A decent TV series starring many new faces in the acting industry! It’s refreshing to see the collaboration of a group of young actors and actresses on screen. Though their acting can be mediocre at times, the production team did a good job finding suitable candidates to fill the role of aspiring musicians.
Gotou Hitori, well-known female guitarist that blew up on YouTube before she began to play in a band with her classmates back in high school! I’ve been to a few of her live concerts before, and I was quite impressed by her guitar skills and stage presence. Although it’s rumoured that she has severe social anxiety, she’s able to exude a demanding sense of charm that attracts her audience’s attention. This made her perfect for the leading role of this series! It’s very pleasing to see her acting career take off on such a positive note.
The same goes for Yagi Shizusumi, Syh’s drummer. It’s surprising to see a person that’s normally so stoic act so lively onscreen. During Syh’s performances and interviews, Yagi is always hyperfocused. But here, he was able to play his fuckboy character surprisingly well. Hm, it must be due to his looks, haha! Or perhaps he’s a fuckboy privately offscreen too? Well, either way, Yagi’s performance here shows us that he has great potential in playing a diverse range of characters in future works.
With all that said though, it was an absolute TREAT to be blessed with the musical collaboration of these amazing artists! The more experienced Shiraya Tamaki on bass paired with Shizusumi’s drums and Gotou’s guitar was absolute heaven. As a bassist myself, I aspire to be able to play as steadily and emotionally as Shiraya-san. I am humbly requesting private lessons, plsplsplpspls. *bow*
Anyway, excellent work! Would recommend harder if only the story and characters had been more properly fleshed out.

jdky867: So glad someone’s shining the light on the young actors and actresses! I’ve listened to Gotou’s band for years as well and I’m very excited to see how her acting career will go alongside her music career!
Daaimanji: Personally I think the story and characters were well written too. All the characters matured throughout the season and will likely continue to grow as the series goes on.
