hey so let’s all think about the very important context in why he woulda said this! the early 2000s, being from a notorious homophobic country, & being in a notoriously homophobic sport. i know it’s not ideal & not nice nor fun to think on, but this was probably very normalized for rozanov to be hearing at the time (and unfortunately still now as well). also factoring in that he didn’t know much english, but would pick up on the few words that would help him fit in the quickest with english speaking players he’d be around frequently.

In the light of recent events, I would just like to say that I am deeply apologetic for words I have used in the past. I am sorry if they have caused any of my fans and supporters any form of harm, distress, or offense. I was young when I spoke these words and didn’t fully comprehend nor understand the implications behind them. Again I feel deeply apologetic and am ashamed of my younger self. I will be donating over $500k to @TrevorProject and I encourage everyone else to as well.
