Summary
Gao Tu enters university already knowing exactly who Shen Wenlang is: an Alpha with stellar grades, an impeccable reputation, and a serious personality. From the very beginning, Gao Tu feels a deep sense of admiration and attraction, but he is also haunted by the fear of being treated differently because he is an Omega.
To protect himself, Gao Tu registers and presents as a Beta—a facade that, with enough medication and self-control, can be kept hidden within the university walls. Using the excuse of joining activities Shen is involved in, Gao Tu manages to get close to him. Shen begins to see him as a reliable partner: serious, competent, and free of the "drama" that many Alphas associate with Omegas.
Behind this mask, they end up working together frequently, eventually sharing meals and long conversations after class. Gao Tu keeps his feelings tightly guarded, even as his attraction only intensifies throughout their college years. -
