Charles used to get yelled at for having accidents by his old caregiver, he couldn’t really control it, so he didn’t understand why he had to hear such harsh words. So he learned how to be a big boy and not have accidents, but that lead to an infection and more harsh words. But he turned against the caregiver and tried to stay with Max most of his days. Daniel didn’t want another little though, so Charles had to spend his time with the mean caregiver. Now he doesn’t even think back to those times, he knows how to be a good boy now, so he can’t have accidents, right? Zandvoort 2025 proved wrong.
“I don’t like bein’ famous, Charlie.” Max whines. “Is okay.” Charles responds, maybe it’s okay to not want to be famous. But Charles is scared too, for himself. There is obviously nothing wrong with double pit stops, Charles can wet himself and then 5 minutes into the race request a double pit stop, but he’s gonna get yelled at. He just knows it. “They’re not gonna do anything.” Charles adds, Max hugs his arm and flinches when a flash of a camera happens. “I’m scareddd.” Max tears up. “Charles Leclerc!” A fan yells, Charles squeaks in surprise and there goes his bladder control. “No, no!” He looks down, then he pushes Max away and runs off. “Charlie!” Max calls after him, but Charles is gone.
Jenson sees Charles running over and catches him. “What’s going on?” He asks worriedly, Charles manages to get out of Jenson’s grip and runs off again. It’s Lewis who finds him sitting against the wall. “Are you playing hide and seek with Fernando and Carlos again?” He asks, grinning, Charles shakes his head, he has tears in his eyes. “Oh, right, you wouldn’t be playing if you had tears in your eyes.” Lewis giggles. He remembers finding Max in a tree, he had to bring Max down so he didn’t get hurt. “Charlie can tell Lew.” Charles says quietly, getting up, Lewis likes how Charles is open to him. “Tell me.” Lewis responds. “Charlie had accident, and- and daddy’s gonna be mad.” Charles tells Lewis, Lewis looks at him.
“No one’s gonna be mad at you, look at me, I’m not mad, right?” Charles nods and goes to Lewis, Lewis gives him a side hug and rubs the Monégasque little’s arm. “I can help you if that sounds good, then we can tell your daddy.” Charles nods against Lewis’s side, he doesn’t want to be outed as “actually has a seat full of water” yet. After Lewis helps him with changing, Charles tries to find Max. Which he does very fast. “Charlie!” He yells, running up to Charles. “Maxie!” Charles opens his arms and they hug. “Where did you go??” Max asks worriedly, Charles make an ashamed face. “Just had acchident, Maxie. Charlie okay now.” Max sighs in relief. “Tha’s good.” Max turns around and they both start to walk off. “Guess what?” Max says. “Yeah?” Charles responds. “I made the fans go away!” Max says proudly. Yeah, Charles has definitely made Max learn how to fend fans off.
