My friend makes me feel all weird lately, and I don't understand why.
I (22M) met this friend (19M), let's call him A, about six months ago. I'm usually awkward with younger people, because I grew up as the youngest of my family and was always surrounded by older friends, but me and A hit it off pretty quickly and smoothly. We always joke around and I honestly feel really comfortable with him, not at all awkward, even when we just chill next to each other. I feel like I can open up to him really easily and he always listens and gives me advice or encourages me whenever I need help. He buys me drinks all the time, touches me a lot, calls me cute and babies me even though I'm the older one, and the problem is.. lately I started feeling weird, I guess, when he does these things. To top it off, he's a naturally clingy person and always surrounded by people, he's kind of like the resident cutie? of our friend group, and when I see him do cute stuff or similar things with the rest of our group, I become all bitter and want to escape the room ASAP 🫠
All I want to do is be a good 'older brother' to him he can rely on and look up to, but my feelings are bothering me and making this difficult
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? 🥺

[UPDATE] After a week of considering it, I think you were all right. How should I proceed?
Hi Reddit, I am the guy (22M) who kept having "weird" feelings towards his friend A (19M). You can read the whole thing here. (I improved a lot in Reddit usage, right? ☺️) I read through all of your comments and sat on them for a while, but in the end I think you guys might be right and I have feelings for A..
Lately, A has been acting pretty strange? It feels like he toned down the clinginess with others and upped it with me. He has also became very straightforward (he always was, these days it's just much more obvious), and keeps complimenting me on every little thing. Not going to lie, it is satisfying, but it's also giving me false hopes that he might like me back 🥺
I thought it through, and I think a relationship with him might be pretty nice.. He is handsome, cute, funny & understanding.. The past week I tried being a bit more upfront with him and reciprocate the touching and compliments, but I'm not sure how effective it was. I didn't really flirt with him outright, because I tend to do that with everyone to break the initial awkward and ice stage of friendships, and I don't want him to misunderstand. I don't really allow others to touch me or I don't cling to people, either, unless I love them, though, so that might count for something.
My question this time is: does anyone have any more ideas on what I could do? I haven't really actively pursued anyone before, so this is new to me.. 😞

Me and my boyfriend (!!) were posting about each other on Reddit before getting together.
Hii, some people might know me from my posts weeks ago about being confused about my feelings towards my now-boyfriend and getting advice on how to pursue him. Without knowing, he was posting about me at the same time about how he should he get me to stop viewing him as a baby and being happy when I asked him on a date.
Update for anyone who wanted to know (u/Wokejoshi-4-Life and some others who have reached out to me through DMs!! Thank you for your well wishes and interest in us, hehe 🖤): the date was perfect!! We just hang out in my favourite café, then walked around the city while talking. Basically the next day, we became boyfriends without hesitation. He was the one who asked me, for those who are curious ☺️ And yes, we kissed. A real kiss, this time.
My "weird" and "uncomfortable" feelings are all gone, by the way!! 😌 All that's left is flutters whenever he spoils me and when I look at him smile 🥺
And no, I do not flirt with anyone else now. He is way less clingy with people, too. And no kisses for anyone else, only me 🙏🏻
Thank you to everyone for your help in getting us together 🥺 It wouldn't be the same without you!! We are still early on in the relationship and have a lot of time left to go, but I trust that everything will go well ❤️ I haven't been this happy in a long time
