Work Text:

Suho stumbled through the club, bile rising at the back of his throat. He tumbled through the bathroom door, barely making it into a stall before he dropped to his knees and exhaled everything that was in his stomach. The nice lunch Sieun had made him earlier that day.

He wiped his mouth, laying on the floor next to the toilet and trying to get the world to stop spinning.

Sieun’s words from earlier echoed in his head.

“The doctors mentioned a lower tolerance to alcohol, and a higher chance of side effects. Please don’t drink too much baby.”

To be fair, Suho hadn’t drank much. But he was right, his tolerance was much lower than it was before. Before his accident. Before everything got fucked up. Before he was broken.

Everything came back to that, right? His coma, his accident, Beom-

Okay. This wasn’t working.

He came to have fun and forget his stresses for one night. One more drink wouldn’t hurt.

He got up, bracing himself on the wall before he flushed and walked out of the stall. He briefly made eye contact with another guy before heading to wash his hands at the sink.

As he did, he noticed the guy was staring at him. He had no patience to be stealthy as he sighed and fully turned his body to make the guy aware he noticed the staring.

The guy was leaning against the wall, cigarette in hand as he smoked. The smoke reached Suho and he coughed.

Unexpectedly, the other guy didn’t back off. In fact, he held eye contact and laughed when Suho coughed.

Suho rolled his eyes. “Do that outside.”

The guy smirked as he took another drag and slowly walked towards Suho, leaning in a little and blowing the smoke in his face before he could even realise what was happening.

Suho’s eyes widened and he coughed again, stepping away.

“What the fuck?”

The guy laughed, finding the situation genuinely funny and he pushed his glasses up.

“I wanted to see your pretty face all scrunched up.” He said, reaching out for Suho’s jaw. “Adorable.”

Suho immediately pushed him away and stepped back. Even in his drunk state, he thought of Sieun. He didn’t want this random guy to touch him, especially like that. Only Sieun can do that.

“No, I’m not- Don’t touch me.” He hissed.

The guy’s eyebrow raised.

“You’re not what?”

“Interested. I have a boyfriend.”

The guy paused but didn’t step back.

“And where is he?” He questioned.

Suho froze as he studied the situation. If this guy didn’t back off, he would have to fight him. Was he strong enough for that? He had recovered most of his muscle strength but still, he was vulnerable.

“Just fuck off.” He spat, stepping back again.

Good. Make some distance.

Much to his surprise, the guy stepped back as well.

“Alright. I believe you.” He said, putting his hands up.

Suho looked him up and down, still skeptical.

“Relax. You already said no. I heard you.” The guy turned, leaning against the sink. “You look like shit. Want a smoke?”

Suho’s shoulders fell as he let his guard down. “You just called me pretty, now you’re saying I look like shit?” He scoffed.

The guy rolled his eyes. “You are pretty. I just mean your aura. You look like you feel like shit.”

Suho froze.

“I do.” He admitted, quiet.

The guy hummed. “Drinking is supposed to make you feel better.”

Suho sighed. “It’s not working.”

He didn’t know why he was even saying this. Maybe it was the drinks. Maybe it was his exhaustion. Maybe it was the chance to finally express his frustrations to someone who wouldn’t fuss over him and treat him like glass.

The guy looked him over for a minute before he turned to stub his cigarette out on the sink.

“Want something else?”

Suho paused, then answered before he even thought about the answer.

“Like what?”

The guy smirked before he spoke.

“Weed. Makes you feel really good. It’ll take your mind off whatever is wrong with you.”

Suho shook his head and opened his mouth to refuse but nothing came out because a thought went through his head.

That… doesn’t sound too bad.

Okay, okay, okay. Yes it does. But.

Just a try.

Wouldn’t hurt.

Right?

He nodded before he could regret his decision. “Okay. Yeah.”

The guy smirked and walked towards the bathroom door, turning back to check if Suho was following.

Suho blinked and realised as he turned to follow him.

The guy weaved through the crowd as Suho paused, looking around for Baku and Gotak. He couldn’t see them, the bodies around him all blurred as he tried to focus his eyes.

He felt a bump on his elbow.

“You still following?” The guy questioned.

“Yeah, I’m just looking for my friends-“

“Well. I want to smoke so you can either follow me now or not.” He said, turning away and already leaving.

Suho scrambled to follow him, already trying to justify this in his head, rehearsing what he would tell Baku and Gotak later. He just took a long time in the bathroom. Yeah.

He followed the guy down a corridor guarded by another man, who let them both through without a word as soon as he saw the guy’s face.

The noise of the club got quieter as they walked.

“What’s your name?” Suho questioned now that he could hear his own thoughts and think properly.

“Geum Seongje.” The guy muttered, opening a door to a room that had a few couches and a table in the middle of them.

“Ahn Suho.” Suho replied, sitting down on the sofa.

The guy- Seongje - paused and an expression came over his face as he stared at Suho. He sat down on the sofa opposite him, tilting his head.

“What?” Suho questioned, meeting his stare.

Seongje narrowed his eyes before shrugging. “Nothing. You just look familiar.”

Suho shifted uncomfortably before Seongje got up and checked in a small compartment of a cupboard. “You ever smoked weed before?”

“No.”

Seongje seemed to find what he was looking for and turned around, smirking. “Fun.”

He pulled out a pre-rolled joint and lit it, taking a drag before offering it to Suho.

Suho looked at it and then back at him, unsure what to do.

Seongje genuinely laughed.

“Have you ever smoked anything before?”

Suho shook his head.

“I can’t tell if you’re brave or really fucking stupid.” Seongje said, shaking his head. “Here.” he said, handing the joint to him.

Once Suho was holding it, he guided it to his mouth.

“Breath in. It’ll feel weird in your chest but just don’t panic and fully commit.”

Suho took a shaky breath before he held the joint fully to his mouth and breathed in. Despite Seongje’s warning, the feeling in his chest shocked him and he immediately let it all out, coughing.

“Dude-“ Seongje started, the sentence dying as he laughed.

Suho waved him away and tried again, the sensation feeling less unfamiliar this time. He managed to breathe in and keep the smoke in his lungs long enough to exhale slowly back through his mouth.

“Good job.” Seongje praised.

Suho was silent for a minute before he turned to him.

“I don’t feel anything.”

“You will.”

“Let me try again.”

Seongje’s eyebrow raised. “You’re sure?”

“Yes.” Suho huffed, annoyed.

Seongje shrugged, sliding away to lean against the arm of the couch.

Suho took 4 more hits before he suddenly felt it. He froze as he suddenly felt lightheaded, like he was floating while being fully aware he was still sat on the sofa.

Or was he? Maybe he was actually floating.

Seongje’s laugh pulled him a little out of it as he snatched the joint out of his hands.

“Enough for you.” He muttered.

Suddenly, Suho laughed loudly enough to make even Seongje flinch.

“Yeah.” He said between chuckles. “I think so.”

“...Okay. Yeah.” Seongje nodded, side eyeing Suho.

Suho got up abruptly and the world started spinning as he tried to walk around the room.

“What the hell are you doing?” Seongje questioned, head hanging off the side of the couch as he leaned back on it. He had taken his glasses off and he was running his hands through his hair.

“I feel funny. It’s funny when I walk.” Suho tried to explain, turning around.

Seongje hummed in response.

Suho laughed to himself. He walked in circles, enjoying the dizzying sensation as he focused on the feeling of his legs. They were walking. They worked.

“At least you feel better.” Seongje said as his eyes trailed Suho still walking in circles.

“Yeah-“ Suho started before his eyes widened as he plopped down onto the sofa. He had no concept of direction as the world spun even as he closed his eyes and tried to breathe.

“I can’t breathe.”

“You can.”

“I can’t.”

“Just do it. You can.” Seongje muttered again.

Suho tried and tried until he managed to take a deep breath. “Oh. I can.”

A loud noise startled Suho as he shot up, slightly softening once he realised it was just Seongje’s phone.

The other groaned before he answered the phone and got up, talking under his breath.

“Yeah- No he didn’t.” A sigh. “That fucker.” He hung up and sighed. “I gotta go.” He said, grabbing his glasses.

He reached into Suho’s pocket and tried to open his phone, turning it around to unlock it with Suho’s face before Suho had even realised what was happening.

“Here’s my number. Call me if you want this again. Next time won’t be free though.” He said, chucking the phone back at Suho and heading for the door.

“Wait-“ Suho said, following him with his eyes.

“You’ll be fine. Sit in here for as long as you want, no one will bother you.” He checked his watch.

“Well, in a few hours, you do have to get the fuck out. But just sit, then call your boyfriend or something.”

Seongje left the room, leaving Suho in the silence. He laid back down as the room started spinning, no longer having another person to focus on. He closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep, although not completely. He sat for a while, half asleep until a while later when he reached for his phone and tapped the screen on, flinching when the bright screen came on.

He willed his eyes to focus but he couldn’t read anything, all he could see was multiple notifications on the lockscreen. He unlocked his phone and unconsciously went to his most recent calls, pressing the first one.

The first few rings went through until he heard a click.

“Hello?”

Sieun.

Yeon Sieun. His Sieun.

“Sieun-ah!” he yelled, shooting up.

“Suho? What-“ the sleepy voice paused as the call went quiet for a second. “It’s 2am. Are you okay?”

Suho gasped. “It’s what?? Sieunie, stop being silly.” He giggled.

The call went quiet again.

“Suho.” Sieun’s voice came sharper, more alert. “Where are you?”

Suho looked around, eyes unfocused as he tried to recognise.

“On. The sofa.” He managed to get out.

“At Baku’s?” Sieun questioned.

Suho looked around again.

“Uhhhh. Nooooo. I don’t…think so?” he answered, laughing.

“What?” Sieun’s voice came through, slightly panicked. “Did you not go home with them from the club?”

Suho gasped again as he remembered.

“The club! I’m there. I’m here. On the couch. In a room. I remember!” He exclaimed, smiling proudly at himself.

Good job, Suho!

He heard the shuffling of bedsheets on the other side of the call and heard Sieun mumble.

“Sieunie?”

When Sieun didn’t answer, he got sad.

“Yeon Sieun? Sieun-ah? Love of my life?”

He heard a small noise and the sound of keys.

“I’m gonna come get you, Suho. Just wait for me, alright? I need to drive so I’m gonna end the call but I know exactly where you are so don’t leave. I’m coming.”

“Mmmkay. Love you.” Suho pouted as he ended the call.

Wait. Suho had never seen Sieun in this room. He didn’t know where he was.

He needed to get out of here so Sieun could find him.

He stood up, head immediately as dizzy as earlier as the floaty feeling came back. He laughed but stopped himself.

Focus on the mission, Suho. Find Sieun.

He headed for the door and fumbled with the handle before eventually opening it, nearly falling as he didn’t realise he was leaning on it. He slightly leant on the wall as he made his way down the hallway, eventually seeing the back of the mysterious man from earlier.

He went up to him and stood behind him before giggling. The man turned around and eyed him suspiciously.

Seeing his serious expression, Suho stopped giggling, his smile dropping.

“Sorry. Thank you, Sir!” He said, saluting. The man didn’t say anything, still eyeing him.

“Bye!” He waved, heading for the general direction of the exit of the club.

Sadly, it seemed more packed than earlier and he struggled to make his way through the crowd. He eventually managed to get there, trying to push the door open. He struggled and groaned as he tried his hardest until he heard a laugh from behind him as a couple walked around him and pulled the door, opening it.

“Ohhhh! Thank you.” He said, bowing. He let them go first and followed, the fresh air making him a tiny bit less lightheaded.

He looked around for a bit.

Okay, now to find the way home.

He nearly decided on a direction until he heard a familiar voice coming from behind him.

“Suho!”

He turned around. As soon as Suho saw him, his vision cleared and he smiled. Even panting, with his forehead slick with sweat and his bangs sticking to it, Sieun looked so beautiful.

Sieun ran to him and as soon as he could, Suho wrapped around him tightly, not letting go.

“Suho-“ Sieun struggled, trying to shake him off gently.

“Hi, my love. I missed you.” Suho confessed, still hugging Sieun as if he never intended to let him go.

Sieun waited for him as they stood there for a few minutes, until he could pull back a little to inspect him. Suho pulled back with a pout on his face.

“You didn’t hug back.” He sniffled.

Sieun was busy looking him over, he grabbed both sides of Suho’s face to look him over.

“What have you done? Suho, are you-“ Sieun stared at his eyes. “Are you high?” he questioned.

Suho bit down on his lower lip as he felt tears fill his eyes. “Are you mad at me?”

Sieun’s eyes darted between his, struggling with trying to comfort Suho and be serious with him.

Suho’s hands came to his waist as he tried to pull him in again. “Please don’t be mad.” he pleaded, dropping his head into Sieun’s chest.

Sieun’s hand dropped to his waist and Suho took this opportunity to hug him again.

“I love you. I love you so much-“ Suho mumbled into his shoulder.

Sieun’s arms hugged him back, trying to stabilise them as Suho was swaying.

“Let’s go.” Sieun said, trying to get Suho off him so he could walk.

“Say you love me.” Suho’s voice came, his feet refusing to move.

Sieun pulled him a little, but the other boy was seemingly not moving an inch until he got what he wanted.

“Of course I love you, Suho-yah.” Sieun whispered softly.

Suho smiled as he pulled back, just enough to let Sieun lead them back to his car.

Suho giggled to himself before turning to Sieun.

“I have to tell you something.” He said, poking him.

Sieun immediately froze, giving him his full attention. Fear flashed through his eyes as his expression dropped.

“What?”

…..

“You’re so pretty.”

Sieun look at him in disbelief as the tension left his face. He rolled his eyes.

“Let’s just go.” he said softly, trying to hide his smile.

“But you are!” Suho whined as he was pulled along.
