Hao's ruined his relationship with Hanbin. Or so he thinks, until they set off on an impromptu road trip, and everything unravels.

It’s gentle and chaste—a press of plush lips against plush lips, a hesitant caress. It’s nothing, and everything at once. Ricky’s fingers run across Gyuvin’s face, thumb gliding on his cheekbones from the wetness gathered there. He can’t tell if Gyuvin’s crying, or if it’s just the snow turning into liquid on his skin, but Ricky doesn’t dare look. He squeezes his eyes shut, as tight as he can, engraving this moment into the folds of his brain, focusing solely on the boy in his arms, whose breaths form the rhythm of Ricky’s heart.
Ricky and Gyuvin seem to always be running out of time, though that's never stopped them from loving.

Love doesn’t come quite as naturally to Hao as it does to Hanbin, he supposes, but when he looks at the boy lying beside him, eyes filled with care, empathy practically exuding out of him, he feels so much in his heart threatening to burst that he, without mistake, can confidently call this feeling love.
Hanbin teaches Hao about love.

Summary
Hanbin considers the boy for what he is – a mere stranger. A blank canvas not stained by knowledge or unnecessary details. A blank canvas that tempts him to lay his grubby fingers across its surface with no fear of consequence. Logic will tell him otherwise. But today, Hanbin chooses not to be led by logic but by the tantalising smile that dangles just beyond his reach. He wants to snatch it and make it his own.
Hanbin is revived by the the breath of life gifted to him upon Hao's arrival.

Because the funny thing is this: there was a time when they were just best friends, and it was easier to love each other then. And then they were something more, something greater, something so terrifying to the both of them that they’d rather be barren than confront it.
(Or: Realising you're in love with your best friend is scary enough to make you run across the country on a spontaneous roadtrip. At least, Hanbin thinks so.)

"I always think the world is going to end," Zhang Hao comments. "Like, actually end. I've been through more apocalypses than I can count but the plane just spits us back out like normal afterwards. Surely one of those apocalypses has to be real. Eventually."
Hanbin kicks his squashed can away, watching it ricochet across the wall before it skids to a stop on the tiles. "Says who?"
"What, you think this can go on forever? With no end in sight?"
Hanbin shrugs. "I don't see why not. It's not like we have a rule book here."
Hanbin isn't quite as old as the universe itself, but he's getting there.

To Zhang Hao, Sung Hanbin is an enigma. He doesn't understand him and no matter how many times he tells himself he doesn’t want to know him, he still finds himself drawn into Hanbin and his orbit.
Then they get nominated as a couple for their university's "Best Campus Couple” contest and Hao is absolutely baffled. They aren’t dating for one, and for all Hao knew, Hanbin didn’t even like him with the way the man was so viscerally rude to him every time he saw him. But maybe this contest is just the perfect opportunity he needs to understand the magnetic pull that Sung Hanbin has on him.
