Chapter Text
September 30th, 1998.
When Leon thinks of that night, it's usually accompanied with thoughts of helplessness. Deception. Death. It was a night he would never forget.
A rising rookie at the top of a police academy, he was driving to the Raccoon City Police Department to receive his first assignment, only for him to be thwarted by a night straight out of hell.
The dead rose. Blind abominations destroyed the city, eventually forcing the military to play their hand in the form of a nuclear bomb. Thousands of people died that day, all thanks to the bioweapons created by the international "pharmecutial" company: Umbrella.
He had made it out by the skin of his teeth thanks to the determination of a survivor just like him and deception from someone he once thought of as a comrade. So many others didn't. It weighed on his soul, a sense of looming dread that he would never escape.
Later, he had been "asked" to join a top-secret government program. A hush order that wasn't in the form of a .45 to the skull.
The training was punishing, the stakes were high, even for him. But he found it soothing. Something that kept his mind off of everything.
Now it was 2004. Leon was an established operative, and he was being sent to Spain. A meteor landed there a few months ago, and the government quickly handled the situation saying that it was just debris. Satellite imaging said otherwise. It was vague, but apparently a small spacecraft had crashed in a rural village. Inquiries from ambassadors always ended up in missing person reports, scattered around the area. Leon, along with many others, were sent to find them.
If he could just forget what happened that night, the pain, the people he couldn't save, even for a second-
No. This time, it could be different.
It has to.
Leon didn't know what he would do if it didn't.
