource…”
That’s when the Greeed and Yummy made themselves known again. The Greeed, who was coming down a set of stairs, yelled out, “I was having fun! Gonna smash both of you!”
“Either way, I should probably use this,” Eiji said. He switched out the Taka Medal for the new orangish one he acquired and swiped the scanner over the driver.
“Lion! Tora! Batta!”
The hawk helmet was exchanged with one designed after a lion and it changed the lenses from green to blue. The mane styled after the sun’s flames glowed brightly and blinded the Greeed and Yummy, preventing them from getting close.
“So bright! My eyes!” The Greeed stumbled backward and fell onto the stairs.
“Whoa, amazing!” exclaimed Eiji. He turned to Goto and bowed. “Goto, give Kougami my regards!”
OOO ran off and continued his fight, leaving Goto Shintaro behind to sulk.
“It’s to protect the world…” he told himself and then whacked the cake.
A shout. Loud footsteps. “Hold on a second! Is no one going to eat that?”
Goto watched as the teenager from earlier came out of nowhere, running and pointing at the cake.
“You’re still here?” he asked, ignoring the question. Knitting his eyebrows, Goto looked the teenager up and down. The time of day dawned on him. “Shouldn’t you be in school?”
“Oh! Uh… I, uh, overslept!” the teenager said. “Then on my way I realized I forgot my lunch, and since I was already late, I figured I could just, uh, stop by some place! But then those villains started chasing me and now here I am!” Goto just stared at him and was about to ask another question, when the teenager gasped. The yellow backpack he had was taken off and shifted through until some napkins were pulled out. Then those napkins were given to Goto. “Here.”
“Thank you…” Goto took the napkins and began to clean the frosting off.
“So, um, uh, if no one’s going to eat that cake… can I have it?” the teenager asked, scratching the back of his neck.
“Huh?”
“Can I have it?” he repeated.
After a split-second of consideration Goto told him, “Help yourself.”
“Thank you!” he beamed. An empty bento box was taken out and what was left of the cake got gathered inside it.
Goto stared at this action with scrutiny. ‘Didn’t he say he forgot his lunch?’
But then again it was empty, so who knows. Probably grabbed the wrong one in the rush out or something.
After Midoriya Izuku had the cake securely in his backpack, he looked around for a few seconds to think things over. While he could take this opportunity to explain his situation, the similarities between the potential Pro-Hero, who Izuku was sure was referred to as ‘OOO,’ and the Masked Villain were too big to ignore. Come to think of it, Izuku was sure the villain had some sort of device strapped around their waist too.
“Well, I guess I’ll be on my way. Thanks again.”
“Yeah, yeah.” The biker who he overheard being called the name ‘Goto,’ waved him off.
Izuku began to leave when the words Goto had said earlier rung in his ears. It was something he had personally resonated with and so Izuku stopped to tell him one last thing. “Oh, and about ‘saving the world’… I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but whatever it is and from what I’ve seen, I know you can do it!”
Then he ran off. Too embarrassed to witness Goto’s response.
At the same time, Hino Eiji found himself back at the area where the lottery kiosk was. Only this time there was a great lack of people as the majority had fled upon seeing the fight.
The Bison Yummy slammed its fists on the ground again, activating the gravity pull. A nearby car and van screeched toward him. In response, he took out his sword and slashed them in half. The vehicles exploded, temporarily blinding him. When Eiji could see again, he found that both the Greeed and Yummy had disappeared.
“Did they get away?” he asked himself and put the sword away.
Two familiar voices yelled out.
“Leave me alone!” said the masculine one.
“You idiot!” said the feminine one.
Eiji looked over in the source’s direction to see that Takeshi and Momoko were in the exact same state and place he had left them in.
“What the hell is the problem now?! This is a million yen ticket! One million!”
“Who cares! Is that all you care about?! Takeshi, you used to be… But now you’re so pathetic it makes me cry!”
Momoko began beating at his shoulders, causing him to try and hold her back.
Eiji could only watch in disbelief. “Eh? They’re still at it?”
At an abandoned dockside, a villain, similar to the one Izuku saw that day, threw a disembodied arm at a railing. The arm grabbed onto it and desperately tried to pull himself up.
“What’s the matter Ankh? Come on!” the villain teased.
‘Ankh’ made a break for it by taking off into the sky, only to be swiftly slashed down by the villain. The attack caused various medals, mainly silver, to fly out of his hand as he caught onto a green fishing net that was hung up on a pillar.
Among the silver stood out a flash of yellow and green.
“Core Medals!” Jumping up he caught them and landed safely on the ground. “I got them!” he exclaimed looking at the two medals in his right hand. He gripped them tightly. “Ankh! Stop holding out and cough them all–” The villain turned around only to see that the disembodied arm had completely disappeared. “What!?”
“Uva!” he heard Ankh shout. “You really should do something about that block-headed single mindedness of yours!”
“You little bastard! You flung those medals out on purpose!” the villain, Uva, shouted back.
“Give my regards to Kazari, won’t you? Bye now!”
“Wait, Ankh!” However, Uva quickly realized it would be pointless to argue, and started super jumping his way back to the hideout he shared with the others.
Unbeknownst to Uva, Ankh had been talking to him through a Batta Candroid. It self-deactivated from Animal Mode and returned to its Can Mode. With the coast clear, Ankh crawled out of his hiding spot, with a second Batta Candroid in hand, having reattached himself to the human he had been inhabiting before the confrontation.
“Somehow got out of that one.” He propped himself up against the railing. All the hits Uva dealt earlier to the body of Izumi Shingo really did a number on it, meaning he was now forced to feel pain with every movement.
Left alone, all Ankh could do was wait until it subsided.
