Chapter Text
After another day behind the counter of the cd shop, Mitski clocks out when her uncle Joe comes back from running some errands. she takes the plastic bags to the kitchen while Joe closes the shutters and follows right behind her. She starts on the rice and sets the table as Joe chops up vegetables and fries pork cutlets. After a few minutes the kitchen is filled with the smell of frying meat and for the first time that day Mitsuki's mind was on something other than Oosawa. "Smells good doesn't it?" Joe asks turning halfway to mitsuki. "Uncle..." Joe looks at his niece, struck by her serious tone "Whats up Mitsuki? Are you not hungry or something? " Mitsuki has an expression her uncle isn't very familiar with. An expression that radiates a mix of confusion and embarrasment.
Joe gestures Mitsuki to sit and puts the already sliced cutlets in front of her. "Tell me. Whats on your mind?" She opens and closes her mouth then takes a deep breath. "At prom... something happened" Mitsuki looked Away. "Did you fight with miss Oosawa? Because we talked about this before. when you want to make up with someone you need to apolo-" Mitsuki cut him off "No we didn't fight. its just... When I showed up, she was kinda surprised and she ran away then We were alone at the broadcast room and I knew I liked her like alot... am I rambling?" Joe just filled a glass with water and slid it to her. Joe thought "Kanna would be a hundred precent better for this situation" Mitsuki took a sip to cool down her nerves. İt did not work. "Anyway we were looking at the cds and talking. Then we... kissed." Joe choked on his spit. He did not expect that.
After a few moments of him choughing he took a deep breath "Okay well how are you guys now?" Mitsuki sighed "Well there was an awkward atmosphere but we resolved that pretty quickly. But now I don't know the next step." A warm smile spread across Joe's face. He remenecent about the time he and Kanna became more than just friends. "You don't need a certain "next step" Mitsuki. You can talk to eachother and figure it out. There is no reason to rush anything." Mitsuki felt a relief in her uncles unjudgemental advice. "Thank you uncle" "Now eat. your food is getting cold." Mitsuki starts to eat. Forgetting to eat all day catches up to her and she heartily finishes her meal.
