Tai is asleep on Rejoice's lap.
His stupid pretty face is so unguarded and vulnerable like this. Jaw relaxed and eyelashes fanned over his cheeks and short black hair tanged with his golden earrings. He's been lying here for a while, since the two of them finally sat down after a long, long day of the most boring grinding ever. Not even any fighting, just working on stuff while taking occasional mandatory breaks because Rejoice was ready to scream numerous times with how tedious it all was. Hours and hours of… ugh. At least he got some fun conversations out of Tai during his regular distractions, but eventually, every time, Tai would lock back in and try to ignore him again. As if he could.
But now he's finally stopped moving. He's asleep.
He's warm and heavy and—
And it would be so easy to just crush him like this. Crit him out with an axe, slit his throat with a sword, maybe even suffocate him with a pillow before he could get himself coordinated enough to push Rejoice off. Anything to watch him squirm and listen to him scream. Anything to get one over on him.
Rejoice touches Tai's cheek. Tai turns away from the contact and Rejoice frowns. He leans down and kisses Tai, just a quick touch of their lips, just to watch Tai's own mouth twitch slightly.
Rejoice sighs and leans back. The movement isn't enough to wake up Tai, but it has him letting out a soft noise and moving one of his hands up to grasp feebly at Rejoice's coat.
If he knew what he was doing, he'd lose it, Rejoice is sure. He'd deny and deny that he was being so adorable. It's really a shame, because he's so fucking cute. Rejoice can't not annoy him, can't stop poking his buttons and doing everything he can to make sure Tai is focused on him.
Part of him wants to keep Tai like this as long as he can.
A larger part is annoyed at how his legs feel like they're halfway to falling asleep.
