Chapter Text

Lestat's heart sank as the curtain fell. The exhilaration of the concert started to die away and he began to tremble. Maybe he could get high enough to drown it all out. He didn't want to remember even a moment with his manager.

He flinched as his shoulders were grabbed with long, thin, spidery, white fingers. His lower lip slightly trembled at the corner.

“Wonderful, wolfkiller. Well done. The stage has always fit you.” Magnus whispered against the shell of his ear. Only Magnus remembered this old nickname Lestat had left behind with his humanity when he made this record deal.

“I need to piss.” Lestat muttered.

“First, I need you to meet a few people you'll be entertaining tonight.” Magnus spun Lestat around but Lestat tried to make his feet lead.

“Magnus, I'm exhausted. This is the fifth concert in a row. Can't I have the night off?” Lestat asked, the trembling working its way to his limbs.

Magnus steered him, ignoring him entirely until he made it to a group at the base of the VIP stairs of the club.

“This is the owner of the club, Louis du Point du Lac.” Magnus introduced. Lestat's heart skipped a beat at the name. It was so unique, there was no way it wasn't who he thought it was. His thoughts were confirmed when Lestat's blue eyes met the green he had been missing for the past sixty years. The man's smile made Lestat's knees weak in a new way.

“We've met before.” Louis said, offering his hand. Lestat took it without looking away from those beautiful eyes. He wasn't sure he would ever see those eyes again.

“Oh, you have?” Magnus asked.

“Uh, yeah. Back when the band was still called Wolfkiller.” Lestat muttered.

“A fellow Wolfkiller fan!” Magnus laughed loudly and shook Lestat playfully by the shoulders.

“Will you both be joining me in my private lounge?” Louis asked hopefully.

“Lestat has some fans to meet first then we most definitely will meet you there.” Magnus promised as Louis slowly slid his hand out of Lestat's grasp.

“I'll see you then.” Louis watched as Lestat was steered away again, watching until they turned the corner down the hall.

Once they were far enough down the hallway, Magnus slid his hands down Lestats sweat slick sides to grip his thin hips and slam him against a wall.

“Youre supposed to disclose past lovers or boyfriends or girlfriends or fiancé or fuck buddies to me! All of them! Especially alphas!” Magnus hissed in his ear. Lestat started to tremble again, “I'm your alpha.”

“Our relationship was short and meant nothing!” Lestat whispered, flinching when Magnus hissed again.

“I could see your face, HIS face, i cpuld hear your hearts syncing! It didn't mean nothing! You're supposed to be seducing Akasha.” Magnus pressed his body to Lestats, crushing him against the wall.

“I know! I am!” Lestat cried out.

“Be quiet!” Magnus continued to hiss his words.

“Yes sir… I am seducing Akasha. Louis won't affect that. “ Lestat promised.

“Better not. Let's go get her. She is invited to the lounge as well.” Magnus said, finally calm. He let Lestat go and walked away, expecting Lestat to follow.

Akasha was elated to see Lestat but she had others to attend to at the time. She kissed his cheek when her husband wasn't looking and sent him away making Lestat feel vile.

She was cheating on her husband with him and he was being ‘paid’ to keep that charade up. She was a donor to Magnus’ record label so he wanted her attached to Lestat’s hip. His pretty smile and other endowments kept her money flowing into Magnus’ pockets, despite how risky it was for Lestat to be with a beta. It reminded Lestat of the theater and the patrons he would service, playing Lelio on and off the wooden planks.

When Lestat was sent away, he tried not to be excited to see Louis, he shouldn't be excited, he and their daughter had kicked Lestat out of the house seventy seven years ago. He couldn't help his heart rate accelerating as he started to hear Louis' voice. He had deserved what Louis and Claudia had done to him. He didn't even want to think of what he had done to Louis, and he would rather cut his hand off than remember what he did to Claudia.

All of his fear of rejection and all of his pain of the last seventy seven years, of all the drunken and high nights, all that he tried to forget, it all flooded back as he looked Louis over, and it all washed away as Louis crossed the room and hugged him so tightly. He breathed in his familiar scent and repressed a moan. He had missed that scent so much and he had to shift his hips, his pants already much too tight.

“Im sorry I wasn't there until the end when Claudia became sick.” Lestat whispered.

“You didn't know until then. You had no way of knowing.” Louis hugged him tighter. He could feel Louis frown and Louis started to rub his back as if to warm him up, he wouldn't be able to.

“I hurt you both so much… and when you needed your husband and she needed her father… in the end I never was…” Lestat's voice broke and he hated it, hated himself for it, just hated himself and what he had become.

“I know… and I know how sorry you are. You didn't know she was sick. It's not on you.” Louis whispered.

Louis kissed his cheek then the corner of his mouth but Lestat had to pull away. He stared into those beautiful green eyes, running his fingers into Louis hair, gently pressing their foreheads together. His scent was starting to drive Lestat crazy.

He was about to kiss him when Magnus cleared his voice from the doorway. Lestat took a large step back from Louis, dropping his hands behind him and lacing his fingers together.

“Your girlfriend is waiting for you downstairs.” Magnus muttered through his teeth, “She would like you to take her to dinner.”

“We, uh, we're both invited up here.” Lestat glanced at Louis face, seeing rage in his eyes.

“You have a girlfriend. And you were about to cheat on her with me.” Louis scoffed.

Lestat tried to catch his breath, his hands flexing, about to reach for Louis, his Louis. He would do anything for Louis. He had cheated on Louis and he still kicked himself for it, especially after losing Claudia, and realizing she was already getting sick even then.

Magnus clicked his tongue, freezing Lestat in his tracks. He stared at Louis’ furious face for just another moment then rolled his shoulders, flipping his hair. That pain was shoved into its proper container in Lestat's heart to never be dealt with. The drugs would erase it.

He turned on his heel, crossing the room to Magnus, who stepped aside and let him pass. Magnus slid a hand under Lestat's shirt and to his lower back, rubbing it lightly as if to comfort him.

“You had a daughter?” Magnus asked.

“Not really. She lived with us for about five years, that's all.” Lestat lied with a shrug but Magnus grabbed him harshly and spun him, making Lestat trip and stumble down the last few steps painfully.

“You were supposed to disclose any relationships! This could be a scandal!” Magnus growled in his face, “I should have left you in that gutter I found you in after the fire.”

Lestat snarled and shoved Magnus away from him, “My lover, Antoinette, died in that fucking fire!”

“Which was a blessing, her voice did not harmonize with yours and it made Wolfkiller fail!” Magnus pushed Lestat as hard as he could, knowing that Lestat was too tired to keep himself on his feet.

Lestat tried to catch himself, grabbing a handful of Magnus’ hair but that just dragged them both to the floor. It was a mess of legs and arms and no matter how strong Lestat seemed, he had been starving himself to keep this frame. Along with the drugs and the drinking, he stood no chance as Magnus managed to grab his wrists and pin him to the floor.

“Youre nothing without me and my guidance.” Magnus spit in his face making Lestat turn his head, baring his neck. The horror sank in with Magnus’ fangs. A loud moan filled the room as Lestat started to sink.

“I hate you. I didn't want this! You dragged me to that hotel room, you drugged me. I didnt consent, I didnt want this! I told you no even as you bled me dry! ” Lestat cried as he continued to struggle.

“You wanted to be a star. I told you how. I taught you how. I gave you everything you needed. You signed the papers, Boy.” Magnus snarled, blood dripping from his fangs onto Lestat's face, and lifted lestat by the wrists only to slam him down again.

“Get off him!” Louis screamed, taking the stairs two at a time down to them from the lounge and kicking Magnus in the side. Magnus scrambled away as Louis got down and helped Lestat to sit up, “Les, are you alright?”

Lestat nodded and lifted his hand, intending to press it to his bleeding neck but stopping. Magnus slowly drew a gun from his jacket and pointed it at them. Tears started to well in Lestat's eyes, blurring his vision with a red tint.

“Dont weep, my wolfkiller. Stubborn Wolfkiller.” Magnus chuckled.

“Drop the gun, Magnus.” Louis said, trying to keep calm as he raised a hand as if to shield them, palm towards Magnus.

“Beg for me not to, Wolfkiller.” Magnus said, laughing loudly.

Lestat shook his head silently. He wouldn't die begging.

“Stubborn.” Magnus sighed.

“Not stubborn. Brave.”

He met Lestat’s eyes and pulled the trigger.

Pain erupted above his right eye and he collapsed. Blood ran down his face. He whimpered and tried to wipe it, not sure where it was coming from.

He manged to get the blood from his eyes and turn his head to the side as Magnus pointed the gun at Louis.

“Stay back!” Magnus said, his hand steady, finger on the trigger. Lestat wanted to protect Louis, to beg Magnus not to do this. Maybe he would die begging if it saved Louis. Magnus seemed to hear, and instead of shooting Louis, he turned the gun and pressed the gun to his own head, pulling the trigger.

Lestat screeched and sat up, the room spinning, the floor coming up to meet him as his vision went black.
