Steven always thought his brother’s best friend, JL, was odd.
It barely registered at first, nothing more than a passing impression he never bothered to hold onto.
Until it wasn’t.
Because noticing turned into watching. Watching turned into wanting. And wanting turned into something far harder to control.
It happens slowly and quietly. In lingering glances, in thoughts that come back too often, and in the way JL starts to feel like something Steven can’t ignore anymore.
Something he doesn’t want to ignore.
And when Steven finally gets a taste of him, he already knew. There’s no going back from it, and no pulling away. Only the quiet, certain realization that he was never going to let JL go.
