Summary
A branch snaps in a misstep, black and white sneakers pounding on the ground to replace the deathly silence that ensues during this particular time of year.
Heavy panting, with panicked jerky movements that threatens to drag him down. A hard swallow that sticks to dry throat and forces him to suddenly change course.
