Work Text:

I'm so in trouble, Fox!

“Look, Fox, I know I’m not a clone and all that, part of the hood and all…”

“Part of the hood?”

“Ya know, the brotherhood of clones and all that jazz.”

“Clearly, you are not. I would assume you know that you are a Jedi?”

“Hehe, very funny Fox!”

“Is it though? It was certainly not intended as humour.”

“Well, anyway. So, I know you are great with solutions and all… So I have a problem…”

“Why have you come to me? Don’t you have your own Captain to talk to? Someone else, a Jedi perhaps?”

“I do. But it’s about him, the Captain I mean and well, can’t really go to him with this either now can I.”

“Guess you can’t, even though I have no idea what your problem is supposed to be.”

Fox sighed, heavily so. Theatrically even. Trying to convey Skywalker he wasn’t really as all as that interested in hearing his small problems in all the mess of the galaxy. Not to mention helping him out. Let the Jedi sort their own problems having always been the motto for Fox. Well, sort of. They were in war, fighting side by side. But the more personal natured problems.

“So, here is my problem.” Anakin went all silent.

Fox stared at him, wanting him to go away with his issues. And as uninterested as ever Fox was too. Alas, this is a Jedi, one of their bosses he was, so, guess Fox really had to try to help him even if he did not want to. At all.

“From what I have seen, there’s always some problem or another with you lot. So how is this any different this time around. I mean you always have problems. And again, why come to me? Surely, the other Jedi would be more quailed to help you out or then, perhaps try to solve it yourself.?”

“Yes, well, this is a kind of a delicate situation and yeah… not the sort the Jedi really want to wash out there, in the open or anywhere really. So, you’re a clone, he’s a clone, so that’s why I came to you. You and him are friends, right?”

“Not all clones are friendly with one and other.”

“Oh.”

“No.”

“So, okay… here’s the deal.” Again, Anakin goes silent, but he isn’t fazed by Fox’s obvious non-interest either rather babbling on and on about his situation.

“General, I am a very busy man here, so would you please… hurry the hell up!”

“I… yeah, sorry. Heh.” The nervous laugh present there.

Fox, sighing louder and rolling his eyes impossibly fast and loudly too if even possible. It worked this time as Anakin’s glance at him made the all high and mighty Jedi to swallow audibly and then, he started his tale….

“You see, I kinda have a crush on Rex… And I was thinking… maybe you’d have some pointers as to how to move about it?”

Fox could only glare at Anakin. As this was a huge shock to hear. Well, not really, but yeah, shocking! Anakin though, not the first Jedi to fall for their very own clone, figuratively speaking but of course. But still, Rex! Of all, people it was Captain fucking Rex!

“Why, would I, have any kind of, pointers, when it comes to the, Clone Jedi relations?”

“Well, not those, but relations to clones in general. I mean, you’ve got someone or someones there right?”

Fox could only glare at Anakin again. Then, slowly but surely, getting up. Walking to the Caf-maker, pouring a large mug of caf for himself. Fox, downing it in one go, hot or not. Then pouring another before walking back to his seat opposite of the Jedi General.

“Fine. I will tell you what to do.”

“You will???” Wide eyed and greatly surprised Anakin could only await for the instructions.

“Of course.”

“Good, gimme!”

“Tell Rex, how you feel.”

“That’s it?”

“That usually works.”

“If it doesn’t?”

“Well, then… General…” Fox leaning back in his seat, rather casually at that. “Guess you just have to… kill him.” Fox’s smirk being priceless as he said it, his advice that is, sitting there, all relaxed and sipping from his caf contently.

After all, ask a stupid question, get an even more absurd response in return!

“Caf, General?” Fox then casually offered to the wide eyed even more confused looking General Anakin Skywalker
